Chapter 45
ANGEL SINCLAIR.
In the afternoon, I'm surprised by a visit from Lorenzo and Ashley. They both arrive at about the same time and I ask them to go up to the room together, because Ashley knows where it is, so it's better for Lorenzo too.
"Hi, it's good to see you here," I smile weakly as they enter the room.
"Oh my God, Angel! I was so worried," Ashley comes up to me and hugs me, then sits down on the pouf.
"It's all right now," I say, receiving a hug from Lorenzo and a kiss afterwards.
"I've never been so desperate for news," Lorenzo says, sitting down and touching my leg over the sheet, "You're better than I thought."
"It was just a scare, guys," I sighed, "I haven't had any injuries apart from my forehead, I just have a bit of pain in my body and head too, I think because of the blow."
"Now can you tell us more about what happened?" Ashley asks.
Of course I'd prefer to tell you when I'm alone with Ashley, because she already knows the whole story, but Lorenzo is here. I don't feel 100% comfortable talking because it involves Bryan, but I have to. I have to trust Lorenzo, after all, he's proving to be an incredible person. I can't be afraid to share my personal things with him.
"Well, Bryan's involved in this too," Ashley looks at me confused and Lorenzo looks at me seriously.
"What did he do this time?" she asks.
"Well, remember that business involving Cedric?" Ashley nods and Lorenzo looks at me confused, "I decided to go over there to help him."
"Wow! That was quite an action," Ashley says, "But how did it result in an accident?" she asks.
"Relax, I'm getting to that," I reply.
"Where did you go, Angel?", Lorenzo asks.
"Cedric, our acquaintance, had a party last night and Bryan was there. It was a heavy party and Bryan already suffers from some problems, so I didn't want him to freak out and do something stupid. I went there to bring Bryan home, because his image is also linked to my family's image and I obviously don't want my surname tarnished because of him. Bryan agreed to come with me, but he was drunk and we started arguing in the car, until I lost control of the steering wheel and crashed the car. After the crash, I automatically blacked out and woke up in hospital," I say.
"Holy shit," Ashley says, dumbfounded.
"That guy's an asshole," Lorenzo says and shakes his head, "You have to stay as far away from him as possible, Angel. It could be a lot worse."
"Bryan caused quite an accident, I didn't see that coming," Ashley says.
"Yeah, that kid gets on my nerves. His mother wants to send him back to England, but I don't know what will happen," I say.
"It would certainly be better if he went away, only then you wouldn't have to worry about what he's doing around here. You can't worry about other people's problems, Angel," he says.
"Angel, I'm sorry for telling you that you should interfere with Bryan's attitudes," Ashley says, "I just thought it was better that way so that your family wouldn't get hurt by it. If I'd known it would all come to this, I'd never have told you to take action."
"Don't worry, Ashley, I know you had the best of intentions. Bryan does need boundaries, but I'm not the one who's going to set them for him. He's not a child anymore and he has to learn to deal with the consequences of his actions," I say.
"Exactly. I hope that Madison and your father manage to solve this problem of his, but by continuing with Cedric, everything will only go from bad to worse."
"I agree with you, Ashley. Regardless of what they solve, I'm not going to get my hands dirty with this anymore. I can't worry about Bryan's nonsense and forget about myself."
"You did everything with the utmost goodwill, you shouldn't feel guilty about it. If he acted like an idiot, it's not your fault. You're always selfless and that's wonderful, but avoid using your kindness on those who don't deserve it," I smile at Lorenzo's words and pull him in for a quick kiss.
"Thank you, Lorenzo, you're amazing!" I say.
"I can see that I'm going to be left to do the sailing here," Ashley says and gets up from the pouf. Lorenzo and I laugh.
"Come on, Ashley, are you leaving already?" I ask.
"Yes, I need to look after my brothers. I just stopped by to see how you were," she says.
"It's okay, thanks for visiting," I smile and she says it back.
"Don't forget there's a championship on Sunday, you're going with us and Ian," Lorenzo says to her.
"I'm not forgetting, I'm going. Bye and have a good time, lovebirds," she says, before leaving the room.
When we're alone, I gesture for Lorenzo to lie down next to me and I turn on the television, putting on something for us to watch. I put it on quietly, because of my headache.
"I don't think I can spend much time away from you or without talking to you anymore, Angel," he says, "We've only known each other for a short time, but the feeling I'm creating for you is much greater than that time. I don't care about time".
"Least of all me," I reply, "You seem like a different person to me, Lorenzo. I don't think you're going to play with my feelings. I want to be taken seriously by someone who really likes me. I want you to know that we can be very good together. You're exactly the kind of person I want for myself”.
"And I do," he adds, "I really like you, Angel.
Lorenzo kisses me and then starts stroking my hair and it's not long before I fall asleep.
