Episode 150 || Unfortunate Encounter
Weeks spent peacefully. Christian was overjoyed when he learned Mishka was editing Scarlet’s upcoming book. He was excited to read the manuscript, and it was hard for Mishka to keep his hands away from her laptop that held all the secrets.
Little Eric also joined preschool and was extremely happy to find kids of his age to play with. Mishka was slowly coming back to her original form, but her relationship with Rose was still strained as the latter was maintaining a gap with her. Daniel, too, was a little hesitant around Mishka, and she somehow realised it and stopped going to the Knight mansion. Leo was unhappy again. He wanted Mishka close to him, in his mansion, but Christian was stubborn about living in the apartment.
“You have got an appointment with James!” Christian reminded Mishka while wearing a silk blue tie.
“I remember. I’ll drop Eric at school and then head to his clinic.” She said and turned to Eric, “It’s bathing time, come on,” She said, but Eric ran away and made Mishka chase after him. Christian laughed, looking at them, and caught Eric while he wiggled in his arms to drop him back on the floor.
Christian gave Eric to Mishka and pecked on her cheek, “Bye, take care.” He said and left for the office.

“Vera’s reports are impressive. She has movement in her legs, which is unbelievable.” Dr Ken was surprised. “You can take her home,”
A smile crept on Luke’s lips and he was thrilled with the news, but gradually his face dropped. “I don’t think I should take her home. She is sensitives to things around her. Christian and Mishka aren’t living with us now, and this might disturb Vera.”
“Should I talk to Christian?” Dr Ken asked, but Luke refused the idea.
“No, Mishka’s health is important as well, and she is improving,” Luke answered. “Let Vera stay here,” Luke stated.
“But for how long?” Ken countered.
“Until Christian’s wedding anniversary. I’m sure dad gonna throw a big party. I’ll take Vera home then,” Luke said, and Ken nodded in understanding.

Christian was handling matters related to the JM Corporation’s merger with another big firm when Ana handed him an important phone call from prison.
“Hello, Jake!” Christian answered.
“Hey! How’re you doing? How’s Mishka now?”
“We are good. How are you?” Christian asked.
“I am fine. Just wondering why didn’t Mishka came to meet me? Does she hate me after what happened?” Jake asked impatiently.
“Oh.. no no! Absolutely not! She is going through a rough time. It’s hard for her to accept we lost our baby in that accident. But we’ll come to see you soon.” Christian answered, but Jake stayed silent.
“What happened, Jake? Are you alright? Do you need something?” Christian asked when he didn’t get any response from the other end.
“Christian, Jennifer manipulated you for years and Lia was a social butterfly. You knew her from the inside out, but you were adamant about changing her for good. I know and appreciate it. But now you’re married to Mishka and I really hope you’ll never hurt her for these two mean women, who are just into your life for Knight’s money and status. Mishka’s life was already very challenging before coming to London and she greatly suffered because of my family. I don’t want her to suffer more.” Jake said, and his words made Christian frown.
“I get it, but why are you saying all this?” Christian asked, but Jake quickly slashed the topic.
“Jennifer is out, Chris!” He said and Christian shrieked on the other side of the call. “They released her. Please take care of yourself and Mishka.”

One of the servants from the Knight mansion dialled to Jennifer. “What’s the news?” She asked as soon as she picked up.
“Mrs Knight is seeing a psychologist from last some weeks,” The servant whispered.
“Oh, wow!! Now that’s splendid news, and what about Luke and Vera?” She asked.
“Vera is still in the hospital. I heard family members talking about her health and seems like she was recuperating. They are hoping she’ll be fine soon.”
“Fine, my foot!!” Jennifer shrieked. “What about that old bastard? Is he dying any soon?”
“I don’t think so. He appears fit and fine and currently planning a big celebration for Sir Christian’s first wedding anniversary.”
“Great!! Looks like I have the perfect opportunity to create havoc in their life!” She sneered, “Anyway, keep me updated and be careful.” She said and ended the call.

Mishka was in a joyous mood when she reached Dr James’s clinic. In the past few weeks, her mental health improved, but the feeling of losing her baby was still very much alive and disturbing for her. The heinous factory incidents still replay in her dreams several times but she was now in much better condition to handle the trauma.
“You have shown tremendous improvement in such a short span of time. Usually, it takes years to recover from Melancholic Depression, but you, my dear, hats off to your efforts.” James praised, and Mishka smiled ear to ear.
“Does that mean I don’t need to take medicines anymore? I, anyway, hate them.” She made faces and James chuckled.
“Of course…. NOT. You need to take them regularly. Any sudden drop or rise in blood pressure might turn dangerous.” He instructed, and Mishka nodded meekly.
“Anything you wanna share? Is there something troubling you?” James asked.
“My mental health strained my relationship with my in-law. Aunt Rose doesn’t talk to me anymore or just briefly replies to my question and leaves the place.” She said sadly, “But don’t tell Christian. I don’t want to trouble him.”
“You can trust me, Mishka. I won’t say a word to him, but my advice for you is to stop thinking about all those who left you in your hard time. Just focus on yourself and your career. How’s your editor’s job?” James diverted the topic and Mishka beamed with a smile.
“Oh, it’s going great. We have a launch next week on the Twelfth of March,” She smiled.
“On your anniversary?” James furrowed his brows.
“Yeah!!” Mishka replied excitedly.
“That’s great!” James exclaimed. “Okay then, don’t skip your medicines and we’ll meet next week.”
“Sure!” Mishka stood up as James handed her the medical file. She turned to leave while Dr James asked the nurse to send another patient.
Mishka was happily walking while reading her reports, where it was clearly stated that she was perfectly alright. “I’ll show these reports to Dadu and Rose auntie. They will be so happy,” She was talking to herself when she bumped into someone and slipped on the floor, papers flying everywhere.
“I’m so sorry. Are you hurt anywhere?” Mishka apologised to the girl she bumped into and help her stand again.
“It’s alright. I am fine.” The girl answered and turned to walk away.
“Wait… I know you!” Mishka stopped and the girl’s deep blue eyes turned to her.
“Lia Smith!!” Mishka exclaimed and Lia’s face lost all colour.
“Famous model, right?” She continued, and Lia draws her eyebrows together. “I am sorry I heard about your accident,” Mishka said as she looked at the scar on her forehead. “Are you alright now?”
“Mind in your own business, woman!” Lia sneered and quickly turned to walk away while Mishka pouted, looking at her retrieving figure.
“So rude, but she is right. I should mind my business. She must’ve been worried about something, and I started ranting. You are so stupid, Mishka!” She thought as the nurse handed her the file and she politely thanked her.

“It’s been five hours and you still can’t locate Jennifer. Where the fuck had she disappeared?” Christian growled on the phone call. “Listen, I want her at any cost.” He further added and ended the call.
He held his head in his hand and suddenly Mishka crossed his mind, “Fuck!” He muttered, quickly calling her but couldn’t connect with her. Adrenaline rushed through him and he quickly left his cabin, picking his car keys.
“Sir, we have a meeting,” Ana said in a high pitch as Christian walked past her.
“Cancel it!” He shouted back and entered the elevator.

“Amelia, my work is done! Now the marketing department and Warren need to settle things, and that doesn’t require my presence. I’ll come again only to sign the contract,” Mishka said as they took the last sip of their coffee and Amelia appeared sad.
“What happened?” Mishka asked.
“It’s just sad. This journey came to an end really soon.” She pouted. “I had a great time working with you.”
Mishka smiled, “Maybe it’s a wrap-up for now, but we’ll work again soon. Cheer up!!”
“I’ll miss you!” Amelia stood up as Mishka turned to leave. They both walked out of the Snowdrop Publication Mishka’s jaw dropped when she spotted Christian resting against his Red Audi with arms across his chest. He removed shades from his eyes and winked at Mishka.
“What are you doing here?” Mishka asked, sauntering in his direction.
“I just came to pick you up,” Christian replied, and his focus shifted to the woman standing next to Mishka.
“This is Amelia, co-editor of Scarlet’s book.” Mishka introduced, “and this is my husband, Christian.”
“Nice meeting you, sir,” Amelia shook hands with Christian, smiling sheepishly while Mishka glared at her not to open her mouth.
Christian smiled. “Glad to meet you.” He smiled and turned to Mishka, “Let’s go,” He said and opened the door of the passenger seat for Mishka, and she sat inside, waving at Amelia.
“Such a cute couple,” Amelia muttered, looking at their car from behind.

“What!!” Jennifer was left stunned when Lia mentioned Mishka.
“Yeah, she didn’t recognise me, and it’s strange.” Lia appeared confused about her brief encounter with Mishka.
“What exactly did she say?” Jennifer inquired.
“Just you are a famous model… Are you fine… that’s it?” Lia answered, “It appeared she doesn’t actually know about me.”
Jennifer smiled sinisterly. “Do you understand why?”
“Why?” Lia asked.
