Chapter Twenty-Four-Insane.

Chapter Twenty-Four-Insane.
ADONIS’S POINT OF VIEW
While waiting for my food, I try to move my legs, hoping the rope will loosen, but the knots hold tight. As for my hands, they’re cuffed behind my back, so I don’t bother trying.
She is very skilled at kidnapping. I don’t know about the killing; the fact that she is shaking suggests she lacks the courage, or that’s the only explanation I could come up with.
I didn’t lie when I said I wouldn’t go without seeing her face. But I do want to leave from here.
She did say that she CAN’T kill me. Maybe it’s not lack of courage; maybe someone is holding her back. Maybe she waits for the green light. But she wanted to shoot me twice. So that would mean that she has the green light!
Fucking shit, women are complicated.
She is complicated.
My head hurts.
I wonder if my family has figured out that I’m missing. I don’t even know how long I’ve been here. How long have I been out? Oh, God, my mom must be devastated, along with my brothers, my dad, Maria… and my rainbow.
God, I wish I could put a name to that beautiful face of hers. I wish I could kiss her one last time.
I wonder what she’s doing now. Was she at the club? Maybe she was there. I could see myself buying her flowers and gifts, even introducing her to my parents.
I was lost in my thoughts, dreaming about her, when I heard the door open again, and the smell of chicken wings hit me as my damnation’s footsteps grew closer.
Damn, and I was so happy thinking about my rainbow…
“Dinner is ready,” she says in a sarcastic, cheerful voice as if she’s my wife and she’s thrilled to feed me, and I roll my eyes.
I’m not really hungry, but I need to stall for a while because I refuse to give up. If I’m going to die, I want to do so peacefully, knowing I did my best to escape.
And maybe my family is looking for me.
But they would never think about looking for a woman. Well, this is what happens when you underestimate a woman.
"It smells great. Now, let’s see how it tastes."
“Open your mouth.” she commands, and I open. I chew the fries and wait.
“So, did you change your mind?” she asks, leaving me confused.
“About?”
“You said that if the food is bad, you’ll choose the bullet.” I can’t help but laugh again, and I know she’s trying not to laugh too.
"Well, I haven’t tasted the chicken wings yet, so I can’t give you an answer."
“I’ll feed you with my hands. Don’t worry, I’m washed and tested.” Why the fuck does she give me food? And why the fuck is she so nice?
Okay… most of the time.
But we talk, laugh... what’s the deal with this woman?
“You are something else. You know that?”
“What do you mean?” She asks curiously.
“A half hour ago, you had your gun pointed at my head, ready to shoot. And now you reassure me that it’s okay for you to feed me with your hand, ’cause you’re tested and washed.”
“Maybe I’m crazy.” She states simply, and I roll my eyes. Too bad that she can’t see me.
“Have you ever heard a crazy person admit that he or she is crazy? Don’t think so," I reply, and I hear her sigh. Damn, I wish I could see her.
“For everything, it’s a first. Now it’s dinner time. But first, let me give you some friendly advice. Don’t bite, because I’ll shoot. Okay, sweety?” She says the last part in a sweet voice, and I smirk.
“I’ll bite only if you ask me to. I promise.” Why the fuck did I say that? I must be going crazy.
“Oh, my God... you are such a perv." To be honest, right now, I agree with her. What the fuck is wrong with me?
And still... I don’t know why, but I like teasing her. So I answer again.
“Only if you want me to.” I hear her chuckle, and I grin like an idiot. Something is really wrong with me if I enjoy hearing her laugh.
Remember, stupid! She wants to kill you!!
I mentally facepalm myself and make a note to suppress the craziness.
She gives me a piece of chicken, and when I bite, my lips touch her fingertips, and she flinches. They feel soft— I better not get a hard-on because of my kidnapper/killer.
But even if I got hard, it wouldn’t be because of her, I’m sure. I mean, my rainbow is running wild and free in my mind, and the complicated assassin has a very intoxicating perfume, and her voice might sound-- God, no!
But I’m too late; my blood has already gone south. I just hope she won’t notice that my pants are getting tighter. I need to somehow push the fucking blood back up to my bigger head!
“So, you want me to be?”As soon as I finish my stupid sentence, which my mind begged me not to formulate, but my mouth delivered anyway, she stuffs a little more food in my mouth to shut me up.
Better. You talk too much!” I can’t help but laugh with my mouth closed, trying not to spit out the food. But I have to agree with her. It’s safer to keep my mouth full of food; otherwise, I might blurt out stupid shit.
“So, about your confession. Are you ready? Because honestly, with the way you talk, I think we’ll be here for a while. Most likely more sins than we both can count.” Her voice is cheerful; she sounds like she’s enjoying my company.
This is some fucked up shit.
“You got me there. And, yes. I’m ready.” I hope I’ll find something about her, too. She’s intriguing. And maybe... just maybe, I can talk my way out of here.
But honestly, I don’t mind her company.
As long as she doesn’t kill me.
We could be friends.
