Chapter 18

Kendras POV

The moment I wake up I feel nauseous. my body feels heavy and I can hardly move. I look a the ceiling and its white.

I look to my right and I see Mathew on the bed next to mine sleeping soundly. I get up as quickly as I can and I wake him up. he opens his dark brown eyes as he smiles at me while he holds my hand to kiss it.

I suddenly feel eyes on me and I look at the front of our beds. in between them sits Alex in a chair. I gasp and Mathew stands up fast and stands in front of me in a protective stance.

I look at Alex one more time and I notice something is off about her. shes usually smiling in her pictures and she's always making jokes or making fun of people bringing out life.

the only difference now is that she looks tired. she looks as if she has had no sleep in weeks. her usual red lips have lost their color and are now pink. her eyes don't show the usual fire in her eyes they just look hazy.

"calm down" she rubs the back of her neck. "I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to talk" she says with a serious expression.

I feel Mathew calm down as he looks at her confused. "I and you have nothing to talk about."

she starts to laugh without reason and she begins to rub her forehead with her hand. "why didn't you just stay in your castle and leave me alone?"

I look at her as she tries to not cry. "I'm sorry for bothering you we will be leaving as soon as we can. it was a mistake to even consider you my daughter" I say holding my head up high.

she looks at me as if I were being ridiculous and looks at the floor as she sighs. "where will you be going?"

"to our home the castle" Mathew says firmly "I'm surprised you don't know where the king and queen lives."

"why did you order people to kill those born from humans?" she asks looking at Mathew as he stands firmly.

"that has nothing to do with you." he says with anger in his voice. afraid of them fighting again I put my hand on his arm and he calms down.

Alex just smirks. "you guys can pick which ever pack you want to go to and I'm sure they will gladly accept you as part of their pack."

confused I look at her and then I notice a black and red mark on her right arm. I gasp taking my hand away from Mathew as I look at my left arm. "it's gone"

Mathew looks at me confused. "what's gone?"

"the mark" I say showing him my arm. he quickly looks at his right arm and there is nothing there.

Alex sighs and we both look at her. Her eye softly roam her mark in her right arm "this little bitch burned like hell."

Mathews eyes roam her arm and he growls. "why do you have that?!"

"I don't know." she stands up from her chair as she walks towards a window in the room. "I was hoping you could tell me"

Mathew growls as he looks at her with a killing intention. "your blood isn't royal! so why do you have it!"

"I don't know!" she snaps at him which takes him by surprise. "suddenly I was out of the shower talking to Blaise and this thing shows up! oh and don't forget the pain that it came with!" she says breathing heavily now. "what do I do?" she asks troubled "I don't know how to rule a fucking kingdom!"

Mathew swallows "I don't know what I have to do in order to keep this place in tact." she looks at my husband with pleading eyes. "you were the previous king. so help me. guide me through this thing."

"I'm sorry but, your on your own." he says as he grabs my waist and pulls me towards the door.

"alright" I hear Alex say to herself "since you won't guide me ill do these things on my own. ill start by getting rid of that dumb law of yours. the one with the half humans."

my husband freezes "you won't do such a thing!" he growls furiously.

"I gave you a chance to explain yourself and you gave me no reason." she says looking at us "your opinion no longer matters to me"

at that moment Mathew runs towards Alex at full speed but someone else runs behind him and pulls him backwards making him fall. 

the man has black hair and dark blue eyes. He’s wearing a dark green shirt with some dark jeans. 'it's him'

the man punches Mathew in the face and is about to do it again but Alex runs to him "Blaise stop!"

he looks up at her with his dark blue eyes and the moment she touches him his dark blue eyes change to light blue. "I'm fine" he slowly stands up and moves away from Mathew as I run towards him.

I look at the man named Blaise for a second and I'm shocked to see that he took my mark. rage fills me up and I glare at him "so he’s a runt and a thief!" I laugh bitterly "that makes sense."

his eyes change to dark blue but he doesn't move. Alex holds his hand as she looks at him sadly.

Mathew quickly gets up and he pulls me out of the room. "let's go Kendra. we're leaving."

Blaises POV

"you were behind the door weren't you?" Alex asks me pouting. "I told you I could handle it myself."

I smile as I pull her closer to me "I know." I begin to kiss her neck and she stiffens.

"Blaise what's wrong?" she asks me in a husky voice and I can't help but groan in satisfaction.

for some odd reason my feelings of longing for her have become much stronger. her beauty seems very irresistible and her smell is even more intoxicating than before. 

"Blaise stop"

"huh," I say without thinking as I pull her closer.

"Blaise stop"

"mmmm sure" I bite her playfully.

"Blaise I'm serious!"

"yeah sure," I answer in a trance without stopping.

suddenly I've pulled away and Alex looks at me in frustration as her cheeks glow pink.

I smile and she looks away trying to hide her embarrassment.

Alex's POV

"what the hell is wrong with him?" I ask my dad as he looks at Blaise who is being held down by two pack members from James pack.

"I don't know" he observes Blaise who is only giggling as he looks at me like a small child. 'not that I mind how he's acting but its still weird.'

"well he is an omega, meaning he doesn't have much control in his wolf. it could mean that when he met you the mate pull was too strong but he still worked hard to make sure he kept himself focused. maybe the mark was too much for him to control."

"what does that mean?" I ask confused "well the mark makes the mate bond stronger in order for the king and queen to rule fairly. since the bond got stronger maybe you didn't notice the big change since you have alpha blood but a normal werewolf would definitely be effected."

"is there a way to stop him from acting like this?" I ask frustrated as I see Blaise trying to pull himself towards me.

"the mark will give him his true power" I look at my dad in pure shock.

"what?"

he looks at me troubled. "well you see... when a male wolf marks his mate he gets his real strength. you know how they say you can never be whole without your soul mate? well... that's literally what happens." he looks at Blaise who is still trying to break free. "hey!" my dad screams as if he's realized something.

"what?!" I ask curious.

"At least he’s cute" my dad jokes.

"are you serious?"

"well keep him in his room for now while you get mentally prepared. just don't wait too long because the mark will only bother him more and he'll grow impatient," he says as he makes the two men pull Blaise away.

"wait! No! Alex!" Blaise screams as I mentally slap my self for thinking that his pout was cute.
