Chapter 42
"You manipulated me..." I moaned when he pushed that inner spot he loved to touch. "You tricked me and chased me... And, God..."
David didn't say anything but held me in his lap without letting our connection fall apart, without separating himself from me. I was destroyed, my walls had come down again and all I wanted was for him to be normal, for him not to chase me like this.
"My darling..." He called out and I hesitated to look at him, to lose myself again in those eyes that had consumed me ever since we met. "Please look at me."
I did.
There were no shadows and no lies, it was a light gray like the sky after a long, heavy storm when it was about to show that clear blue. I didn't want to give in, it wasn't my intention to let myself fall into his arms again. However, my feelings were real even if they were not.
He looked relaxed and seemed committed to making me understand what he had come to say, he was ready to move on and take me wherever he wanted to go. His beard was untrimmed, his hair messy because my hands missed feeling the weight of the dark strands.
It was him, no matter what an incredible guy Benjamin had been so far. David had a longing for me, a need that I couldn't explain. Something that Ben didn't have, that not even Mike, who claimed to love me as he did in his last note, could give me.
David brought an incomparable adrenaline rush to my body and made my feelings go to unreachable levels, how could I compare? It was impossible.
"I would never manipulate you, what happened... what happened was what I told you, I knew about Mike and it wouldn't be fair to you if you let him continue. So I followed you and watched to make sure you didn't get hurt..." He said, making me sniffle and sigh at the same time, with a mixture of emotions and sensations. "I didn't come to hurt you, I came to claim what's mine, you're mine and I won't give you up, Sarah."
David squeezed my body, sinking his face into my hair as he helped me move my hips slightly. It was too intimate for what we felt, perhaps too intimate for what we had. I felt my eyes sting as he consumed my body and I gave my body to him, it was a mutual exchange.
Then he reached my depths again, making me moan softly to withstand the pressure.
"David..." I sighed, knowing that even after this was over, it wouldn't get us anywhere. "We can't go on with this..."
He took a deep breath and gently pulled my face up to kiss me slowly, my walls were now mere rubble and my mind was in tatters. David could manipulate me with ease and I was weak... in love... just a puppet in his fingers.
"We can't be apart for so long anymore." He sighed, getting up from the chair and holding me tightly in his lap. I clung to his body and he slowly made his way around the kitchen, then up the stairs towards the bedrooms.
"David, what are you doing?" My heart fluttered as he passed in front of my room and continued to the next door. "David?"
He opened the bedroom door and the covers were still crumpled from my having just gotten up.
The air rushed out of my lungs as David gently placed me on top of the messy sheets, where I had spent the night with Ben...
"I'm putting him out of your mind and about to make love to you, Sarah." He replied seriously before ripping his shirt off his body and climbing into that bed.
"No." I pulled away to reach for my phone, but he pulled me up and got on top of me. "David, stop it. Are you losing your mind?"
David did nothing but hug me, but that wasn't the problem, even though it brought back painful memories. It was being in Ben's room, that wasn't right.
He held my face affectionately and kissed me before looking at me carefully, arranging himself between my legs, and spreading my wetness slowly.
"I've wasted nothing but time without you." He said before slowly penetrating me. "But I'm going to make you forget him, make you remember that you're mine, that I'd do anything for you. That I don't know how to live my fucking life without knowing that you're safe and well, that you're with me."
I gasped, feeling the rhythmic movement in and out of me, searching for and massaging a spot that only he knew. David was drowning me with that damn pleasure, melting me with his words and consuming me with his gaze.
I was his, there was no denying it. Every part of me was addicted and dependent on him in an overwhelming way and there was no hiding it. My chest pounded at the thought of him and it wasn't easy to let go.
I was in love with him.
"No..." I moaned, giving up fighting, giving up not needing him, and held him against my body, begging him to blend with my skin.
"I'm yours, Sarah." David groaned bringing that wave to the edge. "I need you the same way you need me, can you feel that need? Can you feel how much your body wants to be in my arms and spilling out just for me?"
"Yes..." I whimpered, feeling the wave engulf me and spread out as he smiled and moaned my name softly before pulling out of me.
"My love..." David sighed, taking me in his arms to leave the room.
He then walked slowly and when he finally entered the guest room, he locked it from the inside, laid me down slowly on the bed, and snuggled up against my back.
That's when I couldn't hold back the avalanche that consumed me. David missed me so much that just the sensation of his presence made me delirious with longing, and that avalanche hit me hard.
My eyes stung and I couldn't hold back the sobs that broke through the silence and my throat.
"Sarah?" I couldn't answer and I wouldn't have been able to even if I'd wanted to, my throat was burning along with my eyes. "Honey, what's wrong?"
David turned my body in a hurry and hugged me before drying the tears that were slowly torturing me, I didn't know this guy who made me lose all my temper. I had no idea who he was. But I was there falling in love with a stranger who had decided to have me as his toy, as his prey.
"Who are you?" After all this time I had the impulse to ask, after all the pain and all that accumulated feeling I was finally able to ask.
He kissed away the tears that started rolling down his cheeks and rested his forehead on mine before finally answering.
"I'm just a broken man, Sarah. That you're helping to mend."
Incredibly, I woke up alone. The light outside the window already seemed dim and my body missed David, I looked for him upstairs and not even his t-shirt was on the floor of Ben's room.
The house was empty and for the first time since I arrived in this house, I felt like leaving. To escape from this brick prison that surrounded me and kept me, in a way, safe.
I tidied myself up and combed my hair, I'd go mad if I didn't leave.
I used the key that Ben had left with me and walked alone without fear, perhaps David's bizarre way of protecting me had given me some strength or just suffocated me even more to the point of making me leave the house. I couldn't tell which it was, just that I needed some fresh air.
My phone rang a few times as I walked along, not caring what time it was or where I was going, but I ignored the calls and only checked it when the messages were on the screen.
"Where are you, redhead?"
"I had to go out for a bit, I'll be back soon."
A reply message beeped and Ben was the same guy as always.
"Want some company? I can take you somewhere nice."
I smiled, Ben deserved someone as nice as him and I wasn't that person.
"I just need some time, I'll be back before the carriage turns into a pumpkin."
He laughed and then said he'd be waiting for me, so I put the device back in my pocket.
I ended up in front of the park that David had brought me to when he'd kidnapped me from Mike's arms, but I didn't go in, I didn't know if I wanted to relive the childish joy I'd had that day. There were some benches on the other side of the street, which was a green area. So I sat there and watched the open hours for all ages, where children and adults didn't care about anything but having fun.
