Chapter 162

When he said that, I got what he was hinting at.

Alice's family was loaded, so bribing her with cash like Robert did with Emily was out of the question.

So, they were banking on a young, good-looking guy like me to catch Alice's eye.

By then, I had already pulled up Alice's info on my phone.

She was a top actress and an international model. She stood almost 5'9" with legs about 3'9" long, making her nearly as tall as me.

The photo I found was from a recent runway show, taken by fans.

It was a promo shot for the Summer Carnival, and she was rocking a sexy bikini.

Her top was just two tiny pieces of fabric, barely covering her chest.

With every step she took, her breasts swayed, and those little points of her nipples were even more eye-catching.

She was only wearing a thong below, with a thin piece of fabric covering her crotch and butt, and her lower abdomen wrapped in mesh fabric.

Her abs were faintly visible, showing off her toned body.

It was clear she hit the gym regularly.

Looking at her face, she seemed unapproachable, and probably a bit aloof. So, I wasn't too confident about winning her over.

Maybe a strong, independent woman like her already had a boyfriend. And maybe he was just as good as me?

"I'm not sure if she'd be into me," I said, scratching my head awkwardly.

The executive chairman got up, walked over, patted my shoulder, and said, "Believe in yourself. We've checked, and Alice is single. As long as you're persistent, it shouldn't be too hard to win her over."

With that, he buttoned up his suit and left the conference room, with Robert and a few other leaders following him.

I slowly walked out of the conference room, and as soon as I stepped out, John came up to me.

"Dude! What's going on? How does the company's president know you?"

John's loud voice caught the attention of our colleagues, who paused their work and looked at me.

They seemed curious about what was going on between me and Robert.

I figured I couldn't keep it a secret anymore.

I explained, "Actually, my brother and Mr. Williams are neighbors, and my brother's wife is good friends with Mrs. Williams, so Mr. Williams knows me a bit."

"Wow! You've got such a good family background, why did you keep it from me?" John exclaimed.

Even the other colleagues chimed in, "I heard Mr. Williams lives in a super fancy villa area around here. If David's brother lives there, then David's family must be pretty well off too."

John looked at me again, reminded of something. "Yeah! Why'd you give up living in a comfy big villa to squeeze into a rental house with me and Emily?"

That question put me in a tough spot.

I couldn't exactly say I moved out to have more chances to hook up with Scarlett in my room, could I?

If that got out, Ryan and I would definitely have a falling out.

Besides, I didn't realize Ryan's villa had such a reputation; I thought it was just a regular villa.

But John didn't seem to dwell on it and was really grateful. "You must've done it to support me and Emily's part-time plan, right?"

"Yes, yes! That's exactly what I thought!" I quickly agreed.

I felt a huge sense of relief, thankful he came up with a reason for me.

"You really are my best friend! I want to be friends for life!" John said, trying to hug me.

"Alright, alright, I need to get back to work, and I have to go out later." I laughed awkwardly and quickly ended the conversation, heading back to my desk.

But John was persistent, following me. "But I'm curious about what you talked about in the conference room. Can you share?"

I explained quickly, "The company decided to hire brand ambassadors. They found a female star but couldn't find a suitable male star, so they asked me to try it."

"Really? Who's the female star? What's her name?" John asked, surprised.

"Her name is Alice Baker," I replied while typing on the keyboard.

"Damn!" A thunderous exclamation erupted in the office, and all eyes were on me again.

"What's wrong? Is there something special about her?" I asked, confused.

"Of course! She's the sister of the biggest investor in our city! You have no idea how much the investor dotes on Alice!" John explained.

I knew her family was wealthy, but I didn't expect her background to be this impressive.

On one side, there's Catherine, the daughter of the city's richest man, and on the other, Alice, the sister of the biggest investor.

If I could win over these two women and make them infatuated with me, wouldn't it be much easier to start my own business in the future?

I suddenly felt full of energy. In addition to taking photos with Alice, I'd be willing to shoot an entire night of adult films with her if it meant making her like me as much as Catherine did.

But in front of so many colleagues, I tried to stay calm and said, "With such an impressive background, I feel a lot of pressure taking photos with her. What if I don't do well and lower her standards?"

As soon as I said that, the office fell silent.

John muttered, "That's true. I read in entertainment news that Alice has a pretty bad temper. As a friend, I wish you good luck."

With that, John turned and went back to his desk.

By this time, I had finished my work and leaned back in my chair, trying to learn more about Alice through videos.

Then I found a gym endorsed by Alice and noticed it was quite close to our company.

This reminded me that I hadn't worked out much since starting this job.

Now, when I squeezed my arm muscles, they felt much softer.
