CHAPTER 139
ZENEVIEVA'S POV
"He will be fine now, you don't need to worry. It's better since he wasn't given anything as I advised."
I told the Queen and she nodded, still staring at me in shock.
"I'm glad." She sighed in relief and I returned her smile. "....That you're fine and you're also the one treating the king all this while you were going through hell. Please go inside and take a rest, we'll continue from where we stopped tomorrow"
She said excitedly and I almost groaned at that.
The Queen wouldn't let me breathe since I came back while I have been trying my best to avoid her at all costs.
She's been worried, entertaining, and tiring.
It's been three days since I arrived at the palace and the extra treatment I've been given makes me feel extremely strange. Tyson has been surprisingly odd, avoiding me at all costs even if he were to come in my direction, he would take the other way which feels weird.
He's acting all cool and I don't know if I should feel glad or disappointed.
A part of me doesn't like this new aura he eludes at all, I still want him to yell at me, to call me names and whip me so that I can feel pain and hate him, to make me yearn for Kyle as usual but it's just the total opposite.
I'm feeling worried.
His heart pain had Increased tremendously no matter how he tried to hide it. He had slammed the door shut on me once when I passed his room to see him sprawled on the floor in pain.
I went to meet Tyler, he would be the only one to tell me something more if I asked.
A small pinch on my skin made me wince in pain as I gasped and turned to meet such person that did that
"Lexa!" I gasped in shock and she frowned.
"You're such an imposter and betrayer, how could you?" She looked so serious that one would think that I had wronged her.
"Spill it already, why are you mad?" I widened my eyes in shock.
"You got kidnapped, got hurt and you suddenly disappeared. You were not even ready to come back to Mudville making me a total wench right?" She complained so seriously and I chuckled.
"That's not it Lexa "
"No, I know I'm just a rogue maid but I thought we shared a relationship?" She began to tear up and I shook my head in total disbelief at her reaction.
"I'm sorry, a lot happened. I don't have any excuse." I surrendered.
She glared and frowned while I just chuckled and hugged her, apologizing. I've been so occupied to even remember her which makes me a bad friend.
"Fine, you're just too cute to be ignored. Why are you suddenly glowing after being kidnapped?" She grinned at me, twitching her lips.
"What do you mean?" I asked, still looking in the direction of Tyler.
"Go meet him and come back to tell me the secret behind this glow Immediately."
She noticed my attention towards him and I smiled, nodding at her.
"Tyler, wait!" I yelled when I noticed that he was about to leave and he halted.
"Zenevieva, are you okay?" He asked calmly, checking all over my body.
"I'm fine." I blurted out and tilt my head to the side when he wasn't convinced.
"Have you eaten? You should rest a bit, how about your wounds, if it's still…"
"Stop! I have a wolf too and she's incredibly strong to heal that, stop asking me things and if I'm a baby." I warned him and he sighed, his shoulders dropping.
"I'm sorry, I'm just worried " He confessed and I nodded.
"Can you guys just stop already with this special preferential treatment and treat me as before?"I almost yelled at him.
"I am doing the same." He shrugged and bit his lips, knowing that was a fat lie.
"No! You're too serious and respectful."
He chuckled.
"Am I supposed to insult you?"
"No, be normal and tell me what the hell is wrong with Tyson?"
He tilted his head to the side and frowned.
"Are you worried about Tyson?" He asked, scrutinizing me with a frown.
"I'm not, he's been quiet lately and struggling about his heart in silence," I say, feeling confused.
"It's the same thing, wow!" he grinned and I rolled my eyes.
"Can you be serious?" I puffed out and asked him and he scoffed.
"But you just warned me to not be serious."
He's playing tricks on me and he knows it. I know it's weird to be worried about Tyson right now but I can't help it. My wolf yearns to know how he's faring and I want to know too. His sudden calmness irritated me as well so I want to know.
I glared at him and he sighed. "Fine, I'll tell you. I don't have a choice after all."
"Tell me." I nudged at him and he started.
"He's been suffering from that chest/heart pain for a very long time now, since the last previous twelve full moons and it's now worse cause the only one that supplies his medicine is suddenly out of the pack."
I gasped.
"For that long?" He nodded and I bit my lips nervously.
"Why didn't he say anything or call for help, why will he bottle all of that?" I shrieked.
"He's the Alpha Zenevieva? What would happen if the pack members saw their Alpha being weak with chest pain, who would fight for them? Especially when we were at war with the Lycans back then? Did you think his mother would have taken it lightly if she discovered what happened to her son? I tried my best but I could do nothing to help him." He explained and I shook my head in disagreement.
"Still, he would have helped himself!" I yelled.
"There's no cure Zenevieva! He was stabbed deep into his lungs and he kept saying he deserves it, which I don't understand."
Tyler said innocently while I vibrated with raw guilt in me.
I guess he's not aware of the person that did that, I was ready to kill at that time not caring about the precautions that would hurt anyone, I was too blinded in my rage.
"How is he right now?" I asked calmly.
He sighed.
"Worse, in the sense that I don't know how he's faring 'cause he's been locking himself up from you know…guilt? Your pack, his father, and everything else with Marcella and everyone else around him. I don't like this for his attitude but he's still my friend."
I swallowed hard and bit my lips hard.
He's still my mate too, despite being a demon.
I guess we are even, he hurt me and I hurt him.
"I'll be back," I whispered, turning my heels to go to his chambers but a maid stood before me and bowed.
"I'm sorry my Queen but the Alpha is here to see you?"
Tyler turned at once and I frowned. "Who?"
"Alpha Kyle, he's waiting at the general royal hall."
I sighed and nodded, feeling disappointed.
I wanted to see Tyson first, why must he come at this time?
But why am I feeling so uninterested in his visit all of a sudden? I'm always excited and giddy to see him, what's wrong with me?
I walked as fast as I could to meet him. I want to get it done with him as soon as possible and check on Tyson before he dies from pain.
"Kyle?" I called and he turned to meet me, walking hastily to hug me warmly.
I disentangled immediately and dragged him to my room.
"We shouldn't do that there, the Queen is around," I said sternly.
"I don't give a fuck about that, I just missed you."
He said hoarsely and hugged me again and I sighed.
It's impossible not to like Kyle, his scent alone could drive anyone over the edge and his looks were hypnotizing but why does all this feel wrong?
"Are you okay? You seem confused about something." He whispered sweetly with a worried tone.
"I'm fine," I whispered and he sighed tilting his head to kiss me when I shifted backward.
I love Kyle, I do like this man a lot but I'm hurting him by keeping secrets from him. He needs to know the truth about everything.
"Kyle?" I called him
and he kissed my forehead.
"Yes love, is anything the problem?" Hr asked, searching my eyes as if the answer were there.
"I'm pregnant!" I blurted.
