Chapter 11

Alessandro 

“I told you it was a bad idea going there like that” Carlos said whining in my ear. 

I have never been embarrassed like that in my entire life and I’m not going to lie. That little servant Octavia had ordered the guards to take me out “Otavia had the guts to tell the guards to walk me out” I said ignoring Carlos completely and thinking of ways to break her bones. 

“Is that what you are worried about now?” He asked in a rather annoying tone because he should not be questioning me like this.

I gave him a day off to do whatever he likes but when I got back to the house shortly after, I saw Carlos in my study sorting out the papers that I had left behind. I don’t have any problem with that but he just had to speak and remind me of the embarrassment I had faced.

“Is there a particular reason why you are in my study right now, Carlos?” I asked flipping through the papers I had seen Carlos arranging earlier on.

“You gave me the day off but I decided to do something more useful with it” Carlos replied stretching his arms wide open indicating tge reason why he was currently in my private study. 

I looked away from him still trying to maintain the anger I was feeling from the earlier disappointment I had felt but the presence of Carlos in my study was a steady distraction. I flexed my muscles as I looked at Carlos direction again and then an idea struck me. 

“Call for an emergency meeting with the council members” I spoke up commandingly.

Carlos looked at me in a questioning manner but then I raised my index finger up to shut him up before he woukd say whatever he had in mind “tell them that it is an emergency and it is regarding the welfare of Don Lucifer” I said dismissively “make sure the invitation is extended to Romanio” I said finally before turning away.

“Okay Don” he said before I heard the sound of the door closing behind him and then the silence of my office engulfed me making my thoughts to run wild.

“I apologize for the short notice for this meeting” I said looking round the table “.. and I also apologize for not keeping to the time of this meeting, I needed all members to be present before we kick it off” Romanio sat opposite me at the other edge and he had a smirk on his face. 

“No! that is not a bother at all.. we understand” one of the council members spoke but then again I was referring to Romanio who had arrived at the meeting exactly an hour late trying to tempt the west of my hands and I am sure he is aware of what the meeting is about which is why he can dare come this late.

“You see some of us have businesses to run.. businesses that involves the satisfying the pleasure of of people so we can not always be available” Romanio says lowly tryung to dismiss the other council member and justify his lateness.

I hand balled into a fist as I clenched my jaw, Romanio is trying to be witty today but he is not going to get a reaction from me until I discuss the issue at hand and then seek the counsel from the other council members.

I and Romanio engaged in a brief staring contest before he turns away “we are gathered here for you don Lucifer so why don’t you state your course of concern already” he spoke up again earning glares from the other council members.

“The reason why we are here is to ask Romanio over here to release one of his prisoners to me which also happens to be my fated mate…” 

There was a little bit of murmuring before Romanio broke the silence “Wait.. what?” Romanio asked chuckling, this cocky bastard thinks he can do whatever he likes “I have no prisoners Alessandro but what I do have are workers who are either paying up a debt or working to earn theur pay” Romanio said making me clench my jaw even tighter.

“What would it cost to buy the freedom of one of your said workers?” I asked watching his expression as he studied mine too, the rest of the council members sat silently without interfering in the exchange that was happening.

“I do not sell my workers, neither do I give them out. I heard of your display at my place of business and I must say that I am really disappointed, I should be the one calling for this meeting to reprimand you but no you called for it thinking I would bend to your wants… things don’t work like that Alessandro” Romanio replied as he played with his fingers, this time around he did not spare me a glance like he has been doing since this meeting started.

“I have heard all that before, from your chief servant or as you’d call her your worker” I made air quotes in the air for the last word “but that is not what I want to hear from you, you of all people should know when to bow down to authority, Romanio.”

He burst into a fit laughter “maybe we should revisit this topic when everybody is in their right state of mind” another council member spoke but then Romanio stopped laughing immediately “we came out here for this, to listen to your Don tell me how to run my business and who to release to him so we have to settle this here and now” 

“I know why you want her, I know why you are fighting tooth and nail to get her. She is an omega and also a breeder so you think she would be of some good to you” Romanio said again but this time around he sounded more serious, the smiles were no longer on his lips.

“Like I said earlier, she is my mate and I need her to be out of hells out to be able to claim her…”

“Isn’t this wonderful, Alessandro? You came for pleasure but then you meet me your mate is working for me to pleasure my esteem customers.. I will release her to you but only on one condition” he said smiling devilishly at me.

“Which is?” 

“You handover your position to me and then she will be yours” 

This fucking bastard thinks he can play with me like this, I snacked my lips. I blame the universe for placing my life in this bastard’s prison.
