Chapter 33

ANGEL SINCLAIR.

I even tried to get into my room, but I couldn't. Bryan comes in at lightning speed and grabs my arm. The anger in his gaze can be conveyed quite easily, as it's very visible.

"You fucking bitch!", are his first words, before pinning me to the wall and putting all his weight on me.

"Get off me now," I say, trying to push him off, but I can't.

"You always say that I don't care about the consequences of my actions, but you're the one who doesn't know how to deal with the consequences of the shit you do. Did you want me to be happy that you got a flat tire on my car? Did you want me to come to you for a hug after what you did? What reaction did you expect, Angeline? Tell me, because now I'm really curious to know."

"So you mean that now you can do anything, but I can't? You can fill my food with pepper to make me end up in hospital, you can practically spit weed in my face and you can also provoke my father with the subject of my ex-boyfriend? If you've created a scenario in your head where you're allowed to do anything, you can deconstruct that idea, because it's not going to work. If you fuck up, I'll do worse, because I don't lie down for you and I'm not afraid of what you might do."

"I want to see how long you can keep this idea up. I'm going to make you ask me to leave the game," he says.

"Well, you can wait lying down, because even standing up will tire you out. Don't you realize you're being ridiculous? You started this nonsense because I went out with a guy, a guy I've known a lot longer than you, and of course, a guy who isn't an asshole," I say, spitting out the words without caring what Bryan thinks.

"He's probably just another guy who wants to fuck you, isn't he? Because it seems that's all you're good for," he says, letting out an evil smile.

I try to push Bryan away again, but I can't. This subject makes me uncomfortable, because I feel there's an ounce of truth in it. Maybe that's just how Bryan himself sees me: as a commodity.

"Not every man is like you or Matthew," I say.

"Don't compare me to that asshole," Bryan says interjectedly.

"Why? You're proving to be far worse than him."

"Don't say that, you know I'm not like him".

"True, you're much worse. At least he tries to make amends, but you do everything on impulse and still think it's right. You still think you deserve to be tolerated and that I should keep quiet and watch you paint and embroider with me. If you think that's how it's going to be, you're very much mistaken."

"Think what you like, I can't change your mind. I've just missed a party because of you. Either you give me the key to your car, or I'll have to puncture the tires of your car too," he says.

"No!" I reply quickly, "Neither. I'm not going to give you the keys to my car and you're not going to puncture my car's tires. You know why?", Bryan arches his eyebrow, "Because Cedric, your new little friend, is crazy about me", I laugh, watching Bryan's facial expression change, "He probably only approached you to try something with me. And if you puncture the tires on my car, do you know what will happen? I'll make a point of kissing Cedric in front of you for the whole school to see. What do you think? That would be wonderful! I'm sure lots of people would like that too."

"Have I mentioned that you're a disgusting bitch today?" he asks, finally letting go of me, "Try testing my patience with these ideas of kissing another guy in front of me so you can see what I'm capable of."

"Calm down, little brother. You just can't let that jealousy show. How are you going to explain to anyone that your eyes are red with anger at the thought of seeing me in other arms? You're trying to play games with me, but you've forgotten the most important detail: I can see you with someone else, you can't. Do you understand our difference? Do you understand our difference? 1-1, it's tied now."

"It won't be tied for long," he says firmly.

"Of course, because tomorrow I'm going to score another point again," I smile debauchedly, "Now get some sleep and forget about this fucking party with Cedric. What were you going to bring him? Drugs?" I ask, now serious, already knowing the answer.

After Bryan has kept quiet, I reach into his pocket and pull out a small transparent packet. I nod and hold it in my hand. Of course, if Cedric is involved, drugs are involved.

"Give it back, Angel!" he says, "What have you got to do with my life? I hang out with Cedric if I want to, I use him if I want to. You have nothing to do with it, so you don't think you have the right to boss me around, starting with the fact that you're nobody".

"No, I'm not giving it back to you. I'm going to throw it. And you should know that I won't tolerate this kind of thing, at least not under our roof, understand?".

I turn my back on him and go into my room, closing the door and window straight away. I open the little packet of MD and flush it down the toilet. I wish Bryan would just smoke weed. I need to get him away from Cedric, because I can already imagine what a mess it will be if the two of them stay together. I can't let anything bad happen. I can't let Bryan become dependent on it for fun. If it's up to me, he won't even carry it in his pocket anymore.
