Chapter 106
“Mr. Hodgson! Someone forced their way through the gate at the bottom of the mountain! The biometric system has been destroyed by physical means!”
Roderick furrowed his brow, with bloodshot eyes.
He took out the walkie–talkie, with a cold tone.
“Activate grid defense, deploy Team B to guard the mountain pass, intercept anyone they see, no exceptions.”
At the foot of the mountain, Quinn projected the satellite map onto the windshield of the off–road vehicle.
His fingers brushed over the blinking red dot, and he gave orders into the headset.
“The drone scouted the cliff to the southeast, where the security is
weaker.”
In the noisy rain, his phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated.
It’s Scarlett’s phone.
Quinn’s eyes flickered slightly, and he opened the AI software after answering the phone.
The next moment, the AI synthesized voice of Andrea came from the phone.
“Mom, why are you calling me so late?”
There was Scarlett’s muffled gasp mixed in with the sound of the

current.
“Andie? Is that really you?”
In the phone speaker, the AI synthesized voice had just the right amount of huskiness and gentleness.
“Mom, it’s me, Andie.”
“Where are you? Are you hurt?”
After hearing Andrea’s voice, Scarlett got really excited, her voice suddenly raised, and in the background, there was the sound of porcelain clashing, obviously she was so anxious that she knocked over the tea cup beside her.
“Quinn said you were resting, but there hasn’t been any news for three days…”
“Mom, I’m fine.”
The simulated voice trembled slightly, “I just got a little scared,” Quinn said, “so he took me abroad to relax and a change of scenery would help.”
“Going abroad? Then what about your health…”
“You really don’t have to worry.”
Al imitated Andrea’s coquettish tone.
“When I come back, let’s plan the engagement party properly.”
“Let’s not talk now, Quinn is urging me to board, love you, mom!”
As I hung up the phone, the rain suddenly started pouring down harder.

“Mr. Shillingford!”
The technician came running with a tablet in his hand.
“Roderick activated the mountain power grid, and at least one–third of the manpower was lost in the frontal assault!”
Quinn took a deep breath and dialed another number.
In the pouring rain, I heard the forestry bureau director’s sigh of distress over the phone.
“Mr. Shillingford, we sent someone to patrol Mount Northholt this morning, but found no signs of smuggling. Now, leading the team into the mountains without proper procedures…”
“That black SUV disappeared in your jurisdiction.”
Quinn was in a bad mood.
“I had good reason to suspect that Roderick was engaging in illegal transactions under the name of an overseas company.”
I heard the sound of papers shuffling on the other end of the phone.
“But the provincial department just issued a notice, focusing on cracking down on illegal construction in the development zone recently… How about this, we finish the process, at the latest by next week…”
“Next week?!”
Quinn was grinding his teeth.
“Time waits for no one. If you guys don’t cooperate, I’ll handle it myself tonight.”

“Young people, don’t be impulsive!”
The director of the Forestry Bureau raised his voice, “Now we are using police force to close the mountain. Once it’s exposed by the media, they will say we are turning a blind eye…”
Quinn hung up the phone directly.
He didn’t want to hear any more useless nonsense.
He looked at Mount Northholt hidden in the fog, and growled into his earpiece.
“The drone is in position! Tell the demolition team, in three minutes, listen to my command!”
