Chapter 139 Chapter 37 of the spin-off
Axel Cornell
I remain sitting on top of Bastião for a few minutes, letting my body weight press against his while hiding my face in the crook of his neck.
I leave soft, wet kisses there, feeling the vibration of his breath against my skin.
Ah, it feels so good to be like this with him... I feel a peace I never thought possible in our line of work. I breathe in deeply his scent of sweat and sex, which is now my favorite aroma.
I feel a gentle kiss on my hair and his hand sliding up my back.
"Is everything okay, sweetheart?" his voice comes out husky, vibrating against my chest.
I give a small smile, rubbing my nose against his neck before looking at him.
"Yes, I'm wonderfully okay... I just can't feel my legs."
He lets out a rich laugh, making me roll my eyes with a playful smile on my lips.
"Well, that's due to someone who really likes to ride."
I pull back a little, staring into those dark eyes that devour me.
"And who wouldn't like to ride a man like this? So handsome, strong..." I run my hand across his chest, feeling the firm muscles.
He shakes his head, smiling, and seals our lips in a long peck. I run my hand along his cheek, feeling the warmth of his skin.
"Well, now we need to rest. Let's take a shower and truly relax."
He huffs softly but agrees. I slide off him with all the care in the world, feeling his length slowly glide out of me.
The friction makes both of us gasp aloud. The moment I separate from him, I feel a great emptiness and notice his cum starting to trickle down my thighs. I extend my hand to him, helping him up.
"Come on, let's take a shower and rest."
He holds my hand firmly, and we head to the bedroom, going straight into the bathroom. We step into the shower stall, and I turn on the warm water, feeling it relax my tense muscles.
Bastião wraps his arms around me from behind, pressing his warm chest to my back, and slides his hand down to my hole. I sigh deeply as I feel his fingers enter delicately, scooping out the sperm filling me up.
As soon as he finishes cleaning, he leaves a tender kiss on the nape of my neck, making me shudder.
I grab the sponge, put a little soap on it, and begin washing his body. I make slow movements, caring for every scar, every muscle.
I really love this moment; I like taking care of Bastião, giving him this bath, and having him vulnerable under my hands. I wash everything with an overflowing affection, and soon he takes the sponge from my hand to do the same.
He cleans my body with extreme care, stopping several times to kiss my lips. I smile foolishly at this domestic moment of ours. We don't even look like two dangerous mobsters when we act like this, with so much sweetness.
He finishes cleaning, and we rinse off under the stream of water. Bastião pulls me into a tight hug, and we stay like that, feeling the water fall over us in a comfortable silence.
As he runs his hand through my hair, I close my eyes and lose myself in thought.
Before, I thought I could be happy just existing, doing what the mafia required and keeping my mask of ice. But now, beside him, I realize I was in total darkness.
I was just a ghost wandering around, believing I would never be loved by the man who owns my soul. Did it take time? It took fucking forever.
We went through years of silence and repressed desires, but everything was resolved. Now we are finally together, and I feel like I've only truly begun to live right now. I don't plan on ever letting go of this man; he is my safe haven in the middle of chaos.
"We need to get out of the shower, love," I say, pulling away reluctantly. "Otherwise we'll end up getting sick."
He agrees, and I turn off the water. I grab the towel, dry his body carefully so as not to hurt his shoulder, and then dry myself off. He steps out of the bathroom, and I grab the first-aid kit supplies.
I follow him to where he is already sitting on the bed and perform the same procedure as always: change the dressing, wrap it firmly, and put everything back in place.
I return to the bedroom and see him lying down, taking up the space that is now ours. I give a smile full of peace and walk over to him, lying by his side and feeling the heat of his body inviting me to the rest we so desperately need.
He pulls me onto his body, settling me over his chest with an ease that makes me chuckle softly.
"Bastião, don't strain yourself so much like you did today. You need to recover completely," I protest, though I make no move to stir.
He huffs, placing a long kiss on my hair.
"I'm better now, sweetheart. If I can't put my man to sleep on top of me in total comfort, I'm not the perfect man."
I roll my eyes, but the smile on my face betrays me.
"Don't be so dramatic."
He laughs and squeezes me closer against himself, his arms wrapping around me like a shield.
"I'm serious. I want to be able to have you sleeping on top of me always. Smelling your scent feels way too good, your heat... Ah, your scent is so good, I love you so much."
He squeezes me with an eagerness that makes me laugh again, his chest vibrating against mine.
"My God, now I've turned into a baby."
He leaves several quick kisses on top of my head, making me close my eyes in pure delight.
"No, you're not a baby. I just like taking care of you. It's my responsibility as a husband, sweetheart."
I lay my head on his neck, feeling the steady pulse of his life under my cheek.
"I love you, Bastião."
"I love you too. And it feels fucking good to be able to say that out loud, Axel. I know I was the person who pushed you away... If I had just stayed as your friend, sooner or later we would have discovered each other's feelings. I regret acting like an idiot for so long. But finally, I got a second chance, and we'll be together forever."
I bite his neck lightly, feeling a chill run through him.
"Yes... But everything has a purpose. Even if we could have gotten together sooner, it doesn't mean it's too late now. Here we are, and we're going to enjoy all the time we lost."
He runs his hand through my hair, stroking it with a delicacy that contrasts with his calloused hands.
"Yes. We will enjoy it very much. We can always sneak away to Japan."
I let out a soft laugh, remembering the Oriental hospitality.
"Yes, Mr. Tanaka invited us to escape there. We can always enjoy our time far away from everything."
He squeezes me once more, and I feel his muscles gradually relax as sleep begins to claim its space. I close my eyes, feeling an enormous happiness overflow inside me—a sensation I never knew how to name until this exact moment.
It is absolute peace, something I never imagined finding while living among shadows and blood. Looking back, I realize I spent my entire life on high alert, but here, in Bastião's arms, I can finally lower my guard.
The darkness that once seemed eternal has now been dispelled by this love that burns steady and calm.
There is no longer the fear of loneliness or the anguish of unrequited desire.
There is only the here and the now: the sound of his breathing, the heat of our skin, and the unshakeable certainty that I am loved.
"Forever" ceases to be an abstract word or a distant concept; now, it is our destiny, sealed in every shared beat of our hearts.
I feel weightless, as if the invisible chains I carried for so long have finally broken. For the first time in thirty-eight years, I am not just occupying space in the world or surviving another day of war.
For the first time, I feel truly at home.
It is not a home made of walls and a roof, but rather made of strong arms, a scent that calms me, and a loyalty that defies death itself.
Wrapped in Bastião's warmth, the loneliness that was once my only companion dissolves, giving way to a fullness that makes my eyes sting with gratitude.
I can finally release the breath I didn't even know I was holding.
I am complete.
I am safe.
I am exactly where my soul always screamed to be.
I fall asleep with a smile on my lips and my soul at peace, knowing that from now on, no dawn will be lonely, for the love of my life is my awakening.
