Chapter 98
Chapter 98
Lucy
She stepped out of the portal into the room she shared with Josh. He looked up at her from his place on the bed across the room.
“Lucy? What are you doing here?”
She glared at him. “I live here.”
“You’re supposed to be at your bachelorette party.”
She froze, staring at him. “You knew about that?”
He nodded. “I set it up.”
“Why?”
He laid back down with his arms behind his head. “Because. Lucy, I was hoping that he would listen to you without me being around.”
“You knew he was there?”
“Yes. I thought that you two could give into your deepest desires and you could use that to convince him to be with us.”
Her eyes widened. “Us? Be with us?”
“Yes, Lucy, us. You, me, and all of our kids. His and mine. A family.”
She walked over to the bed to sit next to him. He took her hand.
“You’re really serious about this?”
“Yes.”
“Doesn’t it hurt you when I touch him? Last time it almost killed you.”
“When he kissed you I didn’t feel anything.”
She wrung her hands together. “But what if it does? I don’t want to hurt you.”
He tipped her chin up. “I want you to do everything you can to get him to understand that he should be with us. If you have to seduce him to get him to listen, do it.”
She gripped his wrist with her fingers. “I won’t hurt you.”
“I’ll tell you what. Leave our link open and if it hurts, I’ll tell you.”
She studied his face. “I don’t know, Josh.”
He pulled her up to straddle him. “Lucy, listen to me. I know that you feel guilty for loving him and that you want to stay loyal to me because I’m your mate, but so is he. You need him as much as you need me. He needs you as much as I need you. We both acted foolishly where you are concerned. Help me make this right for all of us. Please, baby.” He cupped her face before pulling her down for a kiss. “Please, try.”
Her nails lightly dragged down his chest as Hesha grew hopeful. “You’ll still love me if I sleep with him?” she asked quietly.
He rolled her over to gently grind against her core. “Yes, baby.” He kissed her softly. “Now, go get your other mate.” He rolled off of her and pushed her off the bed. “Go on, Lucy.”
She pecked his lips again before opening a portal and hurrying through it. She took a deep breath as she walked past the gang to stand behind Amerald.
“We need to talk, Amer.”
“Nope. Go away, Princess.”
“Tell me you don’t want me and I’ll go away.”
“Whatever.”
She touched his shoulder and he instantly stiffened. “You can't, can you?”
“I don’t want you. Now, go away.”
“Liar. Saber-”
“He doesn’t want you either,” he said quickly.
“Let him tell me that.”
“No. Just go home, Princess.”
“Amerald, I-”
He shrugged her hand off and got up to face her. “Do you have to continue torturing us, Lucy? Saber is already dying because you’re gone. What else do you want from me? From us? I have already given you everything. You’re not going to be happy until Saber and I are both dead, are you?”
“Come be with me, Amerald. Love me and don’t leave.”
He sat back in his chair with his back to her. “It would never work. Just leave us alone so we can get over you.”
“Amerald-”
“No, Lucy. Just leave.”
“I want to talk to Saber.”
“No.”
“I wasn’t asking.”
She bared her teeth at him behind his back before letting her aura out, pushing the command for Saber to come forward out. He slowly turned around and she smiled at him.
“Saber?”
He lifted a shaky hand to her face. “Lucy…”
He pulled her against his body as his lips instantly captured hers in a passionate dance of two people desperately in love. Her arms wrapped around his neck as she leaned against him. When he pulled back, she looked up at him.
“He’s lying. We want you more than anything.”
She touched his cheek while her eyes softened. “Then be with me.”
“I keep telling him to be. He won’t listen.”
“Then make him.”
“I’m trying.”
She ran her fingers through his hair. “I love you, Saber, both of you. I need you. I want you. Come be a full-time father to our children and a full-time mate to me. Let’s try.”
“We love you, too. We have missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you guys, too.”
He closed his eyes. “Can you keep him asleep for the night? I just need to hold you for a while.”
She ran her fingers through his hair, nodding. “Let’s get out of here. Let me remind you what we had, what we can have again.”
He nodded and picked her up. She reached for Josh’s link, warmth immediately filled it.
‘How are you feeling?’
‘’Good. Enjoy your night. I love you.’
‘I love you, too, Josh.’
She buried her face in Amerald’s chest causing Saber to purr. He carried her across the street to the hotel and she ran her fingers up and down his arm as he got them a room. Once inside the elevator, he lifted her up to kiss her deeply.
“Does Josh know we’re together?” he asked and she could see the pain in his eyes.
“Yes. He told me to enjoy our night. He wants you to come home with me.”
“Lucy, Amerald doesn’t trust him.”
“And you? Do you trust him?”
“Trust isn’t exactly relevant to what I feel about him.”
“How do you feel about him?”
“I want to end him for having you. I want to challenge him for you. I want to crush his skull under my paws. I want to keep you tied up in my closet so I can be with you anytime I want to be.”
She stroked the back of his neck. “How about you just come be with us and nobody has to die?”
He chuckled a little. “Let’s not think about that tonight. Let’s just be together,” he murmured.
He slowed outside of a door, sniffing before looking down at her. She sniffed, too, and smiled.
“I’m happy for them.”
“When did that happen?” he asked as he continued down the hallway.
“Just now. Jackie and I spoke this morning.”
He lifted her higher again for another kiss. “I always knew you were perfect. Come on. I want to hold you.”
She smiled up at him. “I love you.”
“I love you, too, Lucy."
