Chapter 13

Isabella

“What is happening here, Octavia?” The voice spike from the shadows.

The voice sounded familiar but I could not place a face to it or remember where I had heard it before. “Not.. nothing” Octavia stuttered as she tried to lock the gates back with immediate effect, whoever that person is, is definitely of higher authority than Octavia and I low-key liked how she was jumpy.

“What are you doing in the cells by this time?” The voice spoke up again, the person was still talking from the shadows.

Octavia eventually locked the locks of the cells without dropping the keys on the floor and then she turned to her side to where the voice was coming from “I just came here to check the inmates” she said, her voice was a little bit shaky.

I rested my head back on the wall not feeling bothered about what Octavia was going through because she had literally came here to call me names, now the other girls were going to look at me weirdly and in as much as I want to laugh at her predicament right now, I just want to relax my head and bask in my own imaginations.

“Open the gates..”

I hear the voice say again, I shifted slightly on the ground, I look at the other inmates who now looked a little bit scared. I watched Octavia intently as she struggled with the keys “you can leave now” the voice said again from thd shoulders and just as I was about to wonder who it was, tge owner of the voice appeared just in from of the cell staring directly at me.

It was Romanio, the owner of hell’s pit, my thoughts had begin to run wild, what was he doing here? Did he come to inform me of the same thing Octavia had talked about just few minutes ago or is he here for a different reason. “Come with me Isabella” he said curtly before turning away.

The other inmates now had their eyes fully on me and I became really conscious.

I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But then, I remembered the conversation I had with Octavia earlier. Romanio was probably here to inform me of the same thing that Alessandro had been asked to step down as Mafia King in exchange for my freedom.

I took a deep breath and stood up, my eyes fixed on Romanio's back. The other inmates watched me with a mixture of curiosity and fear as I followed Romanio out of the cell.

We walked in silence, Romanio leading the way through the prison hallways, I felt a lot of watchful eyes on me and I could not help but scratch the nape of my neck nervously.

We finally arrived at the front of a big wooden door, Romanio pushed the door open and gestured for me to enter. It was an office, from the big frame sitting on the wall I could tell that the office belonged to Romanio.

Romanio offered me a seat while he sat on the table watching me. "So, Isabella," he said, his voice low, I watched his face and it was unreadable “you seem like a very special Omega."

He did not call me out here to talk about the Don, he said he was talking about my wolf form. I frowned, unsure of what to say  "What do you mean?" I asked, why was he bothered about my wolf form? My head reeled with different questions

Romanio smiled, his eyes shone brightly as he played with the tennis ball on the desk. "If I didn't know better, I would have fallen for this act… you look like a dominant omega” he spoke up again with a lot of conviction that scared even me.

I have been a wolfless omega for years and I just recently got to hear my wolf speak because I came in contact with my mate so I had no idea of what he was saying.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about” I finally found my voice, I stared at my empty feet trying to avoid his intense gaze.

Romanio chuckled lightly “let us say that you have been in the dark of who you truly are.. so, we are going to try something out now to be sure of what you truly are” Romanio said making me wonder what he was saying.

He reached out for my palms, I hesitated a bit dragging my hands back but he held onto it and then before I knew it, he was doing something in my palms. Suddenly, I felt my wolf side gripping my insides, fighting to break free. I tried to resist, but it was too late. My body began to shift, my insides curling as my wolf side took over.

I felt a wave of panic wash over me as I realized I was losing control. Romanio’s eyes shined with excitement as he watched me transform.

"Are you trying to fight it?," he whispered. "Fight it, Isabella you can do this” he said, his voice dripped wuth sarcasm.

I snarled, my wolf side raging out of control. I was trapped in a living nightmare, and I didn't know how to escape.

Romanio's laughter echoed through the room, fueling my rage. I launched myself at him, my claws outstretched.

But Romanio was too quick. He dodged my attack with ease, his eyes never leaving mine.

"You're a true dominant omega, Isabella," he whispered, his voice dripping with admiration. I snarled, my wolf side still raging out of control. Romanio's words only fueled my anger, and I launched myself at him again. What did this man do to me?

This time, Romanio was ready. He grabbed me, holding me in a tight grip as I struggled to break free.

"Enough, Isabella," he whispered, his breath hot against my ear. "You've proven your point. You're a dominant omega and you will be put to good use."

I glared up at him, my wolf side still simmering just below the surface. Romanio's eyes shone with amusement as he released me, stepping back to look at the little chaos that had taken place on the table, the mark of my fingers were everywhere on the big wooden table.

"You're a true gem, Isabella," he whispered, again. "I should take the universe for bringing you my way but then again maybe it is way for me to claim what is truly mine..” he said as he laughed out loud sounding like a maniac.
