“You did that on purpose trying to prove a point”, I said.
“Damn straight”, he said as he kissed my forehead.
“Great now the office smells like sex and everyone is on their way here", I said smelling the air.
“I thought the meeting was going to take place in Michael’s office”, James said.
“No, my office”, I said.
“Does everyone know that? Michael included”, he asked
“The meeting is in my office in case anyone does not know”, I said sending a mind link to everyone.
“And when was this decided?”, Michael asked.
“Just now since an office was not destinated”, I said to Michael
“And this is why you’ll need one damn office”, Gar said.
“Will it kill you to walk another two feet?”, I asked.
“No, but I do not want my pregnant mate to walk another two feet”, Gar said.
“Carry her”, I said.
“How about the conference room it is bigger and can comfortably seat all of us and a pregnant royal Beta”, Michael said.
“Alright”, I said rolling my eyes.
James cleaned me up. That is one thing about James he loves the aftercare of sex just as much as he loves having sex. Once I was cleaned I grabbed my laptop and we walked to the conference room. Everyone is waiting including Orland who looks scared as hell. A smile came across his face when he saw me.
“Hello everyone”, I said as I walked in.
“Now that we are all here, October floor is yours”, Michael said.
October got up and smiled at everyone. He started his proposal as we followed. I was surprised that he was able to insert the maternity leave policy in detail and on such short notice. He is very good at this. I glanced at Michael and James as they wrote questions, they had down. Mason, Gar, Oro, Aldo, Zavia, Scott, and Shaull all look impressed.
“Any questions?", October asked.
“Yes, companies that can't afford to pay maturity for a year where will they get the money?”, Aldo asked
“As for those companies that can't afford to pay maturity for a year should come and ask for help by filling out a form. The form will be revised based on need. And if approved the money will go directly to the employee”, October said.
“Why not give the money to the employer?”, Mason asked.
“Because it belongs to the employee”, October said.
“Are their jobs secure? Can anyone apply for it or is it for single women only?”, I asked.
“Those employers who cannot afford to pay for leave will be required to hold the employees' position as long as the business is actively running as well as those who can afford to pay it”, October said.
“That's a great idea”, Gar said.
“Matted and unmated women can apply for leave either through their job or the board as long as they have a work history of one year before expecting or are actively working”, October said.
“Where will the money come from for the employers that can pay?”, James asked.
Orlando’s suggested to induce an employer tax for everyone in the kingdom. He explained that even though he expects most of the money to come from the crown dudes. But figured that the money collected from the tax would help keep the fund funded. When asked how will it be determined. What businesses will have to pay for their employees leave? October answer businesses with less than 200 employees can refer their employees to the board of social services. Businesses that have 201 or more employees will have to pay their employees.
“How fast can you set this up?”, I asked.

“Social services are more of a human thing. I am not sure if I can find shifter staff that knows how to do the job”, October said.
“But you know how to do it”, mom said.
“Yes, I went to shifter college and realized it was lacking. Right now, I am in a human college. And my mate was human at some point”, October said with a shrug.
“So, you are telling me your wonderful idea might not be able to happen due to a lack of people who know how to do the job?”, I asked shocked.
“Yes, and no. Either we hire humans or find another way”, October said.
“Humans?’, Mom asked.
“Yes, more like humans who know about shifters. I am not talking about humans who write those shifter books and think they know us Such as humans mated to shifters, or humans who are related to someone who is a shifter either by marriage or blood. Humans who already know. ”, he said.
“And how do you plan on us to do that?”, Michael asked.
“A simple announcement will do. Those who are interested can apply. I can do the interviews. I am sure if I need help the council will help”, October said with pride.
“How about an announcement open to all in the kingdom and humans mated to shifters”, Mōʻīwahin suggested.
“I like that idea”, I said.
I e-mailed every pack in the kingdom letting them know about the new positions. In the e-mail I put it is for shifters and their human mates. I listed the minimum requirements for the job as October specified. Before I sent the e-mail everyone read it and agreed it was good. I didn’t realize that it was lunchtime until there was a knock on the door.
Michael opened it some workers were holding plates. I see there is some food in the castle now. Steaks, sandwiches, salads, and drinks. We all dig in even Orlando. I notice Michael and James are giving October death stares because he and I are having a conversation. My mates can be assholes sometimes.
“So, guys how are Adalinda and Cadmus settling in?’, I asked Tanyin, Mōʻīwahine, Vulverin.
“They are doing better than I expected”, Tanyin said with a snort.
“So, you did not believe in them?”, Mōʻīwahine asked getting mad.
“That's not what I said”, Tanyin said looking to Vulverin for help.
“Explain”, she said giving him the side eye.
“I just thought the council no offense Mason, Scott, and Shaull. Would give them a hard time that’s all”,
“So, you are disappointed they are not having a hard time?”, Mōʻīwahine asked.
“Oh, my goddess dude just tells her the truth”, Vulverin said.
That’s when everyone stopped eating. Keeping a secret from a mate is taboo. Granted my mates do it a lot. But these three wrote books on having a successful triad relationship. All of us watch them waiting for Vulverin to explain.
“I do not want to repeat myself”, Mōʻīwahine said looking at both of her mates.
I tried not to laugh. Here we have a small fairy who is scaring the shit out of a fucking dragon. I am trying so hard not to laugh. I glance over and Mom, Oro, and Zavia who are trying to hold on to their laughs as well.
“A part of me wanted them to have problems. So that our princess can run to her daddies for help”, Vulverin looks like he is ready to cry.
Vulverin explained that he was having a hard time letting his little girl go. She is their first daughter and she is all groaned up and he can't take it. The fact that she can handle her own without her daddies scares him and they are having a good time.
“We talked about this guys. She is an adult you can't keep her in a box all her life”, Mōʻīwahine said annoyed.
“No, we just wanted to keep her with us until her mates come. And if he was worthy of her, we would have left her to go with him
“So, you wanted to be the dragon keeping the princess in the tower. While you Tanyin wanted to be the big bad wolf that keeps all of the men away”, Mōʻīwahine said shaking her head.
“Why are you upset?”, Vulverin asked.
“Because you two are like this with the girls but let the boys do whatever they want", she said.
“We are Alpha and Kings, it is our job to protect our children, especially our girls. I never want them to grow up because when they do, they won't need us anymore”, Tanyin said bringing all the women to tears.
Mōʻīwahine told her mates that no matter how old their daughters get they will always need their daddies. And allowing them to blossom into the women they are supposed to be will make them strong like her. We understood where Vulverin and Tanyin were coming from.
“I feel the same way about my daughter”, Mason said.
“Me too”, Octobersaid.
“And I am sure if this baby Renee is carrying is a girl, she is not going any without me”, Gar said.
“And I am sure Michael and James will want to lock our daughters up as well”, I said.
We all laughed. All the guys agree with Vulverin and Tanyin. While the ladies agree with Mōʻīwahine. After lunch, I know Vulverin, Tanyin, and Mōʻīwahine went to find their daughter. I went to the kitchen to check on the food's progress. Our cook was making a schedule so we wouldn't run out of food. I told her that more food is on its way and that before we leave the situation will be cleared up. She handed me Michaels cared with a bag full of receipts. I took them and then went to give them to Michael.
