Chapter 51 Chapter 51

Chapter 51 Chapter 51
"Those two siblings are such a pain!" Leora screamed, frustrated at being outsmarted by them. If there was one ability she wished she could add to her powers—impossible as it was—it would be mind-reading. She believed she could win every battle if she knew how her enemies would attack, and more importantly, those two prankster siblings wouldn't be able to trick her. "You’ll get what’s coming to you!" she grumbled before teleporting to Alabaskar.

As soon as she vanished, a shadow emerged from behind a tree, a smirk spreading across its face.

"If your King managed to survive, well, this old mortal won't. Tonight, I will end his life!"

The figure walked toward the old man’s quarters and observed. He was at the window, talking to Yfraim. The shadow considered taking them both out at once but feared it might ruin the plan. It was better to target the mortal first, as he wouldn't sense the impending danger.

When the two men faced each other, the shadow executed the plan. It was perfect—the old man’s back was turned, and even if Yfraim tried to help, it would be too late.

The figure notched an arrow, pulled back the bowstring, and once the distance was gauged, released it. As the arrow sank into the old man’s back, the assassin knew it had pierced his heart.

"Rodrigo!!!" the Werewolf King screamed. He caught the old man and looked toward the source of the shot, locking eyes with the figure. The assassin smirked—a triumphant grin—and then heard the King shout again: "Leora!!!"

The shadow quickly fled; if the person the King called for—the very person whose form the assassin had mimicked—showed up, the cover would be blown.

"HEY! YOU CRAZY FOOL!"

Ryuk couldn't dodge in time as Leora smacked him upside the head upon arriving at Alabaskar.

"What was that for?!" he barked at her.

"You and your brother are out of your minds, Ryuk!" She flicked his ear, hitting her mark just like before.

"Stop it already. Aren't you embarrassed in front of your boyfriend? You’re acting like a lunatic right in front of him."

Instead of being shy around Gray, she simply waved at him.

"When did you get here?" Gray asked happily. They were all inside the cell of the four captives.

"Just a few minutes ago."

"I'm glad you're fine."

"Of course I'm fine; we didn't even run into any enemies." Leora sat beside her boyfriend. Thor and Leron just watched the two of them, while Fiel stood by the cell bars, staring outside. Obviously, he was looking for his girlfriend.

"Where is Aurora? Isn't she coming to visit?"

'I knew it,' Ryuk thought.

"Only I came home, Fiel," Leora answered her friend’s boyfriend with hesitation.

"What do you mean only you came home?"

The four captives turned their full attention to the two of them. Fiel had every right to be angry, but considering Aurora and Arnold’s skills, they were sure to survive wherever they were going.

"Aurora sent me back because she had a dream that Yfraim would be in danger tonight. She was worried about him, and I was worried about our King too, so I came back."

"And you just agreed?!" Fiel’s voice was higher than usual. Ryuk tapped the others on the shoulders and they moved back, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire if a fight broke out. He wasn't a killjoy; if they were going to scrap, he wasn't going to stop them.

"I’ll explain, okay? Just calm down. Aurora told me to come home and that we’d wait for her at their mansion." At those words, Fiel visibly relaxed. Ryuk wanted to laugh, knowing Fiel assumed his girlfriend was already safely at the mansion.

This is getting interesting...

"You should have said she was at the mansion from the start. I'm just worried about her, especially since she’s new to our world. She hasn't fully adjusted and doesn't know the real dangers she's facing."

"Yes, you're right. I'm worried about Aurora too, Fiel," Ryuk added mournfully. He wanted to fuel the fire because he was bored; he wanted to see who would win in a hand-to-hand fight between the two. Fiel couldn't use his powers in that cell, and he knew Leora fought fair with her allies, so she likely wouldn't use her powers either.

Leora glared at him, but he just winked.

"The thing is, Fiel... it's just that—"

"What's the problem?"

"Aurora isn't at the mansion, and we can't find her."

"What?!!" Fiel stood up, clearly fuming but still trying to restrain himself. "Where were you even supposed to go?"

"To Garantiara. I don't know about the other places because we didn't see the map before I left."

"Garantiara?" Fiel searched his mind for the location.

"Damn it!" Leron cursed.

"Why?!"

"That’s one of the most dangerous immortal places, Fiel! That’s where the high immortals live! Son of a bitch!"

"And you let Aurora walk there alone?!!!" Fiel’s voice thundered through Alabaskar. "You’re her guardian, Ryuk! Why didn't you go with them?!"

'Oh, fuck!' Ryuk thought. He didn't expect to get dragged into their argument. He was just bored and didn't feel like fighting today.

"She isn't alone," he defended himself. "Besides, I was about to follow them when I had a vision. My sister needed me because she was in danger."

"Would your sister even be in danger when all your guards are here on the mountain and we already told Alyana to send her wolf friends here?!" Fiel countered, livid.

"You should have told us!" Leora shouted back. Her fists weren't clenched yet, so she was still relatively calm despite the volume.

"What about Aurora now?! She’s facing danger alone?! Fuck!"

"Don't worry, she’s not alone. Arnold is with her," Ryuk answered.

Instead of calming down, Fiel’s brows furrowed deeper, his jaw tightening at the mention of the aswang’s name.

"Arnold Meyers? That aswang?" Gray interjected.

"Yeah," Ryuk said shortly.

"You know him?!" Fiel snapped at Gray.

"Yes, and bro! That man is a total hunk! Black and huge, bro. He looks like Chris Evans—the Black version of Captain America. He's way more handsome than you, br—" Gray trailed off when he saw Fiel’s face darken even further. Fiel looked like a bull seeing red. Gray raised both hands. "I'm just telling the truth, bro."

The wolf within Ryuk found the scene quite amusing.

"Shut up, Gray!" Fiel pointed a finger at his friend.

"What did I do?" Gray asked innocently before turning away and whistling.

"Damn it! How do we get to Aurora?!"

"Truthfully, we don't know. Only the King of Cretagos can show the way to Garantiara. Sorry, Fiel. Believe me, I didn't want to leave Aurora, but I had no choice. I'm sorry..." Leora said sincerely.

Fiel was about to speak when they were interrupted by Yfraim’s scream.

"What's happening?" they all asked at once. Leora vanished instantly.

"Stay here for now. I'll be back," Ryuk told the four before vanishing himself.
