Chapter 20 Twenty

Chapter 20 Twenty
DANIKA

I should turn away and run. Pretend I was never here. But I can't. I'm frozen in place, my heart threatening to explode in my chest.

"Filthy way? Let me guess, Tyler blabbed," Kaziel says to my dad, and suddenly, I hear a scuffle. My eyes go wider. Did Dad just attack him? While I worry about that, Kaziel's deep laughter floats through the door, caressing my ears.

"Don't be ridiculous, Matthew. Danika is more precious to me than anything else. Maybe a part of me wants to see what she'll look like when she's wild and unrestrained. But I do care for her," Kaziel tells my dad, and I grimace. He didn't even bother lying.

"You bastard. Stay away from my daughter. You should be ashamed of yourself!"

"Ashamed? Never."

"I'll take this up with the school's board or with the council. I'll make sure you can't breathe the same air she does, you hear me?!" Dad roars, and Kaziel sighs.

"Fine, do whatever you like. You have been warned."

Just then, the door jerks open before I can flee. And there stands my dad. His eyes are darkened with rage, a vein visibly throbbing in the middle of his forehead.

"Danika?" His eyes soften slightly. "What are you doing here?"

Oh no...

Say anything. Talk!

Panic-stricken, I blurt out the first thing that comes to mind.

"Tyler said you might be here. I wanted to confirm it. I... I missed you.”

He blinks, his anger deflating like a balloon.

I can't believe I just lied to my dad's face. But if it keeps him from turning Kaziel to dust, I'll do it again.

"Come here, baby girl," he says, holding his arms apart. Plastering a wide smile on my face, I move over to hug him.

"I missed you too," he whispers, patting my back.

It's a little weird because we're not even that close.

When he finally pulls away, he gestures at me to follow him. I glance at Kaziel, who's standing behind him, his arms crossed. His blue eyes sparkle with wicked intention. He winks at me, and my face heats up.

I follow my dad down the hallway, trying to ignore the fact that I can feel Kaziel's gaze burning into the back of my head. Can he tell that I'm wearing the dress specially for him?

"Have you been adjusting well to your new environment?" Dad asks.

"Yes. I've made friends too."

His eyes widen. "I'm so proud of you, Dani."

Now, I feel like a little girl again. I don't like that. I'm a grownup, for goodness sake.

"Has anyone been giving you a tough time?" He asks.

My mind flashes to Eve. But I'm definitely not going to tell him that.

"You don't have to worry about me, Dad," I say, and he sighs.

"I don't want to sound overbearing or anything. But if Kaziel tries to touch you inappropriately, you have to stop him. If he refuses, call me, do you understand?" He says, and I blink at him.

He has no idea, does he?

If he knew that his precious daughter harbors such filthy thoughts towards her stepmother's stepson, he would definitely lose his mind.

"Yes, Dad," I smile, and he nods, relief crossing his features.

"I should get going now. Ember asked after you. She misses you a lot," he tells me, and I grin.

"Tell her I miss her too."

He nods, ruffling my hair enough to make me go red in the face. Can he not do that? I'm not a kid.

I watch him as he walks away, my nerves slowly calming.

"Such a good girl," a deep voice purrs in my ear, and blood rushes to my cheeks.

Slowly, I turn around to see my mate, Kaziel. He looks stunning as always, and I'm itching to grin at him. But I won't give him that satisfaction yet.

"How could you say that to my dad?!" I whisper, folding my arms across my chest.

His gaze roams over my dress, a smile on his face.

"I love that dress on you, dove. Did you wear it on purpose?" He states, and my pulse flutters wildly.

"Sh! Are you crazy? Someone might hear!" I press a hand to his mouth, my gaze darting around.

Slowly he eases my hand off his face.

"Let's go back to my office, pretty lady." His voice drops by an octave, and heat pools in my belly. Still, I huff out a breath and walk ahead of him, my arms folded.

Along the way, I notice that I'm being watched. Uneasy, I quicken my pulse.

Kaziel must've noticed. He turns to look behind us, moving himself behind me.

When he shuts the door behind us, I strut towards the window, keeping my head turned away from him. In reality, my heart is pounding so hard, it literally hurts.

"Is my dove mad at me?" Kaziel finally asks, and I lower myself on a couch in his office.

"Yes," I lie, and he beams, his sexy dimples popping out.

"How shall I appease you, your highness?" He teases.

"Kiss my feet," I blurt out the words before I can stop them. And suddenly the air goes ten degrees hotter. I gulp.

Kaziel cocks his head, his intense gaze locked with mine.

"Is that really what you want?"

He's moving towards me with smooth feline grace, and my body can't handle the dangerous aura swirling around him.

Even so, a part of me is curious to know what it would feel like to have a man like Kaziel kneel before me.

"Y-yes. That's what I want."

Slowly, he moves over to stand in front of me. Then, ever so slowly, he goes down on his knees. My breath catches in my throat.

He's on his knees. But why does it feel like I'm in trouble?

Maybe this is too much.

"K-Kaziel..." I stutter as he reaches for one of my feet, taking off my Doc Martens shoe.

"Shhhh," he whispers. "This is what you wanted, sweet thing. Now, sit still."

Holy...moly.

He gazes at me through his long lashes pressing a gentle kiss on my feet. My throat instantly goes as dry as the Sahara Desert.

His kisses trail upwards, his soft lips sending sparks shooting through my whole body. A moan slips from my lips, and I slap a hand over my mouth, stiffening.

Kaziel's lips curl against my shin.

"Don't muffle it, dove. Let me hear it," he states, and I hesitate.

He kisses the path up to my knee, and at this point, my breathing is heavy.

"Your hand, Danika," he drawls.

Trembling, I lower it, and his gaze meets mine again.

"Tell me, sweet thing. What other fantasies do you have? To you, I'm your genie. And your chances are infinite," he whispers.

If only he knew...

"I'm not as innocent as you think I am," I rasp, and he arches a perfect brow.

"Let me guess, you have a list," he asks, and a lump forms in my throat. I look away from him, barely able to breathe as he kisses up my thigh.

"So, it's true, hmm? I want to see it," he says.

"N-no."

He halts.

"No? I might've stirred up a misunderstanding. I wasn't asking for a yes or a no. You will bring it with you for our date."

My eyes go wide. Inside, I'm losing my mind, excited.

Driven by these emotions, I meet his electric gaze, determined to push him to the edge.

"Are you sure you can satisfy me?" I tease. His eyes darken, his lips curling into a devious smirk.

"A trial will convince you."

Oh my...

This is an opportunity, isn't it?

Swallowing past the lump in my throat, I reach over to place a trembling hand over his.

"I want you to...make me cum..." I croaked. "…with your mouth."

His eyes practically sparkled.

"Your wish is my command, your highness."
