Chapter 266

Chapter 266

Isabella saw the comment section getting heated again and said calmly, "Thank you all for your concern. First of all, my husband still hasn't been heard from, which means he might still be alive, so I don't want to assume anything."

[The Moore Group already belongs to someone else. If Mr. Moore were really alive, wouldn't he come back?]

[Isabella started streaming just to buy time and use the information gap to negotiate with Liam's family.]

[Isn't this cruel? For the sake of the Moore Group, she doesn't care whether her husband is dead or alive. Even if he's dead, she won't bring his body back.]

 [Right, evil woman.]

Isabella looked at the negative comments and just smiled lightly, "If you want to call me evil, then fine, I'm evil. After all, whatever I do looks that way to you. Here's a little promotion—if you have nothing better to do, go watch Aaron's reality show. It's very healing. People should look at more beautiful things instead of filling their heads with so much garbage."

 [She's mocking the trolls.]

[Aaron is handsome, has a great voice, and his acting is amazing. Everyone should check it out.]

The comment section started getting taken over by Aaron's fans.

Isabella had said that to drive traffic to the show. She temporarily ignored the comments.

"Isabella, look, is this person Matthew?"

Bianca's voice rang out, and Isabella quickly left the livestream.

The comment section immediately went quiet.

[What's going on? Mr. Moore isn't dead?]

[This is just those two women putting on a show for us.]

[I don't think so. Isabella seems pretty normal to me, and why would she put on an act? There's no need.]

[Idiot, do you know how much the Moore Group shares are worth? At least tens of millions of dollars a year. If Matthew really died, plus that transfer agreement, Isabella would end up with nothing.]

[This is more exciting than any TV drama.]

Amid the discussion, the livestream was cut off.

Soon, the topic #MatthewIsStillAlive trended on social media.

When Chase heard from Poppy about what was happening online, he sneered, "Matthew can't possibly still be alive. Isabella is up to something! I didn't realize she actually had some skills."

Poppy's eyes flickered. Seeing Chase so certain, she didn't say anything more, "Mr. Moore, I'll head out now."

"Okay." Chase said that, but out of curiosity, he still went online to watch clips from the livestream.

His heart was beating fast. Chase frowned and called Liam.

The call didn't go through, which made Chase even more uneasy. After trying twice with no answer, he could only call Cleo instead.

"Mom! Where's Dad? Why isn't he answering his phone?"

Cleo's breathing on the other end was somewhat rapid, "Your father is still at the police station."

"What?"

Could his earlier panic have been some kind of psychic connection?

"Mom, what's going on? Why is Dad at the police station?"

"He hit someone while driving drunk." Cleo said quickly, "Don't come yet, let us handle it first."

"Can you handle it?"

Chase's tone was a bit harsh. How could Liam be so foolish? It's not like they don't have drivers. How could he get drunk and drive himself, and then hit someone!

His first thought was Isabella, "Mom, did Isabella do this?"

"Not sure." Cleo hurriedly hung up.

Chase held his phone, thought for a moment, then called Faye.

"Chase, are you sick? Why are you calling me? From the moment your family schemed against us, we became strangers. Thanks for reminding me by calling—I'm blocking your number right now!"

Faye held a heavy grudge against Liam's family.

"Wait!" Chase called out to stop Faye.

But Faye didn't listen and blocked him directly.

"Psycho!"

Bianca glanced at Faye, "Chase suddenly calling you—could something have happened on their end?"

Isabella thought that made sense too.

Faye met their eyes, becoming uncertain as well.

"Could it be? Should I unblock him?"

"No need, he's calling me now."

Isabella held up her phone to show them both.

Faye and Bianca quickly moved closer to Isabella. Isabella put it on speaker.

"Getting scolded by Faye wasn't enough, now you're calling me so I can scold you too? Chase, your family really doesn't take people seriously. Aren't you afraid of karma?"

Isabella wasn't polite with Chase either.

Worried Isabella would hang up, Chase said directly, "There's no such thing as karma. Many things are man-made. I underestimated you all."

Isabella narrowed her eyes. Chase was implying something.

"Are you trying to trick me?"

She laughed coldly, "Chase, did something actually happen to your family as karma?"

Faye's eyes immediately lit up. She regretted hanging up too early earlier.

"You're overthinking it. I just saw you streaming often and thought you must be feeling helpless, so I called to check. Now that I've called, I feel relieved. You're doing terribly indeed!"

After saying that, Chase even laughed, extremely arrogant.

Faye cursed at him from the side.

"Chase, none of you are human!"

Seeing she couldn't get anything out of him, Isabella hung up directly.

"Something definitely happened to Liam's family. Faye, tell Mom to investigate."

Faye was still angry, but hearing Isabella say this, she paused for a moment before quickly going upstairs to find Ava.

Bianca stared at Isabella, "Isabella, what do you think happened to them?"

Isabella smiled, "Just those kinds of things anyway. Chase could still make calls, and his tone sounded normal. I think the problem might be with Cleo and Liam."

Ava got information quickly too. She smiled at everyone, "I heard from a friend that Liam hit and killed someone while driving drunk. They're keeping it quiet for now. Isabella, you guessed it right away!"

Faye looked at Isabella admiringly.

Isabella smiled gracefully, "Mom is the amazing one—she found out with one inquiry. I was just guessing. Mom, who's behind this? It's not like Liam's family doesn't have drivers. Even if they have connections to smooth over a drunk driving incident, it would still be leverage against them later."

Ava nodded, "Don't worry, I've also had people quietly investigate."
