Chapter 61 Sixty One

Chapter 61 Sixty One
 DANIKA
I watch as blood drains from his face, his eyes widening with shock. I swallow hard, worry gnawing at my senses. A cold feeling of dread floods my insides, my hands already trembling.
"W-why? Is it bad?" I ask, bracing myself for a terrifying response.
"You have the sanctum energy. It's enough power to level an entire city. Having the power of the vessel as well is like placing a chemical bomb in a container filled with sulphuric acid and not expecting an explosion," he replies, and my soul practically leaves my body. It feels like I've just been given a death sentence.
Tears well up in my eyes, my heart racing. But then Kaziel reaches for me and pulls me close. His warm dark chocolate scent washes over me, and I close my eyes, resting my head on his chest.
"It doesn't matter. Nothing is going to take you away from me, I promise," he says with a tone of utter finality, and I nod, in desperate need of an assurance to hold on to.
"I won't let you suffer. Ever. Not under my watch," he goes on to say, stroking my hair.
"Dani, look at me," he says, and I look up at him. He cups my face in his hands, brushing hair away from my face.
"Don't be scared, okay? I want you to do everything you want to do without hesitating or worrying about being the vessel," he tells me.
"Okay," I whisper, resting my head on his chest once more.
"How are you feeling now? The hollow's effects seem to have eased up," I say, and he hums, holding me close.
"I really thought it would take me days to recover this time. Guess not," he comments, and I grin. I stretch my legs a little, and his breath catches in his throat.
And that's when I feel it. Something thick and hard poking at my thigh. Biting my lower lip, I move over to latch myself on his body like a koala bear.
Kaziel sucks in a sharp breath, and I giggle.
"Don't blame me. It's really hard to control myself around you," he says, and I lean in to kiss him, taking hold of his hand and sliding it down my thigh.
"It's okay," I whisper in between kisses, placing his hand in between my legs where I'm already growing wet. "I can't seem to control myself either."
He smirks against my lips, running his thumb over my clit. A shiver runs through me, his kisses deepening.
"Such a naughty girl," he drawls, and I bite his lower lip, my gaze meeting his.
"Doc says intimacy can help with your recovery," I say, blinking at him innocently. "I'm only following Doc's orders."
His eyes sparkle with amusement as I ease my arms up his shoulders.
"You're so fucking sexy, Dani," he says as I lean in to kiss him, rolling my hips against his cock. He groans thickly, his large hands settling on my waist.
"You like that?" I breathe, trailing kisses along his neck, my teeth grazing his earlobe.
"Do it again, sweet thing," he rasps, and I repeat the movement slowly, my tongue flicking over his nipple. He moans, tossing his head backwards.
"Fuck," he growls, tightening his grip on my waist.
"Would you like me to sit on it?" I say in a sultry voice, and a dark smirk tugs at his lips, his piercing gaze meeting mine.
His lips part, his breathing uneven. "Are you sure?"
  "I wouldn’t be offering if I wasn't," I reply, flashing him a sweet smile.
He reaches over to the nightstand and takes out a condom from the drawer, handing it over to me. I hold his eye contact as I rip it open, easing down his body to wrap my arms around his hot flesh. Veins line his pretty dick, pre-cum beaded at the tip. His breathing grows heavier as he watches me slide the condom on, his pupils dilating.
He pulls me back to my previous position. Then he leans in to kiss my neck before whispering in my ear in that sinfully deep voice of his.
"Go on. Sit on that cock and ride me like your life depends on it."
Those dirty words send a hot pulse of desire burning through my core.
So I reach between my thighs, taking hold of his cock. Slowly, I lower myself, gasping from the intense stretch and fullness that comes with the position.
He purrs, the rich sound sending electric shocks through my body. And so I begin to move, crying out from the pleasure racing up my spine.
"That's it, sweetheart," Kaziel groans, sliding his arms up my spine and squeezing my ass.
I'm gasping and moaning as I quicken my pace, his cock pounding into my sweet spots.
And then, my climax hits. He takes over, pistoning his hips at a maddening pace.
"Oh...K-Kaz!" I scream, my body vibrating against his. He leans in to suck my nipple, his movements not faltering for one bit.
I'm addicted to him. It's a solid truth.
Pleasure detonates in my belly, and I convulse against him, choking on a cry as he rams into me so hard that my eyes roll back. He shudders, his entire body tightening beneath me. And I cling to his shoulders, barely able to breathe.
He climaxes with a guttural growl, his abs flexing with every shaky breath he lets out. My forehead drops against his, my pulse roaring in my ears. A giddy grin tugs at my lips, and he reciprocates, pulling me in for a sizzling kiss.
  ...
"Ugh, too many assignments," Cora groans as we both head out of the lecture hall a few days later. Dusk is already creeping in. We had to stay back to assist a professor in his lab.
I hug my books to my chest. "Don't look at me like I'm the cause."
"You are the cause." She shoots me a dramatic glare. "You offended your man. Now he's punishing me too."
  I blink. "...I offended him?"
"Yes!" she throws her hands up. "He gave us THREE extra research tasks. Three! Do you know what that is? That's revenge. That's 'my girlfriend distracted me during lecture again' energy."
I snort. "As if I control his brain."
"You literally climbed him like a tree the other night, don't even start."
Heat rushes to my cheeks. "Cora!"
  How does she even know?
She grins, linking her arm through mine. "Your blush says everything."
We step onto the main walkway, the campus buzzing with students heading home or lingering in clusters. My stomach growls. I'm starving. And if I'm being honest, I really just want to go back to Kaziel's place, curl into him, and forget about everything else.
"So..." Cora says, dragging the word out. It definitely looks like she's preparing for a bomb drop. "Guess who asked me out."
  My eyebrows lift. "Who?"
  She giggles, practically vibrating. "Bellamy."
My jaw drops. "Bellamy? As in Kaziel's Bellamy?"
  "Yes."
  "When? How? WHAT?"
Cora stops walking, turns to me, and covers her face with her hands. "And we... might have kissed."
  "CORAAAA."
"I know, okay?! I know," she squeals into her palms. "I didn't even plan it. He just...he just grabbed my waist after a weird argument we shouldn't have had and said, 'I want to try something,' and then he kissed me, and I think my nonexistent heart went into crisis."
I clutch her shoulders and shake her lightly. "You kissed Kaziel's cousin."
  "He kissed me!"
  "You kissed him back!"
Cora groans dramatically. "Dani, what if he's just messing with me? Or worse...what if he likes me too much? He's so intense. He looks at me like he wants to... I don't know... pin me against a tree."
I scrunch my nose at her, amused. "That's definitely genetic."
She bursts out laughing, smacking my arm. "You're terrible."
  "You love me."
She wiggles her eyebrows. "Should I tell him yes? Like... to an official date?"
  "Do you want to?"
Her cheeks turn pink in that adorable way that makes me want to pinch them. She's a vampire, isn't she supposed to be unable to blush? "Yeah. Kind of. A lot."
I smile, pulling her close. "Then say yes."
We resume walking, and that's when Cora adds, "By the way... did you ever tell your man about that sly snake?"
  I freeze instantly.
Oh. Oh no. I absolutely forgot.
  "I... meant to," I mumble.
  Cora squints at me. "Dani."
"I know, I know... I just...things happened! I was stressed, then there was the trial issue, then the whole explosive-vessel nightmare, and then Kaziel recovering and being ridiculously hot—"
Cora sighs. "You have to tell him. Keeping things from men like him isn't very smart."
My pulse quickens. "I'll tell him tonight."
But before she can respond, her eyes dart past my shoulder. Her expression changes right away, his eyes both wary and alert.
"What now?" I mutter, following her gaze, only to see Tyler hurrying over to us, his face pale.
His backpack slips off one shoulder, his hair a dishevelled mess as if he sprinted from the other side of campus. My stomach drops.
He reaches us eventually, looking breathless. "Cakes, thank goodness. I've been looking everywhere for you."
Cora subtly shifts closer to me. I say nothing. I just stare at him, coldly.
Tyler swallows hard, his eyes darting around as though he expects something to leap out of the shadows. "We need to get out of here. Both of you. I'll drive you home. Just...please. Please listen to me."
  "No," I say instantly.
He flinches. "Dani, please. You're... you're not safe. Just come with me, okay? Let me explain on the way."
My heart thuds in my chest, but I hold my ground.
Tyler's green eyes bore into mine.
"Danika," he says, his voice trembling, "I'm serious. If you stay here...you might die."
