Chapter 35

Alex's POV

The beginning of something is always the hardest thing to witness. The reason for that is because no one really knows or realizes when that beginning has begun.

"she can't marry him!" Kendra shouts as she runs into the room. "you can't marry someone who is as weak as he is!"

Blaise and I turn around to look at the woman who is now standing in the middle of everyone.

"why are you here?" I ask trying to control my anger.

"Kara, you need a better ..."

"I don't need anything mom" I say looking at her as I sigh. "I have everything I ever wanted. I don’t need more."

she looks at me with teary eyes as I look at the floor.

everyone in the room stays silent as they process the new information that they just learned.

'the old queen had a daughter'

"I don’t understand, he’s an omega yet you..." she says as Matthew walks over to her to pick her up. she looks at him with the most loving eyes and in a way I’m jealous.

"do you still not understand?" I ask her as she turns to look at me confused. "he lost everything. he lost his position as the king and yet you still love him." I look at Blaise and I hold his hand. "that is exactly how I feel about this man." I turn to look at everyone and then I look at my mother straight in the eyes. "he is my other half, and I’m not complete if I’m not with him."

everyone has something that they treasure to the point that they are willing to give up anything just to be able to keep that special something.

In my place its Blaise, and my child.

That day we finished our vows and went on a trip for a whole week to the middle of a forest.

after that many things changed. I won't say everything ended up perfect because there is no such thing.

Patrick formed a family with his mate and became the general of our kingdom's troops.

Kendra and her family were accepted as the new beta family in a pack along the coast of Florida and my father and my step mother began to wait for the arrival of a new family member.

I on the other hand stayed in the same position as queen along with Blaise my other half and our precious son was born.

His features are absolutely amazing. He looks a lot like his father. He has all of his fathers features up to the color of his hair. His eyes are the only thing that are different. He has these violet eyes. Sort of a mixture of purple and blue and they are beautiful.

I walk towards the throne room and I pause as I look towards the side of the door.

"Who are you?" I ask as I look at the teenage girl with blonde hair and dirty face who is holding a knife towards me.

"Give me the child or ill kill you" she says with her hands shaking.

I turn to look at her eyes and they are beyond terrified. "Why are you doing this when you don’t want to?"

"Please just give the damn kid up!" she yells anxiously.

I move towards her as I look at the scar in her face and I reach towards it. I touch it lightly as I hear the door open from behind me.

"Why do you need him?" I ask as she begins to cry.

"Its a life for a life..." she whispers as she tries to stab me but Patrick manages to grab her and knock her out.

She lands on the ground as I lean against the wall annoyed by the fact that this occurrence has become a bit more normal now for me and Blaise, although I’m more calm about it.

"You need to be careful. If that girl was powerful she could have killed you" Patrick says as he looks at me.

"It's been five years already and people just can't seem to get over the fact that I had a son." I walk towards one of the windows in the room and I sigh.

Patrick walks over to where I am as some guards carry the girl to the castles jail and he looks at the view and crosses his arms. "You can't blame them. The future king was born with a mark and that's unheard of. It's bound to catch people's interest."

"He’s not a rare pet." I say digging my nails on then paint on the wall.

"Mom!" I hear small footsteps running from behind me and when I turn I see Caleb smiling as he extends his arms towards me.

He trips but I manage to grab him in time and carry him in my arms.

"So what has Caleb been doing today?" I ask looking at some of the scratches in his face and arms.

"I climbed a tree because I threw Sandra’s book up there end I ended up falling down and getting in trouble for it." he says as he looks at me with tears in his eyes.

"Did you at least get the book back?"

"Yeah" he says smiling. " I don’t know why it was so important to her though it was just a book."

I put Caleb down as I lead him towards the thrones and I sit him down in the kings chair. " because knowledge is power. " I kneel as I put my hands on his legs and I look at his right leg with the mark that he was born with. It has a beautiful violet color and it is absolutely magical. "Someday you will understand how important a book can be."

Everyone has something they want in life. Something they want to protect or something they want to understand. It happens.

Although we aren’t human and although we aren't supposed to understand feelings for some reason we do. And for some reason we are able to understand certain things as we grow older for example, as I kneel in front of my child in my mind I understand that the reason for his mark is a special one. Its the beginning of something incredible.
