“Uncle, you can think about my suggestion and give me an answer before noon tomorrow.”
After saying that, he suddenly turned around and walked quickly towards the outside of the private room.
“Roderick!”
Caroline exclaimed and quickly turned around, embracing her trembling daughter.
“Matilda, don’t be sad, we don’t care about him!”
Marvin stood aside, frowning, looking at the contract on the table, with a mixed expression.
Matilda suddenly went quiet, with resentment boiling in her eyes.
She stared at the tightly closed compartment door, murmuring softly.
“Roderick, you will regret it…”

The moment the hallway sensor light turned on, Roderick’s fingers tightened suddenly on the door handle.
Andrea always left the spot for her slippers empty.
The sound of heartbeat suddenly became clear, leather shoes stepping on the marble floor, he deliberately lightened his steps.
The smell of bone soup wafted from the kitchen, mixed with Andrea’s

coquettish voice.
“Mom, did you put too little salt? Add another half spoon and try again…”
Roderick cleared his throat, raised his hand and pushed back the stray hair on his forehead.
“Andie, go to the storage locker and get the bag of goji berries.”
Scarlett put the chopped green onions into a porcelain plate, “right in the third drawer.”
“Good!”
Andrea walked out of the kitchen and ran into a solid meat wall.
In the moment when our eyes met, she suddenly took a step back.
“Bro, you’re back.”
Roderick looked down at her with a mix of panic and fake calmness in his eyes, a bitter taste rising in his throat.
“Um.”
He forced himself not to look at her, turned away expressionlessly.
As they passed by each other, he caught a faint scent of jasmine from her hair, which overlapped with the lingering fragrance in his memory, causing a sudden ache in his heart.
Andrea watched as he disappeared around the corner of the stairs, her nails digging deep into her palm.
“Andrea, what are you missing?“.
She asked herself sarcastically in her heart.

“Isn’t this what you wanted? Keep your distance, go back to being just siblings.”
However, the emotions churning in my chest were like wild horses running loose, out of control.
During dinner, the atmosphere at the table was so tense it was suffocating.
Lucian watched as the two of them buried their heads in their meal, the hand holding the chopsticks hovering over the sweet and sour ribs.
“Andie loved this the most, Roderick, can you help your sister get two pieces?”
Roderick slowly put down the fork, his voice devoid of any warmth.
“She can handle it herself.”
Andrea stared at the rice in the bowl, her throat feeling like it was stuffed with cotton.
Scarlett looked at her daughter’s face with concern, wanting to say something but hesitating.
The whole dining process, only the sound of utensils clashing intermittently, was extremely stifling.
After dinner, Scarlett caught up with Andrea who was about to go back to her room in the garden.
“Andie, did you and Roderick have a fight? At the dinner table today, you didn’t even talk…”
Andrea forced out a smile.
“Mom, don’t worry too much. Lately I’ve been busy with the gallery,

and my brother has his own job to focus on. We’re just tired, but everything is fine.”
Scarlett sighed and gently patted her daughter’s hand.
“Don’t carry everything on your own.”
When her mother turned and left, Andrea hung her head in despair.
Now it’s all good, they don’t interfere with each other, let the past secrets rot in the heart forever.
