Chapter 85 His Emotions.

Chapter 85.

Xavier’s POV.

When I was in the process of buying that house for Bunny, I had fully intended to buy her a luxury car to go with it. But the exact high-end model that I wanted to get her didn’t come in her favorite color. So, without hesitation, I had immediately instructed the dealership to take the car back into the workshop and have it completely customized in a soft, flawless shade of pink.

We had never actually sat down to have a formal conversation about her favorite things or her specific preferences before, but I could easily tell that she absolutely loved the color pink. It was so incredibly obvious in her daily life… from the little accessories she carried to the small details she kept close to her.

But right now, after everything that had just happened back at the house, I didn’t even know how to feel. My mind was completely numb. After walking down those grand stairs only to be brutally kicked out of the very house I bought to protect her, my chest felt entirely empty. I didn’t know who had fucking given her that video, and most importantly, I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that she was completely unwilling to even listen to my side of the story.

When she screamed at me to leave the house, I had walked straight over to the high-end garage where the customized vehicle was being held. I had thought that maybe if I presented the car to her right now, she would feel a spark of happiness. I hoped it would make her soften up just enough to give me a single chance to express myself and explain that the bet meant nothing to me anymore. But walking into the quiet garage and looking at the car didn’t give me a single drop of warmth. It felt useless.

My heart was completely broken. The painful image of her tear-stained face and the raw hatred burning in her eyes kept playing on a loop inside my head, shredding my sanity. Realizing I couldn’t handle being confined in a room, I bypassed the cars, grabbed the keys to my heavy sport bike, and dragged it out into the open air. I kicked the engine into a roar and sped off, driving my bike recklessly across the entire expanse of New York City. The bitter wind slapped against my face as I wove through the heavy traffic, desperately trying to outrun the suffocating guilt eating me alive.

When I finally reached a completely quiet, lonely spot overlooking the city skyline, I slammed on the brakes and parked the bike by the curb. My chest was heaving. Pulling off my helmet, I reached into my pocket, grabbed my phone, and immediately placed a call to Nathan.

The very moment Nathan picked up the line, I didn’t even give him room to breathe. “Where the hell is he?” I demanded, my voice dark and gritting with pure venom.

Nathan sighed on the other end, his voice tense. “Xavier, we already checked. Daniel is not at his father’s estate. He hasn’t been there all day.”

Angrily, I gripped the handlebars of my bike until my knuckles turned white, a dangerous fire exploding in my veins. “I don’t give a fuck, Nathan! Dig deeper! Run more research on Daniel’s personal apartments, his friends’ places, or any off-campus property he owns. Find out exactly where he is hiding his pathetic head, and the moment you locate him, make sure you kidnap him. Drag him to the warehouse and lock him down.”

I knew without a single shadow of a doubt that Daniel was the one who had handed Bunny that news. I could tell from the state she was in that Daniel had deeply hurt my princess, using my past mistakes as a weapon to tear her away from me. I wasn’t going to spare that son of a bitch. I was going to ruin him completely for making her cry.

Once the call ended, I let out a long, ragged exhale, trying to steady the frantic beating of my heart. I put my phone away and got back onto the bike, twisting the throttle. I decided it was time to go back and meet my princess. I figured she would be somewhat calm by now, and the raw anger would have faded enough for me to sit her down and force her to understand how much I truly loved her.

But the exact moment I hopped on the bike and went to kick the stand, a sharp, continuous beeping sound suddenly echoed from my front pocket.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

My brows pulled together in a tight, confused knot. A heavy sense of foreboding settled into my stomach. I begrudgingly pulled the device back out of my pocket, my eyes locking onto the flashing red screen.

“Alert. Alert. Warning… danger zone.”

My breath hitched sharply. In no time, a wave of pure, unadulterated urgency took over my actions. I quickly unlocked my phone, my fingers moving frantically across the screen. The moment the security app forced itself open, my heart stopped beating completely.

Thanks to the delicate silver necklace I had carefully placed around Bunny’s neck this morning… the one embedded with a highly advanced, encrypted GPS tracker I had custom-made for her safety… the screen was displaying her live status. But she wasn’t at the restaurant, and she wasn’t on her way back to the house.

The red tracking dot was moving rapidly through a dark, isolated district, and according to the live visual feed and perimeter scan, Bunny was currently being forcefully dragged into what looked like a massive, abandoned warehouse.

The blood in my veins turned to pure ice, and a lethal, terrifying rage took over my entire body. They had touched what belonged to me. Who gave them the right? They would fucking pay! I will make them pay. Each and everyone!
