CHAPTER 7

I woke up to the sound of the alarm on my bedside table, I checked the time to see it was 6 am. I looked beside me to see Kiki sleeping peacefully so I decided to sleep for extra five minutes.

I woke up to the sound of the door opening and I knew it was Kyle.

“So, Kiki was here,” he said loud enough to wake us up and Kiki quickly jumped up from the bed upon hearing her name while I deepen my head into the soft mattress and cover my ears with my hands “calm down Kiki,” Kyle said again as he moved closer to Kiki and pulled her into a big hug “I didn’t know you were back!” Kiki exclaimed “So, Norah didn’t tell you I returned yesterday right?” he asked looking confused

“she must have forgotten” Kiki bailed me out not wanting to explain further

“We have to prepare for school, you know,” I said as I quickly jumped out of bed and dragged Kiki towards the bathroom while Kyle made his way out of my room.

It was already 8:30 am before we left the bathroom, so we have less than 30 minutes to prepare for school. I decided to wear my ripped black jeans and a very beautiful emerald crop top that Kyle got for me last Christmas with my black ankle boot. I did a little French braid at the side of my hair and made the remaining into a ponytail. Kiki decided to wear her tight navy-Blue leggings that she was wearing yesterday with my big yellow shirt and my canvas shoe, she made her hair in the same style as mine. We rushed downstairs, to the kitchen and quickly grab a pack of cereal and milk, and after eating we left the house in my 2017 red range rover.

It is already lunch, so we all gathered at the table as we have been doing for the past few days with the guys, the cuts still look a bit fresh, but the bruises are fading gradually.

“so, what happened yesterday” I asked looking confused and expecting an answer “Let us start from Kiki” Fed replied gesturing to Kiki to narrate what happened to her “I went on a jog towards the forest after getting home yesterday where I met Morris and a guy talking on the road, I passed by them and later after getting home I decided to sleep, I woke up to see a letter beside my bed and immediately I opened it I threw it away” Kiki explained looking terrified.

“so, what happened next” we all asked in sync anxiously “in the letter was written “Wearing a shoe bigger than your foot” I quickly threw it away as I heard my door opening, I quickly sent a short message to Norah and I lifted my face to see two huge guys coming toward me looking so scary with scars all over their face and I quickly ran to my bathroom, and that was where I got beaten up and tied down”

“Hmmm,” Fed sighed loud enough for us to hear “we noticed strange movements in the compound, but we thought it was Kia, so we didn’t bother about it and later we started hearing people tampering with the door and at that moment we knew it wasn’t Kia again and that was when we tried to reach Norah” Bran explained but was interrupted by Mathis who told him to cut the long story short “We were later attacked by seven guys in number who beat us to pulp and locked us in the basement” Bran concluded

“Can any of you recognize the attackers?” I asked “they covered their faces with masks” Mathis replied while others including Kiki nodded “Now we know the attackers are the same set of people” Bran stated “I think I should be jotting down the points” Kiki suggested which we all nodded in reply She quickly went to her locker to pick a jotter and pen

“so, do they have anything in common?” I asked again while they all look as if they were trying to think but replied “no”

Kiki returned with the writing materials and started writing somethings we don’t know “They all have a color in common, either on their cap or shirt” Fed mumbled while I looked at Bran to say something “I can’t remember seeing something like that” Bran answered

We later agreed to meet at Bran’s house in the evening when they rang the bell for lunch over and headed back to our next classes.

After school, we all met at Bran’s house as agreed, discussed the incident, and decided to investigate it.

“how far about Kia” Kiki said while we all exchanged glances “We haven’t been able to reach him yet” Bran replied throwing his hands up in the air “don’t you think we should report to the police?” I suggested as that is the only thing that came to my mind while others busted into laughter “Police??” Fed asked as he continue laughing even harder “Police can’t find Kia” Mathis responded

“why?” Kiki and I asked in sync looking as confused as a strayed dog “We are not involving cops in Kia’s affairs girls because we can’t still figure out much about him and we don’t want to land him in any trouble” Bran explained I looked at Kiki and sighed and everything went back to a comfortable silence

Should we suspect Kia for the attack?

Hmm, can he really do something like that?

I am actually suspecting Kia “can we in any way suspect Kia for the attack?” Fed asked Everyone raised their heads in surprise and remain startled for a minute. I felt most surprised because that was what Beatrice was just whispering in my mind.

“Kia can never dare to attack me in my house,” Bran said smirking “you can never say never,” I told him and smiled “I was just thinking about the same thing actually,” Kiki said and smiled “so, we can place Kia as our number one suspect now” Mathis suggested “I agree brother” Fed replied while the rest of us nodded our heads in agreement also.

We drifted back to a very comfortable silence before Bran broke the silence “Netflix and chill anybody?” Bran asked trying to break the silence “Yes please” Kiki responded while Fed ran to grab the remote control “Money Heist or Game of Thrones?” Fed asked putting us in a very hard condition to choose because every one of us loves both and we can’t decide the best yet.

“Game of Thrones, please” Bran replied “Money Heist Season 4 is out guys, why not see it?” Mathis suggested looking at us to agree “so is Game of Thrones,” Bran replied while the rest of us continue to watch the two of them dragging the best between the two and why we have to pick one over the other.

“Since Winter is coming, I suggest we go with G.O.T,” I said throwing my hands in the air also while others sighed and agreed.

We were still watching Game of Thrones, and I can say Arya will always remain my favorite among the Stark children and not Sansa, and I can’t wait to have all the Lannister’s family killed except the dwarf. Everyone was so engulfed in the show when my phone rang.

“Hey Miss Williams, this is your coach speaking,” the caller said “Oh, Miss Becca” I replied looking a little disappointed “We meet after school tomorrow,” she said and hung up I have to meet coach Becca tomorrow. She is a university graduate who studied sports, and she has done a lot of studies in her field. She majored in swimming, and she is my favorite teacher. She has been my swimming coach since Junior school.

I raised my head to see Bran looking at me and like someone who is already lost in thought, I smiled, and I picked up my phone and sent him a short message 3:16: A picture will last longer you know?

His phone vibrated and he picked it up and looked at me then smiled 3:18 Bran: Why don’t you just come on a date with me?

3:19: lol.

I switched off my phone and looked at him shaking my head while he winked at me and concentrate back on the TV.

“I think we have to go” Kiki broke the silence again distracting everyone I looked outside from the window and nodded to her. We left the guys and headed to my house.

I sat down on my bed while Kiki sat on the couch pressing her phone with all concentration “who is the new guy?” I asked with a little sarcasm in my voice “It is Kyle” she replied dropping her phone “what does he want from you this time around?” I asked looking at her confusedly “He is asking me to go out on a catch-up date with him” she answered looking at me to say something.

“Kyle doesn’t know what he wanted you know” I stated in form of a question while she nodded Kyle has always loved Kiki right from Junior school, but he was never serious about her as he has dated a lot of girls including Morris and he has also slept with Ashley without the knowledge of Morris. Morris has always hated me and thought I was the reason behind their breakup because I caught her making out with Kyle’s best friend at a classmate’s party while Ashley likes to terrorize me thinking I will one day reveal her secret about how I once caught her sleeping with Kyle at the basement also. Funny enough both of them hate me thinking they hated me on a common ground not knowing deep within each of them the reasons differ. All other Kyle’s girlfriends including Morris and Ashley hated Kiki because Kyle made it obvious that he likes Kiki more than anyone except me his cousin.

“Have you ever noticed how Bran looks at you” Kiki asked I understood at once, but I didn’t make it obvious to her that I like Bran also “really??” I shrieked “yeah, he must really like you,” Kiki said letting out a smile from the corner of her lips.
