Chapter 178 Past Mistake

Chapter 178 Past Mistake
SEBASTIAN

What the heck is going on here? How on earth had Victoria managed to enter without me getting notified?

I pulled out my phone quickly. Before I could even dial a number, the phone was shot out of my hand. Everything in me froze.

“Sebastian!” Alma screamed as she rushed toward me, instantly checking if I was hurt. Her entire body trembled violently.

I froze as I looked up. The dark guy standing behind Victoria had fired the shot. They came with a fucking gun?

The entire hall descended into chaos as everyone tried to rush toward the exits. But before they could reach the doors, it slammed shut with a heavy thud.

Leaving everyone gasping in terror.

“No one is allowed to leave here,” Victoria announced coldly. “Everyone will stay and witness what is going to happen.”

The hall froze. People clung desperately to one another.

I watched her gesture for a gun. It was immediately handed to her.

My chest raced. I instantly pulled Alma behind me. Her hands tightened around my arm, her breath coming fast and shallow.

“Calm down, Alma. I won’t let anything happen to you, okay?” I said.

She nodded quickly, still holding onto me tightly. “Sebastian, what should we do?” Her voice trembled.

My eyes swept across the crowd, searching for Alma’s father and the others. I spotted Elijah guiding them all behind him. I shifted my gaze to Nick. He gave me a subtle gesture—he had already made a call.

A sweep of relief washed through me. I exhaled softly.

Victoria swirled the gun in her hand, chewing gum casually. She looked completely different with her blue-dyed hair and all black dress.

“Sebastian. Sebastian. Sebastian,” she repeated. Her voice sounded more like a deadly warning than just a name.

"Sebastian You are indeed cruel,” Victoria yelled, tears slipping down her cheeks. “First, you chatted me up before you came back. Second, you kept complimenting me and checking up on me. You made me fall for you to the extent that I proposed marriage, and you told me I misunderstood your actions—that it was just kindness. That wasn’t kindness! You were seducing me!”

My fist tightened. What a cunning woman. Sure, I had wanted to get close to the Flores family and needed a reason, but I had been smart about it so it wouldn't be complicated, but it seems I have picked the worst woman for that.

“We had an agreement, Victoria,” I snapped. “You promised if you didn’t meet my taste in a wife, I could move on. Why the fuck are you going back on your words?”

Her eyes widened before an ugly laugh tore from her mouth.

“Yes, I said that. But you didn’t even let me show you how perfect I was. You never touched me, never spent real time with me. How would you know I don’t meet your taste?” She spread her arms wide in accusation.

I took a deep breath and glanced at Nick. He was typing furiously on his phone. The officers are taking a hell of a long time.

I just had to keep this conversation going, delay her as much as possible, and prevent any loss of life here.

“I just regretted ever meeting someone like you,” I yelled. “You couldn’t keep your word, and now you’re fucking making a scene!”

“You don’t get it, Sebastian. I wouldn’t stop you if it were another woman. But her?” She snapped, pointing the gun directly toward us.

Alma’s hand tightened around me.
“Sebastian,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

My heart skipped. I shut my eyes, trying to fucking think. Because of any wrong move right now, this lunatic would really shoot, goddamn it—she had gone completely mad.

“What exactly do you want, Victoria?” I asked, trying to keep the damn conversation going and buy time for the police—even if it meant playing along with a wedding scene with her. “You still want a title?”

She stared at me for a moment before a choking, ugly laugh burst out of her. She turned to her men, and they started laughing too.

My brow furrowed in confusion and disgust, but my eyes kept shifting toward Elijah and Nick. Their expressions made it clear they were making their own moves.

“Look at someone I once fell for,” Victoria sneered, turning to the men. “I really don’t know he was this stupid.”

The men erupted in another round of laughter.

She turned to face me and clicked her tongue as she shook her head.

“You’re really funny, Sebastian. A title? No, I don’t want a title. I’m perfectly okay having their cocks in my cunt. You won’t believe it—last night I got fucked by five men.” She said excitedly, and the men nodded in shameless agreement.

And she was fucking proud of it. Why the hell should I care how she lived her life?

"I never loved you, Sebastian. I just fell for your status, your looks, and the way you treated me before you returned to the city. I would have kept my word if it were another woman. But Alma? No! She destroyed the Flores family and my life!” she yelled.

My brow furrowed deeper in disgust.

"Alma didn’t ruin the Flores family. Luis and you did it." Lady Flores’s voice cut in sharply before I could respond.

Victoria shut her eyes in anger, then slowly opened them again and swallowed hard.

“I’m not here to answer anyone. I really don’t know why I’m even engaging in conversation with you all,” she said, taking a slow step forward as she made her way toward the stage.
I took a careful step backward, my hand still guiding Alma to stay behind me.

“Sebastian, let’s not result in any unnecessary bloodshed,” Victoria continued. “I just want one thing—for Alma to take this.”

She pulled out a small bottle of some dark substance from her bag and gestured with it forward.
Alma instantly gasped, holding me tight.

My chest tightened.

“And what the heck is that?” I asked, not fucking hiding my disgust.

She shrugged. “Abortion substance… maybe. Or poison,” she said flatly.

The entire hall started murmuring, but the men instantly click their guns, quieting everyone.

“You have fucking lost it, Victoria,” I snapped.

She nodded softly, almost sadly. “Then I’ll do it manually, by getting rid of her and that damn baby.”

She clicked the gun.

I instantly spread my arms, completely shielding Alma.

“Then you both can die instead," she said coldly.

“Drop your gun, everyone!” the police shouted as they burst through the doors.

Victoria instantly turned to face them. I seized the opportunity and grabbed the gun from her hand in one swift motion.
Her entire body froze.
