CHAPTER 17.5

"Baby," I exhaled.

Falcone hissed in my ear, his palm cupping my breast, fingers massaging my nipple, his other hand over mine, his finger manipulating mine at the golden place while his cock pushed within me.

He was correct; I was present. My head sprang back, colliding with his shoulder, and I was on my way. Hard.

He slipped my hand between my legs and wrapped both of our arms around my stomach, his other hand still holding my breast as he drove me down and surged up, his face in my neck, his deep moans rippling through me.

Then he beat up on me, retained the connection, and roared into my neck.

"Baby," I said, twisting my neck. His head rose, his mouth captured mine, and his tongue glided inside.

I adored the flavor of him.

He kissed me close and connected, then his mouth released mine. He yanked me off his cock, spun me around in bed, and followed me down. His body was wrapped over mine, his hips between mine, my calves around his thighs, and my arms around his back.

My fingertips stroked the flesh of his back as his face pressed into my neck.

“Falcone?

" I dialed.

"No, darling, I'm not a superhero," he murmured against my neck, my body stilled, and I understood he was teasing.

"Arrogant," I commented, but I laughed.

His head rose, he grinned down at me, and my hand went down, around, and up his chest, cupping his cheek with my thumb caressing his dimple.

“Gia?" I heard, and my gaze shifted from their admiration of his dimple to his.

“Yeah? ”

"You dialed my number, darling."

"I did?

”

His smile deepened; I saw and felt it as his dimple shifted beneath my thumb.

"Yeah, you did," he said.

"I'm sorry, I was taken in by your dimple."

"Christ, like it when you're sweet," he mumbled as he fell still.

My body melted against his, and my fingers slipped back across his hair.

"I recall what I wanted to say," I said gently.

"So say it, Sweet Pea," he said tenderly.

"I appreciate you teaching me about Isabelle and Finn and being so sweet to Mom."

"You're welcome, sweetie," he said, raising his hand and trailing his fingers over my hairline.

"And thank you for keeping me safe," I continued.

"Gia," he said quietly.

"And for attempting to locate Isabelle."

"You're free to leave now."

I chose to ignore him. "And for rescuing me from biker jail."

"You previously praised me for that, despite the fact that you did it during your rage."

"Well, thank you again because it was kind of dirty in there and I wasn't a huge fan of touching or, um... sitting on anything, so it made it more unpleasant than just being put in a room for your own safety but against your choice."

"I'll make sure Janine doesn't trip on the job," he said.

"I'm serious," I stated gently.

His palm cradled the side of my head, and his thumb circled the crease of my brow.

"I know you are," he said calmly.

"My life is a disaster," I said, something he already knew.

"This, Gia, will pass."

I took a deep breath in through my nose and exhaled, saying, "I hope so."

His thumb brushed over my lips as his hand moved lower. "One good thing you learnt today." It appears like things are going well for you. Your mother is a shambles, but she is still a babe."

My brows furrowed together. "Did you just refer to my mother as a babe?" ”

"You remind me of her," he said.

That wasn't so horrible, was it? My mother was a shambles, Falcone was correct, but she had killer style.

"You act like Melinda," Falcone said.

I concentrated on him. "I do? ”

"When you're not yelling or chopping at cookie dough with your cleavers."

I cracked a smile. "I didn't use a cleaver to eat cookie dough."

"It was close," he said, grinning down at me.

He was correct, and I began to tremble with laughter.

He waited until I was merely smiling at him before dipping his head and kissing the base of my throat. Then he moved off of me, pulled the blankets over us, reached out to turn out the lamp on his nightstand, and cuddled my back into his front. The light on my nightstand was then turned off as he brushed against me and crossed in front of me. He then pulled my neck hair back and kissed the region behind my ear. He encircled my arm and brought me in close before joining my leg with his and sinking into the pillows.

“Goodnight, Falcone.”

No slam bam thank you ma’am instead, chatting, giggling, and hugging in place.

If this was how my day ended, I think I could deal with drive-by shootings, firebombs, and finding out my mother was still a disaster after all these years.

I was lying in his large bed in the dark in Falcone's enormous warehouse, with his big, warm body near by and the lovely, recent memory of his goodnight.

Yes, if this were how my day ended, I could manage all that.

But now I questioned whether Falcone shared my thoughts.
