Chapter 16 Arlo, Be My Boyfriend!

Without further thought, Arlo followed the direction of the cry for help, kicking open another door inside the private room.

Upon opening the door, he saw a man in a suit trying to forcefully kiss Nora against the wall. Nora was dodging left and right, shouting for help.

Arlo was furious; he quickly approached, grabbed the man's neatly combed hair, and yanked it back forcefully.

The man screamed in pain and tried to break free from Arlo's grip, but since Arlo had already started, how could he possibly break free?

Gripping the man's hair, Arlo kicked him in the lower back and scolded, "You dare touch Ms. Marsh, looking for trouble?"

As he was about to give this guy a good beating, Nora quickly stopped him, "Arlo, please don't!"

Arlo's fist stopped halfway, looking puzzledly at Nora without speaking.

He couldn't understand why Nora wouldn't let him hit the guy who tried to forcefully kiss her.

Seeing his confusion, Nora didn't rush to explain but shook her head slightly, indicating for Arlo to let go.

Unable to do anything else, Arlo reluctantly released his grip. The man struggled to get up from the ground, glaring angrily at Arlo, his eyes full of undisguised hostility. "Nori, you better explain who he is!"

"Alex, don't call me Nori, our relationship isn't that close." Nora's eyes turned cold as she glanced at him, "He's someone I recognize as my little brother, do you have a problem with that?"

"Someone you recognize as your little brother? When did this happen? Why wasn't I informed?" Alex Fox clearly didn't believe Nora's words, staring at Arlo with undisguised hostility.

Nora, furious, sneered, "Do I, Nora, need to report to you before doing anything? You seem to think too highly of yourself, don't you?"

Pausing for a moment, without waiting for Alex to speak, she continued, "I'll overlook what happened today as you drank too much, but our relationship ends here. I hope you'll go back and talk to your parents about it. And please, don't come bothering me anymore."

Alex, with a dark expression, glanced between them, his expression changing. After a moment, he snorted icily and pushed Arlo aside, heading towards the door.

"Bang!"

The door was forcefully slammed shut, and immediately, Alex's angry curses could be heard through the room's door: "Damn it! Do you think I'm an idiot? He's not your brother, he's just a gigolo! Despicable!"

Hearing Alex insulting Nora, Arlo couldn't bear it. He immediately wanted to rush out and teach this guy a lesson.

But Nora stopped him, her voice strained: "Arlo, don't be impulsive."

"But Ms. Marsh, he insulted you..." Arlo couldn't understand. But seeing the tears constantly rolling in Nora's eyes, he suddenly gave up.

Passing a few tissues to Nora, Arlo said, "Ms. Marsh, if you want to cry, just let it out!"

The next moment, Nora suddenly hugged Arlo, burying her head in his shoulder and crying softly.

The faint and elegant fragrance kept wafting into Arlo's nose, causing his body to stiffen in place.

After a while, he regained his senses, hesitantly lifting and then dropping his hands. After a moment of hesitation, he tentatively began patting Nora's back gently.

Feeling Nora's tears wetting his shoulder, Arlo felt distressed. He couldn't understand why Nora, being so wealthy, wouldn't let him take action when he was being bullied.

As the crying gradually subsided, Nora straightened up, wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes with a tissue, feeling somewhat embarrassed as she said, "Sorry for making you witness this."

Seeing Nora's pitiful appearance with tearful eyes, Arlo felt his anger towards Alex becoming increasingly suppressed. "Ms. Marsh, let me go beat him up for you!"

"Forget it." Nora grabbed Arlo's hand, gently shaking her head. "After this incident, I just want to draw a clear line with him, so he won't come bothering me again."

Hearing her words, Arlo finally couldn't contain his curiosity and asked, "Ms. Marsh, who is this Alex?"

"He's just a worthless scumbag, but the problem is his father is the president of the Fleross Chamber of Commerce, and his mother is a cadre in the Industrial and Commercial Bureau." Nora sighed and looked at Arlo. "Now you understand why I didn't let you beat him up, right?"

Arlo was stunned. He hadn't expected Alex's family background to be so prominent.

But thinking about the greedy look in that guy's eyes when he looked at Nora, he felt extremely uncomfortable.

After a moment's thought, he gritted his teeth and said, "So what? I can discreetly get rid of him!"

"Don't talk nonsense!" Nora was startled. She looked at Arlo and felt somewhat unfamiliar. After two seconds of silence, she said, "If something happens to him, the whole Fleross will be in chaos. It's not worth getting yourself involved for a scumbag."

Reluctantly, Arlo nodded. "Alright, I'll listen to you, Ms. Marsh."

Nora seemed afraid that Arlo couldn't swallow this bitterness, so she softly reminded him, "Arlo, you're not yet twenty, and you have a long road ahead. Don't make decisions based on temporary anger that you'll regret for the rest of your life, okay?"

Hearing Nora's concern, Arlo scratched his head and smiled, "I understand, Ms. Marsh. I won't do anything foolish, so don't worry!"

After staring at Arlo for a while and making sure he wasn't lying, Nora finally relaxed.

At this moment, she noticed that their hands had been holding each other for quite some time. Blushing, Nora felt flustered and let go of his hand, saying, "Let's sit down and have a drink."

There was still the lingering delicate touch in his palm, and Arlo instinctively brought his hand to his nose to smell it.

This somewhat flirtatious action made Nora's cheeks even redder. She gave Arlo a glance and said teasingly, "What are you daydreaming about? Do you want me to pour the wine for you?"

Seeing that Nora seemed not to have noticed his action, Arlo breathed a sigh of relief. Feeling guilty, he eagerly poured wine for Nora.

The wine was good. Even Arlo, who didn't know much about wine, could tell that the wine on the table was quite valuable. A bottle probably cost as much as his monthly salary.

Tilting his head back, he emptied the red wine in his glass in one gulp. Nora tapped the table, indicating for Arlo to continue pouring her wine.

After drinking three glasses in a row, Nora's fair cheeks were flushed with blush like rouge.

This time, she didn't continue drinking, but stared at Arlo without blinking.

Feeling uneasy under her gaze, Arlo touched his cheek and asked, "Ms. Marsh, is there something on my face?"

Nora shook her head, picked up her glass, and emptied it again.

A drop of wine escaped from the corner of her mouth, sliding down her fair neck and disappearing into the deep cleavage in her chest.

Arlo suddenly felt a bit parched. He drank a big gulp of wine, but it didn't help.

Just as he was about to finish the wine in his glass, Nora spoke up.

"Arlo, be my boyfriend!"
