Chapter 38
ANGEL SINCLAIR.
The kiss didn't last long, I think about 30 seconds, but it was a very good kiss. After we finish, I kiss the back of Lorenzo's neck and he gives me a smile. I smile back when he kisses the top of my forehead.
"Do you want to go home?" he asks.
"Not now, we can stay here a bit longer," I reply.
And the rest was just making out, kissing and kissing. Lorenzo is super cute, but we'll see how long that lasts. I know it's common for boys to treat girls well at first, but once they get what they want, they just disappear. I intend to hold Lorenzo back as much as possible so that this doesn't happen to me again. It's enough that Matthew did it.
Lorenzo drops me off at home around 11pm and I find my father on duty in the living room armchair. He's already in his pajamas and drinking coffee while watching TV.
"Are you awake at this hour?" I ask as soon as I walk in.
"Of course, I had to wait for you to arrive," he picks up the remote control and turns off the television.
"Well, here I am," I say, sitting down next to him.
"How was your walk?" my father asks.
"It was great! Lorenzo's a really good boy and we got on really well," I say.
"Are you really just friends?" I take a few seconds to answer.
"I don't know," is all I manage to say.
"Tell the truth, Angel. I won't condemn you, after all, you're my daughter," he says.
"Okay, Dad, we kissed".
My father smiles. All that's left is for him to want me to date or marry Lorenzo to unite our family with his family beyond the business.
"Look, I'm really happy about this. I know Lorenzo won't let you down, because he's a well-mannered boy. And above all, I already know his family. Imagine if you got into a serious relationship? We could bring our companies even closer together. They have a lot of European companies and I have American companies, it would be a perfect match.
If I hadn't known my father, I wouldn't have imagined that he would have thought of just that. Regardless of the situation, he's always looking at his business.
"Don't you think you're already thinking too big, Dad? Lorenzo and I have only just met, I don't even know his family yet. And another thing, you being happy about it and supporting me in this possible relationship isn't going to make me forget what you've done, is it?".
"I'm not thinking out loud, I'm just using logic. You and Lorenzo are young people of the same level and it's clear that everything has to work out. In terms of character, I know he's a 10-0 match for that asshole Matthew Sparks," says my father.
"Well, I'm going to let everything happen in its own time. I'm not going to rush anything, least of all you, okay?" he nods, "Promise me you won't do anything else to get in the way of my love life?".
"I promise, Angel, I promise. But know that everything I do is only because I want you to be well," my father says, getting up from the armchair and picking up his cup of coffee, "Good night, darling."
"Good night, Dad," I say as I see him leave the room.
I get up too and go upstairs to find Bryan at the top of the stairs. He was listening to my conversation with my father. If I'd known that, I would have said even more about Lorenzo.
"You should be asleep too, shouldn't you?" I ask, holding my bag.
"Just because I wake up early doesn't mean I have to go to bed early too," he replies haughtily.
"Well, at least I think it makes more sense that way."
"If it was going to make sense, you should have stayed at home studying and not fooling around with a guy you've just met," he says.
"Is all this jealousy or anger that I've met someone better than you or that scumbag Matthew? If you and my dad hadn't bothered me earlier today, I wouldn't have met Lorenzo."
"Do you think you'll last with him? If you do, you're wrong. You're a scoundrel, Angeline, you don't fool me at all. It won't be long before you're sitting on my cock again."
"That's what you want, but it doesn't mean that's what I'm going to do. You played dirty today, Bryan, talking about when Matthew came here. I wasn't in the mood for a visit and I only welcomed him out of politeness. It doesn't matter how much you try to make me look bad to my father, because in the end, he'll always end up on good terms with me. And from the moment he opens his eyes and sees that you only want to hurt me with all this, he'll start avoiding you."
"If he hasn't realized it by now, when will he? Do you really think he'll listen to you? You're always losing credit with him, mainly because of Sparks."
"I want Sparks to go to hell, Bryan! I don't have any feelings for him, but you feel extremely insecure about it, that's why you made my father change your class. But now you have nowhere to go, because Lorenzo is my father's little darling," I laugh, "Anything you do will be in vain."
"I'm not going to do anything to get in the way, I'm going to do worse. I'm going to let you realize that you can't do without me, no matter who you're with. Let's see how long you can hold on," he says, his face close to mine.
"I wasn't born attached to you, Bryan. Just know that you don't make any difference to my life."
"That's what you're saying.
I leave him alone and go to my room. I can't let my desire for Bryan get in the way again. I have to contain myself and I will. He's nothing but an abusive guy who loves to pick on me. Bryan won't win.
