Chapter 15

‘‘How can I help you?’’ I asked, sighing, confident that he won't do anything to me with all these humans around.

‘‘Can I have a moment with you? Miss Alexis?’’ I heard that you are not the most sincere child of this class,’’ he said, making me widen my eyes.

‘‘Seriously? Since when?’’ I asked the chancellor without hesitating, making everyone laugh in the class as they were the witness to my wrongdoings and the number if times I had been scolded by him in front of everyone, on the same podium where he was giving a speech just now.

‘‘Of course you are, Alexis. The chancellor said with a stiff and awkward smile, making me look at him with quirked brow.

Well, this was not what he said last month when he was scolding me about my result.

‘‘Your statement is recorded, Mr chancellor. I'll hold ypi accountable for it next time ypu say anything otherwise. The students in this class, my dear colleagues, are witnesses to that, aren't you guys?’’ I shouted back, making everyone shout back a yes.I looked at the chancellor with a smirk, glad that I was able to put him in a tough spot just like how he did to me. First, with that 100 demerit point warning, all those scoldings, and now, putting me on the spotlight in front of everybody.

My smirk, making everyone chuckle at the chancellor contorted face.

‘‘Alexis dear, what are yoh talking about? Let's talk with the founder, yeah? We'll talk about this matter later,’ Chancellor said, making me nod.

‘‘Sure, why would I hace a problem with that? After all, I am one of the most sincere students here,’’ I said, and from the contorted look on his face, I knew what he was thinking.

Well, he can't exactly give me demerit points just because I was talking like that. So why not hace a little bit of fun?

Winking at the chancellor, I followed Blake out of the class, leaving a laughing class and a seething chancellor behind.

‘‘Well, Mr Blake, how can I help you?’’ I asked, still smiling, remembering the chancellor contorted face.

‘‘You are having way too much fun in this human university, aren't you?’’ He asked, with amusement filled eyes, making me tilt my head and look up at him.

Was that a compliment of a sarcastic remark?

‘‘Well, they treat me better than how my species did, and I don't see why I shouldn't enjoy the courtesy and love that I get here, which I must mention, my species should have given me. So, yes, I am having fun in this Hunan university. And u think I should fe thankful to your Alpha for sponsoring an all human university or I wouldn't have stumbled upon it when I was homeless and hopeless,’’ I remarked back, not knowing where the courage or confidence was coming from.

And, I didn't know if I was being delusional again, but I think I saw a flicker of emotion in his eyes.

‘‘Well, we are glad that we could be of service to you, Miss Alexis,’’ he said, rolling his eyes before continuing.

‘‘I have called you out to tell you that you cannot leave this place untill you are permitted by our alpha. We are not clear on your current situation, and thus, we are not deciding anything at the moment. We would like to study your case to know whether to punish you severely or leave you after a small punishment,’’ he said, pausing in between before he bent a little closer to me, making my breath hitch. Not because I was afraid of him, but because his Cologne and scent were a little not too sexy and alluring for me. Not to forget his handsome and chiseled face, which was a little bit too close to mine for my own liking.

‘‘If you don't follow my words, then I'll make sure to hunt your little ass down. And you won't like to know the end of it,’’ Blake said, and this time, I felt chills running down my apinr at his warning. I looked at him, gulping on my saliva nervously before nodding at him.

I got your word man. I told him by my gesture, hoping he would get it because my dumb brain was too shocked to signal my mouth to utter a word.

Stupid brain. Get put of the gutter and focus on the warning that he shot toward us. I reprimanded myself before scowling hard, my eyes finding its way back to his eyes with a challenging look.

I mean, what's wrong with this guy? I mean he could've just said I wasn't allowed to go anywhere untill the investigation is done. There was no need to be so rude about it. What's with hunt me down? And did he just day my little ass?

How dare he say a word to me like that when we had just met?

‘‘Well, I wonder if you would'nt have been the same if you were dealing with a lantern, who was breaking rules by living with the humans without a human being her mate. Doing something that was but allowed in our world,’’ Ariana said, making me look at her wide eyed.

This was probably the first time she had agreed that I was a lantern.

As if realising her mistake, she started correcting herself. However, her words were cut off by Blake. Who after staring at me for God knows how long, smiled and said.

‘‘Besides me being your teacher, j dint think you'll be having as much fun as you're having right now. Because Miss Alexis, you'll be under my constant observation,’’ he said, leaning more closer to me. If possible, making me look at him involuntarily.

Does he really think hellybe able to stop me from living my life? He doesn't know who I am. I am Alexis Clark. The ruler of my own life and the infamous lantern rogue that everyone had been searching for, for so long. Not to mention, a rogue that is backed by the council itself.

My life alreadybgot fuvked up from the moment I met you. Now, I'll just have to wait and see how much more fucked up it can get,’’ I commented, smirking at hkm before I turned around and left.

I know talking back to a guy who will decide whether I get to live or not was a bad decision, but I had already had enough with people walking over me when I was a member of that lousy pack. Now I was a free soul, who have developed this bad habit since I left my earlier packl. And that is, I don't take shit from anyone.

I indeed felt a little bit intimidated earlier, but knowing that this might be the last moment I get to live since my life and future had always been unpredictable like this, I didn't want to live like a pussy and follow a guy's useless talks.

Entering the class, my eyes making contact with the chancellor, who was going out at the same time, I smiled at everyone, making everyone holler in laughter.

Well, my attitude was what everyone loved and envy. And I am not going to change it even if it means getting me in trouble. It took me four freaking years to maintain this attitude, and I won't let a random beta tell me that I can't live and enjoy life among humans, who happen to be the only species who happens to accept me the way I was.
