DAMIEN MARTINEZ

Every single thought I've had for the past few days has been only about Rissa. It's like I can barely get on with my life without her presence.

"I miss her, Arghhhh, as much as I hate to think about it, I miss her so much….."

"Damien", Tristan called out for the third time since he entered the living room.

"When did you get here, and how did you even enter without having to knock", Damien asked, as though he was mad that his thoughts had been disrupted.

"Hello??, It's Tristan, your best friend of how long, I have enough access to you that one would even think I was betrothed to you from birth, I mean….that was before Senorita Clar took over."

"Ohh, please shut up, Tristan, I don’t even like her, and you know it, and Senorita Clar???….What gives you the right to nickname my wife?" Damien fired back at Tristan.

"Relax, dude, I was only kidding, I thought you don’t care about her….I was even thinking……."

"Tristian, Do you not have cases you need to work on, or are there no more crimes to solve?" Damien asked, cutting him off his sentence.

"My hot-tempered friend, who would have thought you’d ever lose your composure over a woman you claim not to care about."

"Well, We have come up with a safe rescue plan for Carissa."

"Then speak fast about it, let’s get to work right now."

One of the guys working for Karl is a well-known criminal, and we have been looking for a way to get him. Rumor has it that he is trying to get on with his life because of his daughter, but he can’t because he’s always on the run.

"And what does that have to do with the rescue mission", Damien asked impatiently.

"Well, we plan to contact him and give him an opportunity, kind of like a free pass out of going to jail."

"If he buys the idea, we can have him as our inside guy, giving us all the intel we need to get hold of Karl and disrupt his plans."

"Are you crazy??? You are going to let a criminal go???, Do you even know what you’re saying?"

"If you have a better plan, Damien, now would be a great time to share it, or you can kiss Clarissa goodbye forever."

"Okay, okay, I replied calmly, I just really wanted to make all of them pay for what they did, but at the same time, I’d do anything it takes to save Rissa."

"I understand you, my dear friend, but we won’t be letting him go freely. He will do community services and also be on probation for a year. If you ask me, I’ll say it’s a win-win for all of us."

"You’re right, Tristan, so when do we go???"

"We????….Tristan laughed. What do you mean by we? Or you mean “oui” as in yes in French?"

"Goddamit, Tristan, I meant we, and you know that."

"Well, “we” would not be going anywhere together. I’ll take it from here. You’re joking, right?"

"I’m not….We don’t want your emotions ruining this operation, Damien."

"What freaking emotions do you keep talking about, I told you I don’t feel a thing for her, I am only fulfilling my obligations to her as a husband, and we don’t want bad press also."

"Alright then, since you’re insisting, you can come along. But don’t think I’ll hand over a gun to you."

"Oh, don’t worry, I have access to the black markets, I’m sure I can find one to buy there."

"Mr. Damien Martinez, Tristan called out….Don’t you dare

"Relax, I was only teasing, I’m not going to try and fuck up your job and your good reputation. You can take the shots, superintendent," He saluted jokingly.

"Sometimes I wonder how we ended up as friends, I’ll get going now. Bye, Clarissa’s husband," He grinned.

"You don’t ever shut up, right?"

"Oh, no, I don’t, it’s one of the ways I managed to climb up the ladder and become superintendent, you know."

"Good for you, young man, you can leave now."

"Please….."

"Say pretty please….."

"Get out!!!", Damien yelled.

"Fine, you’ll come back looking for me, bye friend."

The door closes, and I’m left alone to my thoughts again, but I know I have to get busy if not my own mind might just drive me crazy. I should probably go to a bar and stay around people. There’s a new club downtown, and I’m sure the owner would love to have me at their club, as it’ll help with good PR.

I pick up my keys and walk to the parking lot, Directly beside my car is Clarissa’s. Arghh, why does everything have to remind me of her, has she bewitched me or something???

I drive out hurriedly and walk into the club. Good day, sir, One of the waitresses greeted. I ignored and walked to the drink stand. One bottle of finest scotch, please.

"Oh my heavens, It’s him, Mr. Damien Martinez at my own club." I’ll take it that you are the owner of this place, right?

"Yes, I am," the short middle-aged man responded.

"Do you mind if I take a picture?"

"Of course, Go ahead, what was I expecting?" I thought to myself.

"I can’t have you waiting at the stand, sir, I’ll get a special trained waitress to attend to you in the VVIP room."

I nodded my head and followed him. A petite and busty redhead waitress entered into the room.

"Fuck, she’s hot!!!", I thought to myself.

"Good day, Mr. Martinez, my boss said whatever you have is on the house, I’m Mia by the way."

"Hey Mia, Thanks for the hospitality."

I watched as she poured my drink, calculating every single move her body made. She was testing me, and Damn, I’m pretty sure I was failing.

"Alright, Mr. Martinez, call me if you need anything."

"Uhmm, are you on the house?? Sir???? Your boss said whatever I wanted is on the house, Does that include you?"

Damien, she called out seductively moving towards me, whatever you want, that’s the rule.

She leaned towards me, and I kissed her, her lips were soft, her revealing outfit showing her ripe boobs. All of a sudden, I started to see Rissa. I stopped for a second, and it was still the same thing. I thought to myself, it’s either this drink is too strong, or I’m going crazy. But it’s not the first time I will be in such a situation, so why am I thinking about her now? I even left the house to forget about her.

Trying to ignore my thoughts, I pull Mia towards me and make her sit on my laps, fondling her boobs and ass simultaneously. It only got worse, now I can scent Carissa.

"Get off me", I yelled.

"Sir??", she looks at me confused, picks up her things, and leaves angrily.

"What are you doing to me, Clarissa?", the thought to myself, I’m a businessman, this marriage is merely a contract, and I’ve always been one to know how business works, so why is it so difficult,I sighed….

I walk out of the room and paid the bill, I also requested for Mia to be tipped well enough.

"Damien, a female voice called out."

"Oh, hey Lily," I replied dryly. The last thing I wanted was another Devor on my mind making life harder for me than it already was.

"How are you doing since my sister has been absent? You face looks pale," she said, touching my face and assessing it.

"Oh, I'm fine, I just came here to think a little and about Rissa, don't worry at all, I'll do everything within my power to get her back, I promise “.

"I see, but you know you don't have to, I'm pretty sure Clarissa is not expecting you to be her knight in whatever armor."

"Regardless, she's my wife, and I'll only be doing my duty. I'm starting to sound like a broken record repeating this line," I thought to myself.

"I'm only saying Clarissa doesn't care about you, she has always been self-centered, a conniving and manipulative bitch with serious…….."

Her phone rings.

"Hello, Karl…..

Karl???? Why is she on the phone with Karl?? Is she in on this too? Why is she walking away from me?? I thought to myself."

"I'm sorry, I had to pick that call, it was urgent."

"It's no problem at all, what are you even doing here?"

"I came to see the owner of this bar, we happen to be long-time friends, and I thought to say hi."

"Alright then, I'll let you know if anything comes up regarding your sister."

"Yeah, I'm sure she'll be fine, bye Damien boo."

"Bye Lilly, Damien boo?, wtf was that, and why was she so jumpy to receive Karl's call."

I open my car to return home, even if I know it was about to be another round of torture. I found a brown boxed package which was surprising because my car was locked.

Curious about the content, I opened it and found a note that read: "Do not bother trying to find Clarissa, we will be flying out of the country in 48 hours, and I will bury her body in an unknown country."

Fear overpowered me and my hands began to tremble as I read through the message, I could no longer waste time, I reached for my phone immediately to call Tristan.
