Chapter 19

Isabella POV

Everyday since I have been locked in this separate cell, Romanio had made it a point of duty to stop by the cell to remind me of his offer but I know better than to trust him. He is an unreliable man who only takes pleasure in taking rather than fulfilling his promises. I had not shifted after the last time and I am guessing it is because there were no triggers around me.

I heard the sound lf the door knob turning from the outside and I knew that I am about to have an unwanted guest, Octavia popped her head from the other side after she had opened the door then she finally comes in with a tray of food.

She drops the tray on the table and then stood in front of me with her habds placed underneath her breast staring at her features “whoever sold you to Romanio should have just kept you to themselves” she spat, her tone icy but I know better than to take her words to heart. Just as Romanio had made it his duty to remind me of the opportunity that would come with mating with him, Octavia had made it hers to remind me of her displeasure lf seeing me here everyday.

I wondered if there were no other maids who could attend to me other than Octavia who always had something spiteful to say to me but the questions I my head has always gone answered each time I see her. “If you are thst tired lf seeing me why don’t you stop coming?” I asked shifting my gaze to the door.

“Oh now you think you can talk back at me because you are here, getting a first class treatment while the other girls that came with you and doing what they were sold for” Octavia spat again sounding so irritated.

I could feel something crawling underneath my skin as she spoke but I lay it no his as I listened to her ranting, I have had images of me slamming her head on the table and I wondered if today would be that day that my imagination comes to play.

“Look at me when I am speaking to you” she said in a high pitch voice trying to sound commandingly but it sounded like she was asking for a cry for help.

“I will do well to eat up when I feel hungry” I replied her curtly laying back on the bed and then facing the wall.

I hear a little bit murmuring before I hear the door shut close behind her, I turned around tower the emptiness lf the room while I sighed deeply “I am tired” I whispered to myself, with the way things are going I might never be allowed to leave this prison like room or even step out of this building as a whole. I hate it here.

Alessandro’s POV

Gustav, Marcus and Leon had kept to theur words. They decided a means lf getting into hells pit without getting noticed. They had mapped out a perfectly solid plan that would me get Isabella from Romanio’s grasp.

So now I’m currently walking in the shadows of hells pit, accompanied by Marcus who had opened the hidden gate of hells pit to me. It feels like I am in a tunnel and the only visible light was from the touch I was holding.

"Are you sure Romanio does not have this places guarded and watched” I asked because I would not want to walk into my death.

I had taken the risk of stepping inside myself because we wanted to be swift but then again going by myself could be a bad idea since I have no back up.

Marcus. "We've disabled the security cameras and alarms… you don’t have to worry about the guards."

We evenyslly walked through the tunnel finding ourselves at the heart of the hallway, Marcus continued to lead to way until we stop in front of a door “this is her cell”

Just then two men started approaching us and I became a little bit apprehensive but Marcus spoke up “is the area clear?” He asked them and they both nodded standing in front of the room while Marcus struggled to open thd door.

He eventually opened the door punching ot open. Isabella sat on the bed, her eyes fixed on me. She looked pale and drawn, she looked like she had not been getting enough sunlight despite the really large window at the top of her cell.

"Are you okay?" I whispered.

Isabella nodded, her voice barely audible. "I'm fine." She held my hands, squeezing it lightly as her head fell on my shoulders.

I pulled back, my eyes scanning her face. "We need to get out of here," I said.

She withdrew her head from my shoulders as she stood up from the bed ready to leave the cell.

Marcus led us out lf hells pit and we were accompanied by the two guards who stood as a form of look out for us.

When I got to the car, Carlos quickly opens the door letting us in and then he sped away taking us home.

When we got home, I discovered that Isabella had fallen asleep on my shoulders. I carried her into the house, taking her to my room, I was tempted to watch her sleep but I had to sort somethings out.

I went back to the room shortly and I just led on the my side watching her as she sleep, I noticed the rise and fall of her chest as slept, it seemed like she had not slept in days and I could be right. Isabella stirred, her eyes fluttering open. She looked up at me, a soft smile on her face.

"Alessandro," she whispered.

I smiled back, my heart racing with excitement. "I'm here," I said. "You're safe now."

Isabella nodded, her eyes filling with tears. "Thank you," she whispered.

“Thank you for rescuing me” she said faintly but I still heard the words clearly.
