Chapter 168
Chapter 168
Helen
It’s been a few weeks after the incident with my mother, my father is out of hospital 2 days later, I insisted he has a bodyguard with him at all times. That was a huge fight, according to him the only person that was a threat to him was my mother and she’s in jail now, so he didn’t need a bodyguard. It took intervention from Johnny to get him to have someone with him full time. My father always did have someone when he was the CEO so it’s not a new thing like it was for me, my sister and I always had bodyguards but they didn’t follow us everywhere just places my dad thought would be dangerous. Well needless to say he listened to Johnny and now he has a bodyguard everywhere he goes which at this stage is running in the morning, going home and going to court because yes, the trial has started and it didn’t look very good for my mom or Antoinette. After my father withheld all my mother’s money, she couldn’t afford a good attorney so my mom and sister had pro bono attorneys and let’s just say they didn’t even try hard to defend my mom or my sister. I actually felt bad for them, until I remember what they did to me then I didn’t feel bad for them anymore. The trial took a lot out of me, some days it was only my father and I in court because Johnny needed to be at the company, he couldn’t leave the company unattended for so long especially not after everything that happened although everything was moving smoothly now and the stock prices has raised again which was good. But for me that really wanted to get pregnant the stress of the trial wasn’t helping. Johnny and I tried a lot, let’s just say Johnny can’t complain but when I got my period this morning it hit me how much this whole ordeal was taking from me.
Today I was more emotional than any other day in court and my father saw it, he thought it was because I had to relive everything but it was more the fact that it ever had to happen and that I can’t get over the stress of it all. I saw my dad send a message when I took the third tissue out of my bag but I didn’t notice who he send it to. When we break for lunch, my dad took my hand and walked me out to a food truck. “Angel what’s wrong with you today? You are more emotional than other days.” “It’s nothing dad don’t worry about it.” “You’re my daughter off course I’m going to worry about it.” “I’ll be fine I promise.” He got me a hot dog and a coffee and we went to sit at a table nearby. “Helen you can talk to me I might not always be able to help but talk to me. Was it something Johnny did?” That made me cry even more which gave my dad the wrong idea. “I’ll kill him. What did he do?” “No dad Johnny didn’t do anything his sweet and love me more than words can say, it’s more me I’m upset with today.” He grab my hand over the table. “Why Helen?” “It’s just with all the stress I’m struggling to get pregnant.” My dad didn’t know what to say there for a minute he just looked at me. I could see him channeling his inner dad “I didn’t know you were that serious about starting a family.” “I really am dad.” “Honey the stress will pass you are still young there is more than enough time to have a family don’t put so much stress on yourself.” And that is when I felt him behind me, Johnny bend down and kissed me in the neck before he greeted my dad. “You messaged him?” I asked my dad. “I did but when you started crying, I thought I made a mistake in letting him know to come.” “No, you didn’t make a mistake.” “Well, I’m going to go in so long and give you two time to talk.” My dad got up and Johnny took his seat “Babe what’s wrong? Your dad said you couldn’t stop crying in court. Is today that bad?”
I didn’t tell him I got my period yet so when I do, he will understand. “No, it’s not that. I got my period today.” Then I started crying again. Johnny came to me help me from the chair and walked with me to a quieter place. “Oh babe.” He said holding me in his arms. “We’ve only be trying for a few weeks give it time, the trial is still stressful to your body I mean you still get panic attacks, just be kinder to yourself, it will happen.” He turned me to look at him; he wiped the tears from my face and smiled at me while saying “I mean with my swimmers I’m sure it will happen soon.” I slapped in on the arm. “Johnny.” But he made me laugh and that was what I needed. “Come let’s go back into court, I heard the defense is almost done so the trial won’t be for much longer, then you can come back to work and we can start to have a normal boring life.” “That sounds like heaven.” “What a boring life?” Johnny tried to tease me. “Yes, Johnny a boring life sounds like heaven.” “Okay then I promise you one, but let’s go inside and get this day over shall we. Then tonight when we get home, I’ll ask the chef to cook your favorite and I get you a bath ready with as many bubbles as humanly possible and you can just relax.” “That sounds like heaven.” “Then let’s think of that when we are in there okay?” “Okay Johnny, thank you for coming.” “I’ll always be here when you need me babe.” We walked into the court just before the Judge did which was good if there was one thing this judge hated was people disturbing his court. Johnny stayed with me for the whole day holding my hand as my mother was on the stand trying to proof her innocence.
