Chapter 215 215 They’re All Fine
Kays:

The happiest day of my life turned, in a single instant, into a living nightmare and a desperate fight. And not just for me…
Bahira—sweet and quiet back in my youth—turned out to be nothing like the person she pretended to be. Of all the things in this world, I would never have suspected her of being a SKIREFEN.
Now everything is painfully clear. All those years ago, that creature simply enchanted me with her magic, and I truly believed I loved her. That’s why nothing stirred inside me when the brunette returned. Back then, I wasn’t a mage—I was young, foolish, and easily influenced from the outside. And even now! Skirefens are such monstrously powerful magical beings that even with a gift as strong as mine, I couldn’t see the horrific creature she truly was.
But Iza could.
Yes, she can’t incinerate enemies with magic or manipulate matter to create objects. Her gift is purely creative—but it’s incredibly powerful and immensely valuable.
The moment my beloved prepedolka saw the dreadful monster for what it was, it stopped hiding and revealed itself in all its vile glory. The creature was enormous, dangerous, and devilishly enraged.
A single mage can’t handle something like that—but several people together pose a real threat. That’s why it tried to get rid of us, imposing its will in those caves. The emergence of two new powerful mages didn’t suit it at all, so it decided to pit us against each other—while also wiping out my family in the process.
And once again, that vile thing began its twisted revenge. First, the skirefen struck at our most precious and vulnerable point. Sending a devastating magical impulse at our loved ones—mine and Laverna’s—it decided to banish them back to their own world.
As if in slow motion, I saw a massive portal open behind Iza, and a tremendous wave hurl my beloved straight into that rift. Horror and disbelief froze on our faces as we tried to reach each other—but failed. Isabella and Anton vanished into the portal.
"That’s better," the monster rasped with malicious glee.
For that, it immediately received the most powerful magical strike I could unleash, straight to its hideous face—only making it even angrier.
The monster began attacking with its limbs, trying to impale me, but my fury was stronger. I dodged deftly and launched attack after attack, which the creature skillfully parried and evaded in return.
People were running everywhere. Total chaos reigned. In the turmoil, several were simply crushed by the monster’s sharp limbs.
Out of the corner of my eye, I realized I wasn’t fighting it alone. Laverna had snapped out of her shock, and the vivid green blaze in her eyes mirrored a rage equal to my own. Together we struck blow after blow—but the skirefen was unbelievably strong, easily deflecting our attacks and countering with its own.
I saw one of its limbs catch Laverna, flinging her several meters away and smashing her against a table. Shielding her, I intensified my assault on the monster.
"You ugly bitch!" Laverna snarled as she rose from behind the table, and I could see she’d been pushed to the edge. She tore the long hem from her ceremonial dress, leaving it barely covering her shapely backside, kicked off her heels, and was clearly ready to go hand-to-hand if needed. "I didn’t survive and reach the Caves of Power for pretty eyes alone! You’ll answer for centuries of my isolation!"
I know my little sister well—she’s a magnificent warrior. It’s not for nothing that for five hundred years I couldn’t finish her off. She could give any male fighter a serious run for his money.
Building up speed with everything she had, Lavi ducked under the creature and, with a swift, precise hold, wrapped herself around one of the skirefen’s limbs—snapping it with a sharp crunch. The monster roared and tried to skewer my friend, but she was quicker, slipping away from its revenge.
What truly surprised me was that Laverna and I weren’t alone in this fight. Shaking off their shock and grabbing their swords, those brave warriors who had come for the tournament joined the battle as well.
But one man among them stood out. I don’t remember seeing him before—and I was stunned when I saw one of the guests gathering a massive sphere of offensive magic in his hand.
