Chapter 24 Chapter 24
"I don't know how to control myself whenever you're around, you know what I mean, right?" She nodded in response, knowing exactly what he meant because they felt the same way. She didn't say anything, so he continued. "But I need to hold back because I want us to get married before anything happens, because I love you more than my desires."
He sat down and pulled out a heart-shaped box from his pocket and opened it.
"Aurora, will you spend forever with me? You and me, forever. Let me share my victories with you. I want to face battles while holding your hand."
They seemed to have reached new heights in their relationship at that moment. It was as if a crystal had shattered and their spirits had met. She saw unfathomable emotion in Fiel's eyes, and she felt like melting like a snowflake on a sunny day, her heartbeat accelerating.
"I could see stars even with my eyes closed. They were a beautiful sight, but the love you've given me is more beautiful. You're the reason why the stars always shine so bright for me. Because of you, I started wishing for love and forever. And I knew it had been granted. So, my loving Doctor Fiel, yes, I'm willing to spend forever with you." She was already tearing up due to the overwhelming emotions.
Fiel was overjoyed. He put the ring on Aurora's finger, and in his excitement, he lifted her up.
"I'll be at peace if I'm the one taking care of you. I don't want to lose you to anyone else because I wouldn't be able to handle it. I love you."
"I love you too, Doc. You know I love you so much."
She hugged the doctor tightly. She had nothing more to wish for. She felt like she was almost complete, and she was lucky.
They were all in the living room, chatting and waiting for night to fall. They wouldn't be going to the Wolf's Cradle in an ordinary way; they would teleport there to save time.
"Girl, you're really something, your diamond ring matches your beauty," Leora said to her friend while chewing on salad.
"Right now, my only wish is for all the problems to be over and for us to eliminate what's supposed to be eliminated."
"We shouldn't be complacent because we don't know how to face Morgana. All I know is that she's really bad."
Aurora thought about what Leron said. What if they couldn't defeat their enemy because they didn't know its weaknesses? That would be very risky.
"Ryuk and Leora will take care of finding information about Morgana. You two focus on how to get the sword at the waterfall," Ryuk said to the couple.
"When do you plan to get the sword?" Aurora's dad asked, his face filled with worry. Aurora approached him and leaned on him.
"Tomorrow night, Dad. Don't worry, nothing bad will happen. We'll come back, and all the chaos in our lives will be over."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of your princess."
"Thanks, hijo, I'll count on you."
"Do they know about the differences, Fiel?" Everyone turned to Gray, who was serious.
"What differences?" Leora asked.
"We'll talk about it after they get the sword." Gray pointed at us.
When night fell, they decided to leave. Ryuk put a protection spell on the house so no one could enter while they were away.
A few seconds passed, and they were already at Wolf's Cradle. There was almost a royal rumble because of the vampires with them, but Ryuk and Yfraim managed to stop it.
"Welcome back, Aurora."
She smiled at Yfraim, who was really handsome and charming.
"I've prepared your room. Aurora, no matter what happens, we're always here for you. We won't leave you behind."
"Thanks."
They smiled and nodded at her in response.
"Rest now so you'll have strength for tomorrow. Ryuk and I will go gather information," Leora said before turning to Yfraim. "You want to talk to me?"
"Yes, follow me."
Ryuk escorted them to their rooms first. Aurora thanked Ryuk again. Ryuk tapped her shoulder in response, a gesture he used to do sometimes.
While the others were in their rooms, Ryuk, Yfraim, and Leora were talking.
"There are different creatures that are Morgana's allies, but that's not the problem," Yfraim started.
"What's the problem?" Leora asked.
"There's no guarantee we'll find the location of the Veracrest kingdom, so it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. We might not even find Morgana unless she shows herself. Secondly, she has a very powerful vampire ally."
"Should we be worried about that?" Leora asked. If they were worried, it meant the situation was serious.
"Even Aurora's parents, who were extremely strong, lost to her. What chance do we have, especially Aurora, who's still new to this world?" Yfraim replied.
"Aurora is strong, Yfraim. Don't underestimate her abilities. When they get the sword at the waterfall, it'll be an added advantage," Ryuk defended the girl. However, he was worried about the possible outcome. He didn't sense good things from the future, but he didn't want to voice it out to avoid adding more worries. They were strong, after all, with the abilities of the four vampire men. "And getting to Veracrest isn't a problem," Ryuk added, pulling out a ruby-colored stone.
"What's that?" Leora asked.
"I got it from one of Morgana's followers. It's like a passage to the location of Veracrest."
"You're so wise, Ryuk. You have a great sense of humor," Leora said, impressed.
"We have one more problem," Yfraim said, and Ryuk and Leora looked at him.
"What now, Ryuk? Always problems. What's next?" Leora asked, scratching her head.
"The four of them are vampires. What if they attack Veracrest during the day? They'll be like roasted meat."
"Their lineage allows them to walk in the day. The sun won't be a problem as long as they're not too exposed," Ryuk replied.
"Yfraim," Leora called the king's attention.
"What?"
"Do you know anything about the differences?"
Yfraim paused for a moment. "Yes! That's our answer. We need to find them."
After their conversation, Ryuk and Leora left.
Aurora and Fiel were currently at a stream.
"I used to be here all the time. It's beautiful because the water sparkles when the moonlight shines on it."
"That's where you saw the serpent?"
"Yes. I don't know where it is now. It just disappeared like foam on the night we talked. How will these necklaces help?"
"Aurora, these necklaces were just a means for us to meet."
"But the serpent said—"
"What we need is at the waterfall. But knowing my grandfather, he might have placed a protection spell in the cave at the center of the waterfall, which is why no one has succeeded in getting the sword. Maybe when the two necklaces and pendant were combined, the spell's effect was nullified, but I'm not sure," the young man replied, embracing Aurora. "Let's go so you can rest. The air is getting cold."
"You're just pretending, but even a simple hug from you feels special."
"Want to go on a date, my love?"
"When? You just thought of that now?"
"Now."
"Right now? Where?"
She didn't know if the young man was joking, but she felt like going on a date with him. She felt like their lives were limited, so she wanted to make the most of every day with him. They didn't know what the future held.
