Chapter Eighty-Six
******GIBSON’s POV*******
“Where were you all this time?” I demanded, my voice quaking with frustration as I locked my gaze onto Wilson’s eyes, searching for the elusive answers that felt just unreachable. The air between us crackled with tension, a charged mix of anger and confusion swirling like a storm waiting to break. “Gibson, I know you’re angry, but could you please…” he began, his tone softening in an attempt to ease the severity of the moment, yet I could sense the wavering hesitation that betrayed his uncertainty?
“Could I do what?” I snapped, my voice slicing through the air like the shard of a broken mirror. My heart thudded violently in my chest, a war drum echoing the simmering rage that threatened to engulf me whole. “My wife could have been killed if I hadn't gotten there in time!” I took a defiant step closer, the tension in my muscles coiling like a spring ready to unleash. Heat flooded my cheeks, urgency igniting every feature of my face, as my fierce resolve carved itself into the creases around my eyes and mouth. I demanded answers with a gaze that pierced through the silence, knowing full well that the truth I sought might forever remain elusive.
He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing as the weight of my words settled over him like a suffocating fog. “Who let them in? How did they get past security?” I hurled my questions into the still air, each one hanging there, unanswered, amplifying the palpable tension that crackled between us like static electricity before a storm.
The fury surging within me was like a churning tempest, each wave crashing violently against the shores of my composure. My heart raced as the stark awareness of Kyla’s peril gripped me, tightening like a vise around my chest. If I hadn’t arrived when I did, what horrors might have transpired? That haunting possibility gnawed at my insides, a relentless whisper urging me to spring into action before it was too late.
As I stood there, my mind was consumed by the shadowy figure of the masked man who had brought chaos to our doorstep. His magical prowess was undeniable; the way he conjured spells with a flick of his wrist and uttered incantations that danced through the air was nothing short of mesmerizing. Even the nobles, draped in their finery and accustomed to a life of privilege, looked on in bewilderment, their expressions a mixture of awe and fear.
A sense of trepidation washed over me as I contemplated the gravity of the threat he posed. I understood that this enigmatic adversary would not be easily defeated; he was cunning and resourceful, fully aware of the power he wielded. Yet, deep within me burned an unquenchable resolve. I was determined to confront him, to make him pay for his transgressions, and to see him beg for mercy for daring to lay hands on the one person I cherished above all else—my wife.
Despite the weakness that threatened to overwhelm me, I summoned every last ounce of strength and walked with a regal bearing, attempting to conceal the vulnerability that lingered beneath the surface. I couldn't bear the thought of Kyla worrying about me, not even for a fleeting instant. I needed to project an aura of confidence and strength, no matter how fragile I truly felt. Likewise, I had to be the rock that Kyla relied on, the steadfast protector who would stop at nothing to keep her safe.
Furthermore, I tiptoed into the room, where she lay gracefully ensconced beside the window, bathed in the gentle embrace of sunlight that filtered through the delicate, sheer curtains. The warm, golden glow enveloped her serene face, illuminating the tranquility that seemed to emanate from her very being. As I approached, I found myself captivated by the way she appeared to float in the depths of a peaceful dream, her features soft and untroubled.
With a reverent touch, I extended my large hands to delicately brush aside a few stray strands of hair that had danced across her forehead, feeling the silken softness of her tresses slip through my fingers like a whisper. Leaning closer, I pressed a tender kiss upon her forehead, hoping to convey the depth of my affection and the warmth that swelled in my heart, wishing for that simple gesture to awaken her to the love that surrounded her.
As I turned to leave the softly lit room, I instinctively draped a warm, plush duvet over her, ensuring she was snug and enveloped in its comforting embrace. Just as I began to step away, I felt a gentle tug on my arm, the delicate touch sending a ripple of warmth through me. She rolled over, her eyes barely open, glistening with a mix of sleep and softness. With a tender nudge, she silently urged me to stay, her unspoken plea hanging in the air, thick with intimacy. The moment lingered, rich with unexpressed emotions and an undeniable bond, making it nearly impossible for me to resist her quiet request.
My gaze was locked onto hers as I approached, drawn in by an irresistible force. She leaned in, her lips the embodiment of seduction, and whispered, “Stay with me.” Her voice, a perfect blend of firmness and softness, reverberated through me, sending a delightful shiver down my spine. The vulnerability within me started to dissolve, replaced by a growing intensity that sparked beneath the surface.
I quickly rushed her as she sent a smile that sent shivers down my body I couldn't resist any longer “Mmmmm” “Mmmm” I bit on her neck hungrily, and tastily She was delicious I was unable to resist any more of her.
I went beneath her undies as my hands remained clutched on her hardened nipples, “Mmmmm” a moan escaped her soft velvet lips and her clothes went flying in the air.
