Demetri stormed into Elijah’s house, interrupting the sister's chat. Hands on his hips, face reddened, he sighed. “Alexus can I speak to you for a moment?” She looked to both of her sisters before standing.
“O-Okay sure.” Walking into the kitchen, she watched him pace back and forth in frustration. “Are you okay?” He folded his arms to his chest and continued to pace.
“I-It’s just, I was hoping that after everything we’ve been through, you would entrust in me.”
“What?” He shook his head.
“You know, I share everything with you.” She arched her brow.
“What in the world are you talking about?” He huffed and pouted.
“Why don’t you gossip with me?!” She bit her bottom lip to stifle her laugh.
"This has Sterling written all over it.”
“After the Kool-Aid incident, I resigned to not listen to anything he had to say. BUT on this matter, I have to agree with him. Apparently, your sisters gossip with their husbands…and yes while I understand we aren’t married…I would hope that you would feel comfortable gossiping with me.” Alexus laughed.
“Demetri, are you really upset that we don’t gossip?” Blowing steam from his nose, he stormed back to the common area. “Rachel! Morgan! Is it true that a woman in love gossips with her partner?!”
“Wha-“
“It’s true!” Sterling said, interrupting their response. Plopping down on the couch, he waved Elijah and Jordan into the room.
“What have you said now to piss Demetri off?” Sterling pointed to his chest in shock.
“I WOULD NEVER MISHANDLE HIS EMOTIONS! This is allllll Alexus fault!”
“MY FAULT?!”
Sterling shook his head. "It is a well known FACT that women who are in love and TRULY in love, gossip with their partners.” Morgan and Rachel avoided their sister's gaze.
“Sorry, Alexus….”
“WOOOOWWWW!” Sterling clapped his hands.
“Little Red and I gossip all the time. Hell! She even taught Jordan how to gossip.” Jordan cut his eyes.
“I do not gossip.”
“So you didn’t call Little Red last week to tell her how Caroline had you all THEE way fucked up, thinking you wouldn’t fire her for lying on her timesheet?” Jordan grumbled.
"Her and Britney just knew they had a perfect plan. But Manny from HR had been sleeping with Britney, and when she told him she was only using him, he let it slip.” Rachel leaned back.
“Manny who picks his toes at the board meetings?” Elijah shook his head.
"No, you’re thinking about Matthew.”
“Oh…hmmm I don’t think I know Manny then.” Morgan tapped her arm.
“YES YOU DO! MANNY, MANNY! Too many teeth in his mouth Manny!”
“OHHHHHH SHARK BITE MANNY?! Damn, I would have never guessed he was sleeping with Little Britney.”
Demetri looked at them all mortified. “YOU SEE! WHY DON’T WE DO THIS?! I WISH TO DO THIS!” Alexus rubbed the back of her neck.
“Ummm…well-how do I say it? You don’t know how to gossip Blue Eyes.” His mouth dropped.
“WHAT?! I know how to gossip!” Alexus shook her head feverishly.
“Remember that story you told me the other day…about Fabio coming to you for help?” Sterling threw up his hands.
?Wait a minute…there’s a vampire named Fabio…is it…” Alexus nodded.
“Yep one and the same- Demetri didn’t even put that in the story.”
Sterling gave him a look of pure disgust. “You sick man…how do you NOT mention Fabio?”
“…Well he wishes to keep a low profile…” Rachel giggled.
“So does everybody who becomes the subject of gossip. That’s why when I’m telling Elijah a story I always start with now, I’m not supposed to tell anybody, but since we don’t keep secrets and you don’t know them…I’mma tell you” Demetri's eyes shot to Alexus.
“BUT SHE DOES KNOW FABIO!” Morgan shook his head.
"It doesn’t matter. It’s more so to make the gossiper feel better, and at the same time signal that the story is about to be really good.”
“Yeah…so you said Fabio came to you because he had fallen in love with a woman…and when I asked you who, you said Willetta.” Jordan slapped his knee.
“WILLETTA?! THROUPLE WILLETTA?!” Alexus nodded.
“Yeah! He left out that she was in a throuple-“
“I WAS BEING SENSITIVE TO YOUR SISTER’S RELATIONSHIP!” Alexus glared at him.
“And the fact that she was a wolf?!” Elijah looked at him as if he was insane.
“How do you leave out so much detail? What was the purpose of telling her the story?! Gossiping is like making a basket. You got to weave in each different part for the product to truly come together.” Alexus eyes widened and she pointed to him.
"THAT’S WHAT I WAS SAYING! I HAD TO GET THE REST FROM STACY. Fabio fell in love with Willetta and was worried about the drama it would cause BECAUSE her husbands Damien and Frank had found out and since they had twelve kids, and just became redeemed members of Moon Stone it was just like ANOTHER strike against her favor. You know with the whole-“
“Fight where Frank beat Damien big ass at the outpost when he tried to manhandle Frank for sleeping with her in the first place? And they had to go on Maury? Then they all somehow made it work and got remarried?”
Alexus shook her head and Sterling folded one leg over the other. “Yeahhhh I remember when Adrian's goon mentioned it, but I didn’t know if it was true. Then this whole thing with a vampire…DEMETRI didn’t say shit…THEY SAY that since she had already got caught cheating and finessed the situation, she was trying to go for broke. But APPARENTLY, Fabio caught feelings and gave her an ultimatum. Told her, he would take care of the twelve and be open to figuring out how to have more.“ Morgan snapped her fingers.
“GIRRRRLLLLL! YOU LYING!” Her face flushed. “Sorry” Sterling laughed and then pointed to Demetri.
“That’s how you know you doing a good job. She forgets you’re not one of her female friends.” Rachel shook her head.
“All I’m saying is twelve kids and she still snagged a vampire? My girl definitely has that kryptonite. Might have to put it in a bottle and sell it on the black market.” Demetri watched everyone laugh and sat in his confusion.
“I don’t get how we got to this place? There’s been no resolution…” Alexus kissed his cheek.
"Gossip rarely has an end Blue Eyes. It just keeps going. Other players get added and the story gets a bit more outlandish but there’s honestly no solid ending.” He nodded.
“I think I understand. I see now what I was doing wrong before.” Kissing her, Demetri said goodbye to everyone, and Jordan placed his hand under his chin.
"Honey….did I tell you that Britney’s suing Manny for distributing revenge porn?” Her eyes widened.
"WHATTTTTTTTT GIRLLLLL YOU LYING!”

Standing in the bathroom, Alexus looked in the mirror while brushing her teeth. “Little One?” She heard Demetri call out to her. “Before bed, I wish to make another attempt at gossiping.” She chuckled.
"Alright-here I come.”
Entering the bedroom, she saw him leaning against the bedframe. He looked to the sky. “Okay…let me make sure I get this right this time….give me a moment.” Nodding, she patiently waited. Demetri began.
“Right…so I heard that there was this beautiful wolf wedding. Where these two Alpha’s were marrying their gorgeous wife right? And during the toast part, a family friend that had been invited saw the wife's sister and she literally stopped his heart. Now this woman-“ He smirked. “Didn’t have the kindest things to say about vampires, and the family friend-he wanted to say that he went after her to teach her a lesson, but really deep down he somehow knew, she was his beloved.”
“Demetri…” He tilted his head.
“And guess what happened the moment he held her in his arms?”
“What?”
“Sparks…and they only increased every time he touched her. She made him face demons and showed him that the only true monster around was himself. He even survived an infamous ass whooping from Terrence's neck skin button toting Turnemloose Mays.” Alexus laughed and snapped her fingers.
“GIRRLLLL! YOU LYING?!” Demetri shook his head grinning.
“Nope! He of course deserved it, and it, along with many hard lessons about himself made him realize he had to let her go so she could be happy.”
Alexus looked down at her shoes. “And so then he made her forget him…but somehow, she still remembered and the two fell in love all over again. Only this time, the guy loved her in addition to the love he’d grown for himself and not out of dependency.” He walked closer to her.
“Alexus look at me.” She raised her head, her eyes glassy. “I’m not supposed to tell anybody, but since we don’t keep secrets…Imma tell you…this vampire has wanted nothing more since his beloved returned to ask her something really important. And since he now understands that gossip is just a story that never ends, he finally figured out a way to ask.”
Demetri pulled the velvet box from behind his back and got down on one knee. Opening it, he watched the tears fall from her eyes, as she looked at the clear blue stone.
“He owned eyes that reminded her of the place the first man who owned her heart save up all his money just to take his family. The place that was unexpectedly right for her, the place she traveled and fell in love. And perhaps the best thing about all of this is that with all the outlandish things that happened between them, all the up and all the downs…she still teaches him that much like gossip, their story will never end.”
Alexus wiped her tears, as he grabbed her shaking hand. “He asked her to be his wife-but unfortunately I don’t know the reply- so I can’t finish weaving the basket.” Leaning down, she wrapped her arms around him and cried.
“S-she said yes.”
Demetri stood and placed the ring on her finger and pulled her into his arms. "You have made me so happy Little One." Alexus could hardly speak.
Releasing her, he looked to the clock on the wall and smiled. “8:00 pm.” She wiped a tear from her eyes.
“W-What’s so important about 8:00 p.m?” Pulling her back into his arms, he kissed the top of her head.
"Mavier taught me that it's when you always tell the best part of the story.”
