Chapter 120
CHAPTER 120
TYSON'S POV
Anyone would call us crazy for merely looking at my beta and warriors, scattered around each room like a thief just to capture some bizarre rogues.
It just didn't make sense but this is the only strategy I can use in fishing out the culprit that's causing panic in the lives of my people in the pack.
Zenevieva could stay in the royal chambers, for some reason I just wanted her to be safe which was really weird and irritating at the same time.
I wanted to punish her for sneaking out of the room, probably throw her to the dungeon or seize her crown of authority but the way my wolf howls and drops down in strong disappointment and emotions makes me feel disgusted for even thinking about that in the first place.
"The men are ready," Tyler said, glancing around the palace and the pack.
"Good, they should spread and dare not sleep. If the rogue attacks a single soul or kidnaps anyone while on duty, they're as good as dead!"
I bellowed and he nodded but his face creased into a frown with a fixed gaze at something.
I whipped my direction to his gaze and frowned harder until she got to where we were standing.
"What are you doing?" I raised my voice in irritation.
"I'm outside!" She said casually and I sighed, trying to hold my breath.
"What are you here, Zenevieva?" I asked her again in a warning tone.
"For some reason, I can't sleep alone in a quiet place and I really want to help in finding the rogue too!" She said,
I chuckled and scoffed menacingly.
"Get the fuck off!" I ordered her and she glared.
"I just want to help!" She pleaded and strayed her eyes around.
"You think this is some kind of fun to you, are you crazy? What the hell can you do other than risk that pathetic life of yours in danger!" I thundered at her and she didn't say a word to me.
"It's dangerous Zenevieva, you can do anything else but not this "
Tyler tried to coax her which irked me.
"You all underestimate me, I know how the rogue works. They might not even go to the people's room anymore. At Least let me help with something no matter how little it is, my days are already too boring." She insisted and my blood books at her reply, why the heck was she so stubborn.
"For goodness sake, get out Zenevieva! Don't remind me that you're a rogue by knowing all their tactics!" I yelled.
"Don't yell at me, okay? I'll leave! Besides I was never referring to you all this while, I was talking to Tyler who had replied to me. I wonder what's making you insane right now!"
She said and stormed out from my sight and I almost went after her but Tyler was quick to hold my hands.
"She left already, what's the additional fuss for?"
I yanked his hand away and cursed.
"And you think the trash she just uttered is funny?" I cocked my head at him and he sighed.
"She was referring to me and you already took it personal, as usual." He said and I bit my lips.
"Why would she refer to you alone when I'm standing here huh?"
I asked, looking like a defeated and wounded puppy.
"That's because she doesn't give a two fuck about you, the feeling is mutual bro; you don't care!"
He fired and my heart became so bittered by such an ugly statement.
"Can we go now? It's late."
Without saying a word I took his lead and we walked around the Pack to supervise and watch out for anything funny.
"Ethan is Collette's mate." I blurted out to Tyler who just nodded.
"It seems you already knew?" I said to him and he nodded again.
"It was obvious, your anger was all over the place even though you refused to say a word to me.." He shrugged and I sighed.
"It's frustrating, how the heck? And he even rejected her!" I yelled and scoffed at his audacity.
"Yeah, that must be so painful for Collette to handle." He said sarcastically
"It's not funny Tyler!" I yelled, noticing the Sarcasm in his voice.
"I know, it wasn't funny for Zenevieva too, remember?" He spat out and I swallowed hard.
"Do you like her too?" I asked him and he smiled.
"Who else hates her aside from your narcotic self and your sister!" He fired at me and I regretted starting this topic with him.
"We are not having this argument again, let's focus on the task we have at hand." I told him and he grinned.
"Better! I'll appreciate that too." He smiled sarcastically at me and I wonder how much I've hurt Zenevieva for him to be so irritated at me like this.
We watched throughout the night for an attack but there was no sign of one. We were almost retreating and going back to our respective places and positions when I heard a loud cry that they'd been caught.
Not one but two of them which made me so relieved and proud at the suggestion.
I retired to the palace and ordered my men to lock them up after a good beating while I commence the investigation tomorrow with Tyler.
I had almost checked on Zenevieva but I kicked against it and went to bed.
After refreshing and getting prepared to meet the rogue in the morning, a knock on the door distracted me and I waited until it gave its way open and Lexa came in bowing really low.
"Why has she sent you?" I asked her and she shook her head.
"She didn't return last night so I thought she was with you or still sleeping."
She said and I frowned.
"Please can you tell her that her breakfast is ready?" She said again.
"Are you inane, where did you say Zenevieva went to?" I asked again, now raising my voice in confusion.
"I…..she left to meet you and Tyler last night." She stuttered.
"And she hasn't returned since then?"
I asked in disbelief and was shocked when she nodded.
"That's impossible!"
I slammed and ran out, going to her room but was met with an empty space.
How is that possible? I thought I watched her go back to the palace last night.
I went back only to face Tyler , scanning the entire place.
"Is it true? Lexa told me that she didn't come home last night!" Tyler asked me nervously and I ruffled my hair devastatingly.
"Isn't that why I'm here too? Where did she go? What is wrong with that stubborn girl!" I muttered in confusion.
"Are you sure she's not being kidnapped instead?" He said and I panicked instantly but hid it.
"It's not possible, she can't just disappear even without a scream!" I almost yell at him.
"Fuck! Tyson, I think she's in danger. Zenevieva won't just disappear in a blink, why do you think those men willingly presented themselves?" He asked me and I tried to connect why?
"To distract us?" I asked and he nodded.
"Exactly! They did that to take Zenevieva away!"
"But….is that what they said?" I foolishly asked him and he groaned.
"Does it matter?" He yelled and ruffled his hair. " We need to find her, they shouldn't be far away."
"Yeah, but we need information from those men or the search is useless. We don't know anywhere around." He suggested and I nodded.
"Then go and do it immediately, Make sure this is sealed or if mum is aware of it , she will go berserk!"
I said feeling so uncomfortable about the whole situation.
Zenevieva is kidnapped, this should be the perfect time for me to act and even ensure that she would never come back but why am I feeling so Insecure and disturbed.
Why am I regretting that she should have stayed the night with us?
My mum's footsteps towards me sent my heart racing in heavy steps.
"Where's Zenevieva? Please call her over, he King requests to see her." My hear slammed in my ribcage
"Is dad awake?" I asked, trying to distract her.
"Are you asking me that?" She eyed me.
"I mean, is he already saying something?" I asked again and she kissed loudly at me.
"Get Zenevieva for me, Idiot!" She spat out fiercely.
"I…..". She turned to face me fiercely and I sw
allowed, biting back the words and nodding.
How the hell will I tell her that Zenevieva is missing from the palace?
"Yeah, I'll call her for you."
