“We have returned to the gallery,”
Andrea was startled.
“So fast? Did the doctor agree?”
Caspar’s voice was still soft.
“I thought it was no big deal, so I left.”
He fell silent again, then suddenly asked,
“Were you busy?!
Andrea was confused,
“What?”
The other party seemed to be pondering, hesitated for a while before replying.
“You said you would put the focus back on the gallery.”
Andrea came to his senses, he was stumped by his question.
After a while, she sighed.
“Sorry, I didn’t fulfill my responsibilities as a leader and caused you guys harm.”
“I…I didn’t mean that!”
Caspar suddenly panicked, and there was the sound of paper rustling

on the phone, like he was fidgeting with something nearby.
“I…I am…”
“What is it?”
The boy’s voice suddenly went weak.
“No big deal, the gallery has something going on, I gotta go.”
Before Andrea could say anything, the phone was already hung up.
Andrea stared at the darkened phone screen, slowly being overwhelmed by feelings of self–blame.
She was the gallery manager, but she was so irresponsible.

Caspar looked at the darkening phone screen, his eyes gradually losing their anxiety.
He remembered the phone call from yesterday.
The man, with a hint of drunkenness, kept murmuring “Andie“, mixed with the rustle of fabric rubbing and quick breaths.
“Shall we go back to Woodholt? No Quinn, no all that…”
He knew who that man was.
She called that person brother.
Caspar squinted slightly, he had seen that man before, and he was a formidable opponent.
However…he slowly raised the corners of his lips.

She didn’t love Quinn.
He remembered Quinn’s mocking smile, remembered the
condescending look in the other’s eyes, and felt a mix of emotions churning in his chest.
There was jealousy, there was resentment, but more of it was hidden excitement.
He acted all tough, but he was actually nothing.
Caspar suddenly burst out laughing.
The one who doesn’t love is the loser.
He took a deep breath, his fingertips rubbing the phone screen.
“Andrea…”
He whispered softly.
From start to finish, he never wanted to be the person who just silently watches.
Now that he knows the truth, he won’t give up easily.
On the other side, Andrea quickly threw on a light jacket and headed to the gallery.
The moment the security door was pushed open, Andrea’s nose caught a hint of citrus.
She looked up and saw Quinn standing at the door, with the collar of his white shirt slightly open and tiny beads of sweat on his forehead.
Eyes down, right hand holding a cake box with cream patterns.
“I passed by a newly opened dessert shop.”

He walked in, and gently placed the cake box on the entryway table.
“You seemed a bit down lately, so I thought I’d get you some dessert.”
In her amber eyes, there was a gentle smile, but when her gaze unconsciously shifted away, a hint of imperceptible dimness appeared.
Andrea cleared her throat.
“Thank you.”
She could feel his deep affection hidden beneath his gentleness, but the more intense the feeling, the more overwhelming her guilt became.
Quinn obviously sensed her discomfort and tactfully changed the subject.
“Ready to go out?”
He slightly turned to the side to make way, “Are you going to the gallery?”
“Um.”
She answered hastily, almost as if fleeing, and walked out the door.
“I gave it to you.”
Silent all the way, when the glass door of the gallery was pushed open, the wind chime made a crisp sound.
