Chapter 177 Melissa’s last moment

Chapter 177 Melissa’s last moment
Before Melissa went to the hospital, she went home to change. She arrived in the hospital covered from head to toes. She was wearing a pink hoodie with matching pants, dark sunglasses, and a pink purse.
She strolled in like it was a shopping mall instead of a health facility. Before she could go in further. She was stopped by the hospital security. They asked her to produce means of identification.
Melissa was stunned. She hadn't expected the hospital to have high security. Her palms started sweating. She started reconsidering her action. It was too late to go back, she could find another way to get rid of Kalyssa.
Melissa but her lip, contemplating. The guards raised an eyebrow at her. He wasn't suspicious becausergey where people who forgot their IDs.
“I-im sorry I--”
She stopped.
‘What was she doing? After going through all the trouble, how could she go back just like that?’
Melissa dug through her purse. Her mind was set and determined. She took out her ID and acted surprised.
“Oh good. I thought I left it at home.”
The guard scanned her card and allowed her in.

Once she was in, Melissa made an excuse at the receptionist's desk. Her heart sped up in excitement and evil.
She thought of how she would execute her intentions.
Strangle?
But if she strangled her, the marks would show and an investigation would begin.
“Unplug the machine?”

Melissa nodded. That was the safest. At most, it could be dismissed as the carelessness of the staff.
Melissa began to think of ways she could sneak into Kalyssa’s room without being seen. She had lied to the receptionist that she was Kalyssa’s sister but their relationship was strained. The nurse had taken pity on her and given her the ward room number.

It took a while to find the right hallway. Her hands shook when she was close enough to Kalyssa’s room. With her head down, she noticed a leather shoe. She raised her head to see who it was.
And then—

She saw him.

Andrew.

He stood near the hallway, his posture straight, his expression unreadable at first glance. But the moment his eyes landed on her recognition settled in.
His eyes didn't move from her figure. Melissa felt shivers down her spine. Her instincts kicked in before her mind could fully process it.

Something was wrong with the way he looked at her. The man didn't look well to begin with.
Andrew tilted his head a fraction, studying her.

Then—

He smiled.

Melissa’s heartbeat quickened.

He knew. She didn’t know how but he knew who she was.
Melissa panicked. She turned and walked away.
Andrew watched her for a second. Then he raised his finger and twisted it.

Melissa walked faster. Fear gripped her. She didn't know who he was but the way he looked at her didn't promise anything good.
The moment she got out and the sun hit her face, she sighed in relief.
She thought she was safe.

Then something cold pressed against her side. Before she could move, she heard a voice beside her.

“Don’t scream, or you’re dead before you finish the first sound.”

Melissa froze.

“Walk,” the voice instructed.

Her legs moved before she could think. Her heart pounded so loudly she could hear it in her ears. She looked around but no one seemed to notice what was happening.

A car door opened.

“Get in.”
She did and the door shut behind her.
Immediately she was in, Something hit the side of her head. Her vision blurred instantly. The last thing she saw was the vague outline of one of the men pulling his hand back.

Then….darkness.

The next time she woke, her head ached terribly. Her body was stiff. She squinted her eyes and looked around but she didn't know where she was.

Then she tried to move. Her wrists were bound tightly to the arms of a chair. Her legs and mouth were restrained too.
Panic settled in.

The faint smell of dust and metal lingered in the air. She tried to scream, but her muffled screams did nothing.
From the shadows, Andrew emerged. He stepped into the dim light, his expression calm, almost… detached.

Andrew stopped a few feet in front of her.

For a moment, he just looked at her. Then he put his hands behind him and took out a gun. Melissa’s eyes widened, and she tried to move away but there was nowhere to go.

“You know,” he said quietly, his voice calm in a way that made it worse, “I didn’t have any business with you.”

Melissa shook her head frantically, tears already forming in her eyes.

“Mmm,” he hummed lightly. “You didn’t harm me. You didn’t steal from me. You didn’t even cross my path properly.”

He tilted his head slightly.

“But you harmed her.”

Melissa’s breathing became erratic, her body trembling against the chair. She knew very well who “her” was. The tears fell now.

Andrew’s expression didn’t change.

“I thought about it, whether I should leave it alone. Whether it was worth the trouble.” he continued.

He lifted the gun slightly, examining it like he wasn’t even in the middle of ending someone’s life.

“But I want this to be the last good thing I do for her,” he said raising the gun.

Melissa shook her head violently, her muffled cries desperate now, her eyes pleading, begging. But Andrew didn’t hesitate.
He pulled the trigger. The gunshot echoed through the space.

The bullet struck the center of her forehead. Her body jerked once. Her head slumped to the side, her eyes frozen wide open, Blood slipped slowly from the wound, trailing down her face, staining everything it touched.

Andrew lowered the gun with a sigh.
This was the first time he went against his personal rule. But he would do it for her.

“Clean it up,” he said simply before turning. He walked away without looking back.
Outside, a car waited. Andrew stepped into the car without a word.

Paul followed closely behind.

At the airport, everything moved quickly.

Andrew stood near the boarding gate, his gaze distant, his thoughts unreadable.

Paul stood beside him. He tapped on his tablet. He still played the role of his assistant even though he had been dismissed.
Yes, Andrew had sold everything he had in this country. After he did, Paul resigned and insisted on following him.

Andrew glanced at him after a moment.

“You don’t have to come,” he said.

Paul frowned slightly. “We have talked about this already. Drop it.” With that, Paul shoved his tab into his bag and looked elsewhere. His brown hair blew against the wind, covering his eyes.

Andrew was taken aback by Paul's sharp tone. shrugged faintly. A smile tugged on his lips.
This was the real Paul.

Something flickered in his expression.

Side note from the author: There might be another novel about Andrew and Paul but your comments will determine if I will go on with it or not.
And yes. I'll make it juice. (wink)
