Chapter 112 Wrong Timing
The tunnel smelled like ice, sweat, and metal.
Too quiet compared to the stadium above.
Every step Lenora took echoed more than it should’ve.
Kylen caught up fast behind her.
“This is insane,” he muttered. “You’re walking straight into a setup.”
“I already am in it,” she said without slowing down.
Lilibeth appeared next, breath slightly uneven.
“I hate when you get like this,” she snapped.
Lenora finally stopped near a corner of the tunnel.
Voices ahead.
Two men.
Still there.
Still talking.
One of them checked his phone again.
“We release it at the end of this shift,” he said.
The other nodded.
“Crowd will be fully engaged. No one will notice us leaving.”
Kylen leaned closer behind Lenora.
“That’s them.”
Lenora didn’t answer.
She was already watching.
Because now she saw what they were holding.
A tablet.
Paused video.
And even from here—
She recognized the frame.
Her.
Him.
Close.
Locker hallway.
That same moment.
Captured again.
Kylen whispered, “They’re feeding it live?”
“Worse,” Lenora said quietly.
“They’re timing it.”
Lilibeth’s face tightened.
“This is disgusting.”
Kylen glanced at Lenora.
“So what now?”
Lenora didn’t hesitate.
“Now we interrupt them.”
Before anyone could stop her—
She stepped out.
“Hey.”
Silence.
Immediate.
Both men turned sharply.
Lenora stood there calmly.
Hands steady.
Face unreadable.
The one with the phone frowned.
“Who are you?”
She tilted her head slightly.
“You don’t know?”
The second man’s expression changed.
Recognition flickered.
“…That’s her,” he muttered.
Kylen appeared behind her instantly.
“So you were planning this here,” he said sharply.
The first man scoffed.
“We’re not doing anything illegal.”
Lenora took one step closer.
“You’re stalking a minor on camera,” she said flatly. “That’s not complicated.”
The man holding the tablet tensed slightly.
“We’re documenting,” he corrected.
Lilibeth laughed from behind.
“Oh that’s rich.”
Kylen crossed his arms.
“Documenting what exactly?”
The man hesitated.
Just slightly.
That was enough.
Lenora noticed it immediately.
“You don’t even believe your own excuse,” she said quietly.
Silence again.
From above—
The stadium roared suddenly.
A goal.
The sound shook the tunnel.
Everyone flinched slightly.
Bad timing.
Very bad timing.
The man with the tablet straightened.
“We need to go,” he muttered.
Kylen stepped forward.
“No you don’t.”
The second man shifted slightly.
“This isn’t your business.”
Lenora looked at them both.
Then said softly,
“You made it my business when you used my face.”
That paused them.
Just for a second.
The man with the phone tried to step past her.
Kylen blocked him instantly.
“No.”
Tension snapped instantly.
The stadium above roared again.
Another shift in momentum.
But down here—
It was tightening fast.
Lenora stepped forward again.
“You’re not releasing anything today.”
The man smirked slightly.
“We already scheduled it.”
Lenora’s expression didn’t change.
“Cancel it.”
He laughed once.
“You think you can stop it?”
And that was the mistake.
Because Lenora reached out suddenly.
Grabbed the tablet.
Kylen blinked.
“Lenora—”
She already stepped back.
Holding it.
The man’s expression changed instantly.
“Give that back.”
“No.”
The second man moved forward.
Kylen stepped in.
Blocking him fully now.
Lilibeth pulled out her phone.
“Oh I am recording this.”
The first man looked panicked now.
“You don’t understand what you’re interfering with.”
Lenora looked down at the tablet.
Then back up.
“I understand enough.”
She swiped.
Locked screen.
Deleted queued upload.
The man rushed forward—
Kylen shoved him back instantly.
“Don’t touch her,” he snapped.
Everything froze for a second.
The stadium roared again above them.
Completely unaware.
Lenora held the tablet tighter.
Then looked at the man.
“You’re done.”
The man’s jaw tightened.
“This doesn’t end here.”
Lenora didn’t blink.
“Yes,” she said.
“It does.”
Above them, the game was still going.
The hockey boy checked the puck again, then glanced toward the stands.
Something felt wrong.
Again.
He skated slightly slower for half a second.
Looking.
Searching.
And then—
He saw her.
Not in the stands.
In the tunnel entrance.
Holding something.
Standing still.
Not alone.
His expression shifted immediately.
Focus breaking for the first time all game.
He pushed off harder.
Moving toward the shift change.
Because whatever was happening down there—
It was about to collide with everything up here.
