Kill him
Kill him
Selene
There was a fear of being killed and then there was a fear of being unveiled in front of Darian—I couldn't let either of that happen. Darian wore a smug grin on his face and so did Roger. These men were going to be the death of me.
I shook my head, "I'm not going to fight Roger," I announced, making myself real clear. Roger knew exactly what he was doing. Fighting against him would force me to reveal my wolf and that's exactly what he wanted. He knew that I wouldn't shift and that would make me vulnerable to his wolf and at the end of the day, he'd win by killing me.
"I don't care. You are going too," Darian said, folding his hands and flexing his biceps. I looked away. He smelled like a female and it was that wolf-girl he bought last night to the packhouse. It made me jealous.
He was mine.
Focus.
"And, if I don't?" I asked, raising my brow and challenging him.
"Then, I will force you,"
I opened my mouth to say something but John cut me off, "She doesn't has to, Alpha."
"You don't get to make decisions here. How about you go inside?" Darian snapped at him, angrily.
John gave me a remorseful glance and then walked back inside the packhouse. The other males around Darian waited, waited for my death, that's what they were here for, to enjoy and celebrate as one of theirs killed me. Roger was smart and strong but he couldn't match with my wolf if I turned.
I was too vicious.
Untamed.
"Fine. Don't be surprised if I kill your little bitch," I cursed at him and then went ahead to battle with Roger as I had no other option left.
"Good luck," I heard Darian say as I removed my jacket and pushed my hair into a ponytail.
"Fuck you, Darian."
Roger didn't take a second to remove his shirt. He proudly revealed his pack off abs and inched towards me, his every step calling for a threat. "Are you ready?" He asked, smiling like a fool.
"Ready for your death? More than ever," I said, gritting my teeth together and smoothing the sweat off my hands. I bought my hands in front of me, ready to defend myself from whatever was going to be thrown at my direction.
There were a few times I had fought against wolves but those all times were when I was young. It had been a while now and all I had learned through the years was to run—I was only good at that, especially being here in the city. As a child, I was trained by a very powerful Alpha at that time, he broke me, forced me to shift thousands of times, tore me into shreds, let me heal and repeated that all over again until I was strong enough.
That ripped a part from me.
"Oh, lovely, aren't you over-confident? Not good," Roger winked, getting on all fours. He was going to shift.
"Fight me in your human state," I said, backing away, not wanting to shift.
"And, why would I do that?"
"Because you know you're weak as a human and I'm stronger than you," I replied, clearly panicking.
There was a shift of emotions on his face and he stood back on his legs. These male wolves always liked a challenge—especially from a female. "Fine," he gave in while lunging at me. "Don't plead for your life,"
"Oh, you'll be pleading for yours," I whispered.
My fingernails extended into claws and raw energy seared through me. I took a steadying breath and Roger did the same. It was possible to shift into a half-wolf. His eyes turned into a wild shade of red and with that, he attacked me, his growls vibrating through his chest as he launched at me with primal strength.
It was going to be nice, defeating a male wolf after years.
My pulse spiked in alarm as Roger appeared in front of me to rip out my throat. His leg whipped around the air and almost touched my head but I moved away just in time. It was about defending rather than trying to get myself killed. There was a thin moment where Roger was vulnerable, preparing for his next strike but before he could even touch me, I thrust my wicked, filthy claws into his stomach, and drew blood out of him, forcing an instinctual growl of pain out of him.
I used my other hand to grab his neck and then shoved my claws into his fragile skin at the back of his head. A muffled groan escaped his mouth with the pain I put him into.
Coming closer, I whispered, "You're always going to lose, don't bother with this and end this before you get yourself killed." It was a simple warning that I hoped he'd get.
From the corner of my eyes, I looked over at Darian who surveyed us silently, he didn't look thrilled as he was before this all got started.
Roger's rasping breath made its way to my ears and I looked down at him, he was bowing to me with pain. "Get your filthy claws off me and then I will tell you who's going to get killed,"
He wrapped his hand around my wrist and slowly pushed me away. I tried to fight against his strength but he seemed to me more stronger now and it confused me.
"What are you doing?" I asked, my eyes quirking with curiosity. Roger couldn't have that kind of strength until—
"I'm shifting, bitch. Let's see what you'll do," He threw me on the ground and then shifted into a werewolf.
My heartbeat increased as I watched him shift into a monster. The bone-cracking and the splitting of the skin terrified me. I wasn't ready to fight against a wolf. His fur appeared and his face morphed into a monstrous wolf. He lunged in the air and landed above me, I was still on the ground, trying to swallow the surprise of him shifting into a wolf.
That wasn't a part of the agreement.
The problem was, it took hell a lot of time to heal from anything that a werewolf did. Any injury that Roger would give me would take a week to properly heal, with or without medicine—it would hurt like a bitch.
And just as I expected, Roger slashed his savage, six-inch claws into my chest, almost ripping my heart out.
Sharp pain laced through me and I let out a loud, terrifying scream. Blur spots appeared in front of my eyes, it felt like my whole body was on fire and needles were being punctured into me in an endless rhythm. I grabbed whatever was beside me. Grass. Mud. I lifted and turned around, pressing my stomach against the ground and moving my hands away from my chest.
I brought my palm towards my face and I saw it covered with blood—a lot of it—my own fucking blood. I tasted it in my mouth as well, getting ready to spurt out.
Motherfucker.
Without a warning, I felt a sharp pain rip through my back as Roger shoved his claws inside me again. The pain amplified and I coughed out blood. Every muscle in my body quivered and tears swirled at the edges of my eyes.
Before he could kill me, I found a little strength to run away from Roger and his filthy wolf. The ache didn't stop and it wasn't going to anytime soon.
I raised my head to look at the males standing, hoping any of them would come for my rescue—hoping Darian could come for my rescue—but he didn't. He stood there and watched me without any remorse in his eyes, it caused me more pain than what was crippling inside me.
I let out a soft blow as a tear escaped my eyes. This wasn't going to be the end of me. I wasn't going to get defeated. I was a woman of my own, I fought for myself, made my own rules, and survived.
I survived.
For four fucking years.
There was no way I was going to let a wolf kill me.
I pushed my pain aside and shifted into a wild beast. A beast that couldn't be harmed or defeated.
My wolf.
