Chapter 4
jessica rode the attention wave like a pro.
Posted a huge exposé, acting like she was some poor victim speaking up against me.
She said I was sleeping with different guys while still on campus.
Said I had no morals.
And the internet? Ate it up.
Sure, a few people tried to stay neutral- “Don’t judge without knowing the full story-but they got drowned out by a flood of insults.
Thousands of comments stacked up like bricks in her comment section.
And then Ryan.
Yeah, he popped up in her new video-like theyd rehearsed the whole thing
Played the heartbroken ez.
Cried on camera.
Said he gave me everything and 1 ‘betrayed him.
The internet wept.
Men like you don’t deserve that kind of pain.”
You deserve someone better.”
Don’t let her break your heart, King.”
Some girls even offered themselves up in the comments.
Desperate.
And that last line from him?
Chef’s kiss.
ust enough fake sympathy to stir the pot even more- “Please don’t bully Mia. She’s already broken.”
tight.
Like he cared.
Then they came for me.
My socials got doxxed.
My inbox exploded.
Hundreds of strangers telling me to die, calling me names, threatening my family.
All based on lies.
They called it justice.”
They had no idea they were just being used.
Last time, those words tore me apart.
I couldn’t sleep
I started beleving them
1 spiraled into depression
But this time?
1 stared at my DMs, mone faced
Some of the hate was laughably stoped.
The serious threats? Screenshones
Every vile message-documented
You want to send me a gift?
Fine.
111 send it right back-wrapped up nice for the cogn
The internet’s not lawless.
Youll all get what’s coming
then the “gifts” started coming
A dead rat
black and white photo of me like I’d died
crusty pair of men’s underwear
Disgusting.
ut I kept every single one.
Imbothered.
eople started whispering that I’d snapped
Laybe I had.
inals were coming up when Jessica finally showed her far on campus agam
eople’s curiosity flared back to life.
hey even placed bets on the forum
Will Mia lose her mind and go after Jessica?”
didn’t go looking for Jessica.
he came to me.
After my 8 AM lecture, she was waiting outside.
A whole crowd had gathered, watching.
And like always, she knew how to work a stage.
Take tears
Dramatic stares
Lorile gange like she had something so important to say but just couldn 1.
She was good.
Gorgeous girl with teary eyes?
Instant sympathy.
“You don’t have to be afraid,” someone said.
“We’re here for you.”
“Tell us what she did. We’ve got your back.”
Jessica sniffled.
Then spoke.
“Mia. I just said a few honest things. That’s all.
I never thought she’d go this far. Please… just stop. I won’t say anything ever again.”
The crowd ate it up.
Their eyes burned into me, waiting for a meltdown.
I leaned back on a desk, watching the show.
Jessica caught my blank stare.
Her panic flickered for a split second, but she kept going.
Someone yelled.
She bullied you, didn’t she? Say it! We’ll help you!”
She can’t scare you anymore!”
essica gave a dramatic little flinch, like just looking at me terrified her.
lashes from phone cameras went off around us.
then, for the big finale-she pulled out her phone.
Look,” she said,
These are the threats I got. From her.”
creenshots of someone threatening her–if she didn’t shut up, they’d “deal with her.”
Lew people gasped.
komeone pointed at the screen.
“Wait-isn’t that Mia’s Instagram handle?”
Bingo.
Right on cue.
“She’s the one sleeping around and now she’s mad people are talking?”
“Wait, she threatened someone? Can we call campus security or something?”
“Ugh, I can’t believe I go to the same school as this trash.”
“Well, you’re still breathing the same air-why haven’t you dropped dead from disgust yet?”
Taylor shoved through the crowd just in time to throw that one back.
“Taylor, come on, that was harsh! That girl was probably just upset and spoke out of turn.”
Jessica shrank the second Taylor showed up.
Her voice went all quiet, and her hands started shaking like she was about to faint.
Big fat tears hit the floor one after another.
“Oh my God, look at her-she’s terrified! They’ve probably been bullying her in the dorm!”
“Poor Jessica… we’ve gotta do something! We can’t let bullies get away with this!”
Watching her act all helpless while dragging Taylor into her little circus made me sick.
It was the same tired game on repeat.
But I wasn’t the same Mia anymore. Not this time.
