Love is Infinite (Part I)

Love is Infinite (Part I)
Two Weeks Later

"How are you late for your own wedding?” Kai asked rhetorically as he and the others looked out apologetically to the guests who were fidgeting in their chairs in the courtyard. Tapping Morgan, he whispered, "Mama Di doesn’t seem like the type to run on CP time.”

"She’s not, plus George is missing too, you think they're okay?” Pulling out her phone she dialed George’s number. "I’m going to try calling again.” After a few rings, she finally heard the sound of the phone pick up. "GEORGE?!” She shouted, "GEORGE CAN YOU HEAR ME?!”

"Uh...yeah…”

He said hesitantly, making Morgan raise her brow. "George, um are you okay? Not sure if you remembered but you’re supposed to get married today.”

There was a pause and then he whispered, "Yeah, I remember. C-can we do it in about an hour or so?”

She stared at the phone, “You’re already two hours late and why are you whispering?! What could you pos-” Her words stopped when she heard her mother in the background.

"GODDAMNIT GEO, YOU RIPPED MY DRESS! ANNIE IS GONNA BE SO PISSED WITH ME!”

Retching her head back, Morgan folded her lips, "George, are you and my mother late because you were being nasty?”

"NO!” He shouted, causing her to pull the phone from her ear, "YA MAMA WAS JUST HELPING ME WITH UH-” He snapped his fingers trying to think of something realistic, “THE FRIDGE! IT BROKE RIGHT BEFORE WE WERE LEAVING.”

"Hang on I’m going to put you on speakerphone so the others can hear this.”

""DON’T-”

Ignoring his plea, she placed him on speakerphone and beckoned everyone around. She chuckled, "So what you’re saying is mom helped you fix the fridge in her wedding dress because it broke as you were leaving out...George, why was she there in the first place? We left her at the bridal suite this morning because she said she needed a moment to clear her head.”

Klaus laughed, "That lie was as believable as that time Terrence wore that horrible toupee.” He sneered, "Then again, I guess technically Di didn’t lie. She needed to clear her head, so she helped you clear your pipes.”

George growled through the phone, “When I get there, I’m going to choke the ever living out of you.”

"Oh give me that!” Diane said before she snatched the phone from George’s hand, "Now listen here, we’re all grown adults...if I want my almost-husband to ring my bell, well then that’s my business.”

Sterling held his stomach, turning green in the face, "I just-nobody cares anymore...please someone care and learn that nobody wants to hear that stuff.”

Diane huffed, "Oh hush up. All that grunting and carrying on I had to hear coming from your bedroom. In there sounding like an audition for a skin flick.” Mortified, Morgan, Sterling, and Jordan looked around before all clearing their throats. "Yeah, that’s right, get quiet.”

"Now I’m all for a good romping or two, three, hell maybe even four, but you two still need to get here, you got people waiting on you. It’s inconsiderate and rude.” Annie said as she placed her hands on her hips, irritated.

"You’re right.” Diane retorted, "Here we come.”

"I thought you two already did-OUCH!” Klaus screamed as Terrence hit him on the back of the head.

"Learn when to shut up.” He growled.

Hanging up the phone, Morgan turned to the guest, "They’ll be here in a short minute, they-uh had car trouble.”

From the back, they heard a voice, "Nah, they were getting busy, no need to lie. Nothing wrong with gettin a little busy every now and again.”

Sterling grabbed his chest, "Gar-to-the-motherfucking-bear….I KNOW that isn’t you?!”

Gary stood and waved his hand, "You already motherfucking know! Not about to miss one of yall weddings, you know how I do. Yall have all the fine ,fine women!” He pointed to Demetri, "Your clan got them too!”

Demetri nodded, "I take that to be a compliment indeed, though I follow with the assertion that none are as fine, fine as my Little One.”

Gary heard a laugh, making him turn and tilt his head. Sliding from his seat, he sat next to a beautiful woman and kissed her hand, "And who in the hell on earth are you, with your fine self?” He smoozed.

She shook her head in amusement, "Selah, I’m of the coven Essential Chaos. A pleasure to meet you, Gary.”

Sterling raised his brows up and down, "Mhm, Gary get your mack on!”

"YOU KNOW I AM!” Gary shouted in return, before turning his attention back to her.

Covering her mouth, Sabine stifled her laugh, "Selah, you flirting girl?!”

Selah eyed Gary, and shrugged her shoulders, "I meannnn…” causing everyone to laugh.

--------------------------------------

After fifteen minutes, a very frazzle Diane and an equally frazzled George darted from the car to the courtyard. Picking her up, George raced down the altar towards the preacher. He put her down, and shook his hand,

"Good to see you preach, thank you for waiting.”

"Not a problem, though we really should-”

He raised his hand, silencing him, "We’ve been talking and you see, we told them all we ain’t want a big wedding.”

Diane nodded, avoiding Annie's eyes burning into her for her torn dress, "Can’t we just say the I dos and go eat? I’m starving.”

George scratched his beard, "Me too now that you mention it because-”

"NO!” Klaus growled, making them jump. His eyes yellow, he rolled his neck, "We done put all this work into this here wedding, YOU GONNA LIKE IT! You know how long it took me to get them damn pearls to cascade off that arch like angel tears?” He stomped his foot, "Look at this! Like a damn cloud under my foot. It took me FOREVER to figure out how to make it so you gliding on clouds Diane!”

Sterling pointed, "YEAH, AND YOU SAID I COULD BE THE FLOWER GIRL!”

Jordan let out a sigh, "Only because you threw a damn temper tantrum because the kids had jobs and you didn’t.”

"Don’t tell my damn sins in front of the preacher you archaic pencil necked son of a bitch!” He clenched his teeth, "There is nothing wrong with Harper and I sharing the responsibility.”

"How many times do I have to tell you that we.look.the.same!”

Sterling sneered, "Not today we don’t. What in the Thackery Binx is going on with your damn shirt? You look like a middle aged colonial woman.” He laughed, "Tell me Hester Prynne, where art thou scarlet letter?”

Jordan grabbed his throat, and let out a growl, “YOU MOUTHY LITTLE SHIT!”

"LITTLE RED TELL HIM STOP CHOKING ME AT A WEDDING!” Sterling choked out.

Morgan shook her head, before doubling over in laughter, "Please you two, knock it off, I can’t take this today.” She eyed Jordan, "You are kinda giving off Captain Black Beard vibes though.”

He huffed, "Because Klaus INSISTED that I wear this shirt to walk Diane down the aisle.” Folding her lips, she nodded silently before almost choking on her spit as she looked at the ruffled shirt again.

Klaus tapped George on the shoulder, "Get your ass in your right position so we can get this show on the road.”

He let out a growl, "But-”

"No buts, I want to see the beauty, the vision! I-I’ll-” Klaus shrank, "I-I’ll choke you-yeah! I'll choke you if you don’t do what I say.” He saw George blow steam from his nose.

"Fine.” He finally said.

Klaus jumped up and down, "ALRIGHT, PLACES EVERYONE!” Annie pulled Diane in the house and pinned her dress while the others took their positions. Sitting on a stool placed near the arch, Kai and Elijah Jr waited for their key to start. A sweet, slow melodious sound erupted from Kai’s guitar as he started to play and sing the beautiful words to a song he penned for the special occasion. Elijah Jr grinned proudly every time it was his turn to say his one line.

Kai twisted his lips trying his best not to laugh as he sung, at the competition happening between Harper and Sterling on who could throw the rose petals the best, and the moment Mavier let out a “woo” when he fumbled the rings, almost dropping them. Giving Morgan a nod, he stopped singing just before they started to walk down, he turned to a confused George, "We have something for you.”

"Huh, wha-” His eyes widened as Morgan, Rachel, Alexus removed their bridesmaid dresses, all revealing matching jeans. Quickly removing his jacket and shirt, Kai and the others pointed to their shirts. On the front it read, Blessed With Two Dads. George's eyes glistened in tears, and he wrapped his arms around Kai, embracing him, "Goddamn box of rocks done made me tear up on my wedding day.”

As the sisters walked down to him, Alexus gave him a bright smile, "They were moms idea. We just needed you to know...nobody wants you to replace Martin, we love you for you….you make our mother happy, that’s all we could ever ask for.”

He wiped his eyes and gave each of them a hug, and then he waited for Diane. Seeing her again, walking to him made his heart jump from his chest. Because no matter how many times he’d seen her, she always seemed to evoke the feeling from him. She was the one who made him realize all the things he missed, and the same who brought him to hope for all the things he would have with her in the future. And at that moment, he realized why it had taken so long. Because walking down to him was a woman who brought four other to love him along too. And the five of them in their own way ensured his very soul was healed. No longer feeling like the man life was never good to, he knew it was all because of her.

Diane couldn’t stop smiling as she walked toward George. A man who reopened her closed heart. He was the man who taught her that unconditional love is infinite. And each time he held her, she poured more into him, understanding doing so took none away from others. He was patient, kind, and loved her fiercely, but what she admired most was the way he loved himself. The way he ensured his cup was full so that he could pour into hers. The way he made sure that those around him learned that they must love themselves first before they could love anyone else. And as she stood next to him, she leaned on to his arm and looked up at the man who was not a part of the ugly future she thought she was destined to have, but of the beautiful one, that awaited.
