Chapter 74 - Megan's Dream
[SIX YEARS EARLIER.]
"Hey!" I called the weird man who was not far from my direction.
I immediately ran towards him. My mouth dropped when I saw him and his face.
"Why?" he asked.
I just kept looking into his eyes. All over his face. I don't want to believe that I'm in heaven but it looks like he's the living proof. He looks like an angel!
"Miss, are you okay?" He asked again but I just gasped.
It was only when he touched me that I became fully aware. I immediately backed away and gave him a sharp look.
"Did you bring me here?" I asked him.
He frowned and scratched his head.
"No. I don't even know what place this is." He said while looking around us.
I also looked around the whole place. An abandoned house that was pure white in color. It is ruined because its wall stones are already on the ground. There are no tools left and only the foundation and floor are left. There was a big tree in front of us, far from our direction and many plants.
Shit! Where am I?
"I've been here for a while but I just saw you. I mean, I didn't see you earlier when I was looking for people to rescue me." I heard him say.
I looked at him and saw that he was sitting on a rock there. I heave a sigh and just sit next to him. "How did I get here? I don't remember anything." I whispered to myself.
"Why are you whispering? You can share something with me." I heard him say.
I avoided looking at him because his image was too perfect for me.. and it was really intimidating.
"Nothing. I wanna go home. Where are you from? Maybe we can go together." I said to him and immediately looked away from him.
I looked at my feet. In the shoes I was wearing and in his shoes. He moves his legs like mine. The one that seems to go along with the beat of a song.
Who is this? Why do we seem to be the only two in this place?
"I don't know. I can't remember," he said weakly.
I frowned and looked at him. He was bent over and just staring at every movement of our feet. His forehead was furrowed and there was a strange sadness on his face.
"What don't you know? You don't know where you live? How are you going to get home?" I asked him one after another.
He looked up. He looked at that tree and smiled. I was amazed at what I saw. He's smiling like he has nothing to worry about even though he just seemed to be depressed.
"Uh, what if I go with you?" He said casually then looked at me.
My eyes widened for a moment when I finally saw that beautiful smile of his. He has a complete set of teeth. His white teeth and his pink lips are killing me! Only now have I seen such beautiful smiles.
"What? Is it okay?" he asked again with a smile so I immediately looked away from him.
"H-huh? I-it's not possible, what are you!" I protested even though I wanted to say yes to what he was saying.
Because of! He looks decent and rich. His clothes were white and the black jeans he was wearing looked like they were new. His looks are a bonus but still, he looks so innocent. I can't read his thoughts.
Will I trust him immediately?
"Why? I can work. I won't be a burden to you. I just need a place to live," he said in a low voice again.
I scratched my head and stood up straight to avoid his question.
"Hey wait! There's iron there-"
"Tactful!" I screamed as my foot hit the protruding iron and fell straight into his chest.
"A-aw," I heard him whisper so my eyes widened.
"Shit! Sorry! Wait-"
I was about to stand up but I couldn't because he was holding my hands tightly. I looked at him again who was still closing his eyes as if the pain in his back was really taking over. I bit my lower lip and slowly removed his hand from mine.
"S-sorry," I uttered and stood up.
I just watched him stand up, shake his back, and sit.
"Are you okay? Be careful next time. What if I'm not here now?" he told me seriously while still shaking.
I just stared at him until he came straight and looked at me. At the same time as he smiled widely, a strong wind also blew, causing both of our hair to fly with it.
I gasped when her long hair rose because of the wind.
"Who are you? What is your name?"

I quickly fell back on my bed when I felt something cold in my stomach. I sat up on the bed and looked around my room. It was dark. That tree was gone. There are no plants. The abandoned house was gone. He was not here . . .
Was I just dreaming? But why was he so real? That smile on his face, why did it seem so real?
Damn it! Who was that man?
***
"I don't know. I just felt something strange." I told her and held my head.
"And that something strange you're talking about is looking for him? Are you crazy, Megan? You don't even know if that man exists." Amy said in shock and rolled her eyes in the air.
I was stunned and stared at my computer screen. Since I woke up this morning, I haven't been able to sleep again because of that guy. There's nothing else in my brain right now but her face, those smiles of his.
I don't know why! I don't know what that dream wants to convey to me. Usually when I dream, I can't remember the faces. What did it look like or where did it happen? But this guy is fucking killing me because of curiosity!
This is the first time I've had a dream like this. I mean, it's really strange because I remember everything completely. His face, what he looks like, the things we talked about and that place. It feels like he's real. The scenario is real! What's the meaning of this?
"If you want to find him, I'll help you. But how? How do we start? Where do we start?" I heard her say to me behind my back.
I stared blankly at my FBook account. I want to think of a way but nothing comes into my head.
Can I find him this way? Using technology? I don't think so.
"I don't know but I want . . . I need to find him, Amy."
I think so . . .
"So, how can we find that guy in your dream? What does he look like? Is he handsome? Can your panties drop because of him?" Amy asked me with a smile.
I just tortured her and that man's face spontaneously appeared in my brain.
I smiled when I remembered his smile again. "He has this beautiful smile, Amy. . ."
His dark hair is quite long but still, he still looks good on him. Still a man. His eyebrows are thick, his brown eyes are deep, his eyelashes are also long and thick. The nose is not straight, the lips are red and his complete set of teeth. Damn! I still remember exactly what he said.
"Tall . . . I think he is six feet. White and well built." I finally told her.
I turned to Amy and saw her wide smile while looking somewhere. I just cursed when I realized what she was doing. I immediately hit her on the arm so she screamed.
"You're a shit! What's wrong with you?" She asked me irritated then pulled a chair and sat next to me.
I just looked at her while she was looking at my computer screen.
"Stop dreaming about him."
"I'm sorry! The way you describe him is too perfect. Did you see any imperfections in him? Even one? It doesn't seem realistic." She casually told me and started fiddling with my computer.
"Nothing. What I told you, that's it."
"And what are you planning? How do we start the search? Don't tell me, through social media. How come we don't know his name? Didn't he say it?" she asked me one after another.
I was starting to get annoyed because of the many questions she asked, especially when I remembered the last thing that happened in my dream.
I woke up before he said his name . . .
I tried my best that time just to fall asleep again and dream about him but I failed. And this is my problem now . . .
How could I find him if I didn't have even a clue?
I turned back to Amy who was still scrolling down my news feed.
"What do we do, Megan? What do you suggest?" she asked while still focusing on the screen.
I closed my eyes and bowed.
"I don't know. I need your help."
"So what? What if we travel? I mean, we travel more often now. We have a better chance of meeting new people when we travel." She said with a smile.
I raised my eyebrows and turned to her.
"You're speaking as if I am allowed to do that," I said and tormented her.
I heard her laugh and she directly faced me.
"Okay. That's it. Let's stroll. Come with me, quick!" She said excitedly and pulled me out of my room.
"So? Why are we here?" I asked her who just looked straight at everyone we met.
Before now she had not moved and was just staring at the passers-by. I think this woman is going crazy!
"I thought you were smart? Aren't you running for Cum Laude? Where is your brain, Ms. Megan Hidalgo?" she sarcastically said to me and tortured me.
I scratched my head in annoyance. "What are we doing here at the mall?"
She stopped and so I am. She looked at me intently.
"Listen to me carefully," she said and continued walking again like an investigator.
I'm really sure, even the men she stares at are already in awe of her.
"What?"
"Because based on your description, he's rich and looks like he's a mall-goer, you know, so it's likely! We can see him here." She said and walked even faster.
I just frowned at what she did and just followed her.
We spent almost five hours in that mall just for her suggestion but we got nothing. It took us until the night because the witch was still shopping. Fortunately, I have nothing to do today because it is a long weekend due to the holiday. The continuation of the office is still next week.
"See you tomorrow, Ms. Megan. I'm sorry. Don't worry, I'll pray that you dream about him again so he can tell you what his name is, okay?"
I nodded to her lazily and she got out of my car.
"Okay take care," I said to her.
She waved and then continued. I sighed heavily and frowned as I entered the house.
This is kinda stressful and tiring but I won't give up. Not now. I am just starting.
***
"You didn't dream about him again? Too bad!" Amy told me sadly when I answered her question.
She sat down next to me and sighed heavily as if she had the big problem now. We're at the pantry and I told her to enter my office since I was so bored and my mind was too occupied because of that man.
I don't know why I dreamt about him when I hadn't even met him in the first place. His face is new to me. That was the first time I encountered a man like him. He is too good to be true, especially his face. He is just too beautiful to be a man. Is he even a real person to begin with?
"I don't know why not. I tried to think about him all night but I failed. Nothing." I told her and sipped on my coffee.
"I have an idea, Ms. Megan. What if you sketch him? I mean, his face and then put it under your pillow before you sleep. Someone told me that it was effective. It really should be a picture but since you have no picture of him, maybe it's just a sketch? What do you think? You're good at drawing, aren't you?" She explained to me.
I got stuck in a sentence of the book I was reading because of what she said. I don't know if I agreed with her suggestion correctly but I think it's a good idea.
It was kinda stupid but I wanted to do this. Just now.
"I'll try that one," I told her and went back to my office.
I spent almost five hours sketching his face before I went straight to the pantry again when I felt hungry. Amy isn't here because I need her to do something for me outside. I just hoped I would be able to find that man. I don't know why I suddenly became curious about him.

[PRESENT TIME AT THE COFFEE SHOP]
"What am I supposed to do, Javier? I lived with you for over a year, telling me what I should do with things... And now that I'm lost, what am I supposed to do? If I choose you again this time, will you come back to me?" Megan whispered to herself as she stared outside the coffee shop.
Marco left her at that place earlier, and until now, she couldn't even move.
Not until she saw a familiar man walking to the park in front of the Hidalgo Empire.
"Javier..."
