Before I could finish dressing myself, Grace had already put on her clothes, opened the door and waited beside the elevator, her legs still trembling slightly.
Her pants upon observing carefully, I noticed dried-up residue from our fierce encounter.
Time was ticking away.
As I pulled on my pants and made my way downstairs with my phone in hand to flag down a cab, a video message popped up from an unknown number.
I hesitated before tapping on it, feeling a sudden rush of nerves.
The message asked: [David, is this you?]
Followed by a half-hour video of Grace and me in a compromising position, which was exactly when I had been with her at the emergency exit.
The footage seemed to be taken from a sneaky angle, maybe from above the staircase.
I glanced around in confusion, the staircase railing swirling before my eyes, making me dizzy.
But there was no suspicious figure in sight, not even a shadow.
Panic started to creep in my heart. Someone had peeped and secretly recorded our private moment, and I had no clue who this person was.
Could anything be more ridiculous than this?
What if this person leaked the video tomorrow? Then my reputation in the conpany would be toast!
Startled and frustrated, I quickly texted back: [Who are you?]
The response caught me off guard: [I knew you'd be a wild one in bed! Going at it on the staircase for half an hour!]
The message was paired with an admiring and salivating emoji.
The language felt oddly familiar. Where had I heard it before?
I wracked my brain and remembered hearing something similar in the HR department.
I probed again: [Are you from HR?]
The other party replied: [Wanna find out? Come to the hotel across the street from the office, room 909.]
Without any doubt, I wanted to find out!
I pocketed my phone, dashed down a couple of steps, and made a beeline for the hotel across the street.
It was a swanky five-star joint with top-notch soundproofing.
That person sure knew how to pick a spot!
As I breezed past the front desk, I got halted."Hey there, please check in first," the receptionist's soft voice chimed.
I followed the sound and approached the front desk.
I explained, "My buddy just booked a room, number 909. Can you point me in the right direction?"
"Are you sure it's 909?" the receptionist looked surprised.
I asked with confusion. "Yeah, any problem?"
The receptionist replied, "The ninth floor is the fantasy suite. Only one guy came to check in just now, room 909."
A guy? No way. The person interested in me was a guy? I didn't hear any guy say that in the HR department today.
I nodded despite my confusion. "I'm positive. Hand over the key card."
"Okay, have a good evening," the receptionist reluctantly passed me the key card.
I took the key card and left, shooting a message to the unknown contact as I headed towards the elevator.
"What a bummer. Such a good-looking guy, and he's into guys," the receptionist's regretful voice echoed.
Hearing the receptionist's sigh, I almost shot back, "Bullshit, I'm into women, women!"
But today, I was fixated on finding out who had filmed me without my consent.
I stepped into the elevator and messaged the unknown contact: [Who are you, really?]
The cryptic reply came: [You'll find out soon.]
The unknown contact remained tight-lipped about their identity. In no time, I reached the ninth floor.
The entire floor was decked out in themed fantasy suites, with even the corridor tastefully decorated.
Pink walls adorned with flowers, each room had a unique nameplate.
I reached room 909, labeled "Passion Unleashed."
If it was a woman inside, we could unleash our passion, but if it was a man, I'd make sure he regretted it.
Using the key card, I unlocked the door.
The room was pitch black and empty, making it impossible to see anything.
I cautiously stepped inside, feeling for the light switch on the wall.
Before I could flick it on, my eyes were covered.
What was going on?
Alert, I swiftly grabbed the person's wrist, ready to defend myself, but the touch felt different from a man's.
It was delicate and soft, with smaller wrist bones, at least half the size of mine.
Could it be a woman?
Assuming it might be a woman, I unconsciously softened my tone. "Come on, turn on the lights."
I even spoke gently, not wanting to startle her.
"Guess who I am," she said in a deliberately rough voice.
Yet, I could still sense the tenderness in her tone.
I shifted my weight back, leaning into her chest.
It was soft and full, she was definitely a woman!
"Are you Molly?" I whispered.
The woman behind me seemed momentarily taken aback, her movements stiff, as if she hadn't expected me to guess correctly.
I seized the chance to remove her hand from my eyes and turned to face her.
I flicked on the lights in the room.
She wore a cap that hid her hair, intentionally disguised as a man.
"How did you know it's me?" Molly inquired, meeting my gaze.
Her amber eyes seemed to transport me to a sunlit lake, warming me from within.
Just gazing into her eyes, I felt spellbound.
I hesitated and answered, "Because... I like you. I've been keeping an eye on you."
Molly's eyes lit up, "Really?"
I nodded eagerly, "Absolutely. The moment I laid eyes on you, I was hooked!"
Her words, "Want to make love with me," grabbed my attention, wasn't that love at first sight?
Especially with her dimpled smile and bright eyes, she seemed like an innocent girl.
Not only did she desire me, but I desired her too.
Molly asked, "Really? Then why did you come to the hotel so casually?"
I chuckled and explained, "I was guessing if it was you who messaged me. The reception downstairs said a man booked the room. I thought, if it was you, I wouldn't mind. But if it was a man, I'd give him a piece of my mind."
Molly burst into laughter, stepping closer to me, whispering, "I'm glad it's me in your thoughts."
I quickly brought up my real worry. "But how did you see me..."
I couldn't bring myself to say the words "getting busy in the emergency exit" out loud!
