Chapter 175 Ending It All

Chapter 175 Ending It All
Lex's POV

There was nothing he could say in his own defence. I did not need a soothsayer to tell me that my father did not give up anything for this empire; everything he has done his entire life was collect, and he never looked back whenever he was taking. How dare he stand before me and mention a word about giving up something when he has absolutely no idea about what giving up something feels like. He hated my mother so much he never even knew what it felt like to lose someone, even after she died.

"I dare you to mention it, Father. I dare you to mention that very one thing that you have given up to save this empire of yours, and maybe, just maybe, I would consider following your instruction and doing something sacrificial, just like you. Tell me one big sacrifice you have ever made for anyone or anything at all to keep this. Have you ever lost something so dear to you that you wish you could die alongside it? Have you ever been in so much pain that you feel like you should drown and never wake up from that deep sleep?" I asked him, and this time I was staring at him, and I was waiting for what his reaction was going to be because I dared him to react in a way that wasn't appropriate; I was going to let hell unleash on him right there and then.

"I have already warned you, Lex; do not say I never warned you when I told you to drop all of these claims you are having and let us move on with our plans as a family, but if you insist that you want to bring this girl into it, then I have no other choice than to follow what you want. I am going to touch her so much that she's going to resent every memory of you that she has; she's going to wish every day of her life that she never met you even for a second in her entire existence."

As he said these words, I couldn't help but realise at that instance that it was not even a person I was staring at, not even a wolf, not even a person that is supposed to be considered worthy to live, but a beast who had no compassion at all, with hatred and wickedness filled in his heart that he couldn't even think for a second to do anything good.

"Have I ever told you how much I hate you, Father? I just realised that I might never have said anything about that, but I hate you so much, and right now I hate you even more. I see every reason why I should resent you, and I should never want to be part of anything that you are part of. I can't believe that I never saw you for who you truly are all these years and I was able to keep up with such a monster constantly putting heat on me?" I asked, stuttering, and at this point I was no longer waiting for him to say a word because I did not care one bit about anything he was going to say to me anymore; I just wanted to give myself the moment to resent myself and my entire life, which was all a waste seeing that I had nothing, not even as little as a family.

"And what exactly is that supposed to mean, Lex? What do you mean by 'you did not want to be a part of something that I am a part of'? Are you even listening to me right now? I am asking you to stop this craziness of yours and move beyond this list and infatuation you have towards this girl; else she's going to pay with her life, and you do not get a chance to quit. You are still going to be a part of this empire, and you will continue the legacy of this empire after I am gone. If I have to use a rod of fire to imprint that on your skin, I will do that."

"You can't force me, Father. You can't force me to remain a part of this family if I do not want to be anymore. Now I get to have my rights as a person, and you cannot force me to be under your control and influence when I want out."

"This talk is over, Lex. I do not want to talk to you about this anymore. I am giving you the call; it's now yours to make. It's either you consider the life and safety of this girl and step away from this or she's going to drown, and you know the most interesting part of it is that you are still not going to escape me; you're just going to have one more loss on your list."

"What did you just say?" I asked them. At this point I was moving at a slow pace closer to him. Even though it wasn't something I wanted to do, I just couldn't hold myself back from moving closer to him now, as I wanted to hear every word of what he had just said to me and see his face as he said it.

"Oh yes, you heard me right, Lex. You heard every word of what I said. I was very clear with my words, and unless you want to add one more loss to your list, you are going to consider saving this girl's life by abstaining from this craziness..." I didn't let him complete the statement as I landed a punch to his cheek, a punch that sent him flying across the room as he landed heavily beside the dining table.

"Did you just raise your hand on me, Lex?" He asked me as he managed to get back on his feet and maintain his balance just then, giving me the reaction that I expected from him as he suddenly began to pull off his jacket in rage. I didn't hesitate either as I began to pull off my coat too.
