Born of Love, Raised by Lies 2

Born of Love, Raised by Lies 2
Everything I knew shattered. Every cold glance, every harsh word from the Luna… it all made sense now.

“She’s hated me,” I whispered, the realization crushing my chest. “All these years. Not because I disappointed her but because I wasn’t really hers.”

“She raised you,” he said gently. “But yes. You’re her punishment and her reminder.”

My throat tightened, the room spinning.

“And Susan…” I choked. “She was my real mother?”

He nodded, slowly, like each movement took everything out of him.

“I failed her, Adam. I failed both of you. If I had just ignored that damned meeting… you would’ve grown up knowing her. You would’ve known her laugh. Her scent. Her love.”

The ache in my chest burst into something sharp, something raw. I staggered to my feet, the chair scraping behind me.

“So I’m not even fully werewolf?” I asked, but the answer was already clawing inside me.

“You carry her blood,” he said. “It flows in you. That’s why you’re… different.“

Her name hit me like a lightning bolt.

Of course.

Of course it was her.

Half of me had always belonged to the human world. The half I never understood until now.

I stumbled back, my legs shaky, heart in freefall.

“I need to go,” I said, my voice hoarse. “I need to breathe. I need”

I didn’t finish.

I just turned and stormed out of the study. The heavy wooden door slammed behind me, echoing like thunder.

The cold night air hit me like a slap. I let it burn my lungs.

The trees blurred as I moved through the woods, branches clawing at my arms like ghosts. My vision swam, not just with tears but with questions. With fury. With confusion.

Who was I?

A creature born of betrayal?

A hybrid straddling two worlds never fully belonging to either?

My fists clenched at my sides.

I needed to talk to someone. Someone who wouldn’t look at me with pity or regret.

Selena.

She always saw me for who I was… even when I didn’t.

I had to find her.

I had to go to Bloodfang Pack.

Because right now, I didn’t know how to carry this truth alone.

And she was the only one who might understand what the hell I was supposed to do next.
