Chapter 66 (2)

“What?” Louis glanced bluntly.

“My dad's already dead. That were being her words.” Marquis lighted up the heavy environment in the car when over his words, both of the males just laughed warmly as later that Marquis smiled gently. “Her innocence has always been kind of like my weak point.”

“Wow. I never expected that. You were being a hero all of this time.” After the laugh, Louis's smile held his words. “What exact meaning that she told you about love?” He now talked casually further ahead when he doesn't really felt any dangerous vibes from Marquis up till now and after a heavy sigh that Marquis huffed when he gripped the steering wheel tight.

“For the first time, we both went on a date. We had a delightful time together in this small cafe. It was so cute and was being far from my place and there? I just went in the restroom to clean up the coffee that fell over me but when I came back? I saw her standing so close with Seth.” Marquis stopped talking and was hesitant to talk further.

“Did you did something to him?” Louis clenched his jaw when he was getting himself ready to touch this man's face from every angle as he was being aware with the common fact that Marquis always keeps the gun with himself and never thinks before shooting the person and Louis was having the same thought.

“I was about to.” Holding a little fear inside his mind, Marquis's eyes moved towards Louis with a gulp. “But I didn't!” He furiously said. “Instead, we had a fight. Ac--Actually, I started it.” With another gulp, Marquis was hesitant of touching the topic of beating Seth when he didn't had any idea that he was Louis's best friend. He took his bottom lip between his teeth when he timely glanced Louis.

“You beat him? You asshole!” Louis gritted his teeth along with a death glare.

“I'm sorry?” Marquis raised his brows when he pressed his lips afterwards and focused over the road but later that he slightly grinned. “You talked bad again.”

“Shut up!” Louis angrily growled and Marquis simply pouted when the silence took over again. “So....” This time, Louis started another conversation when he smiled. “You're pretty nice actually. But I'll be still mad that you beat my best friend.” He faked an annoying expression afterwards.

“Than? I'll allow him to beat the shit out of me too.” Marquis simply giggled when Marquis finally told him the truth. “He's so nice. He's the actual love of her.”

“How can you say that?”

“Louis, I am habitual of reading girls and I think you know that?” Marquis annoyingly raised an eyebrow.

“Yes, I know. A walking encyclopedia that carries a heavy amount of knowledge about everything related to girls.” Louis scoffed.

“Exactly. I saw her eyes after she kissed him and they sparkled like brightest stars in the whole wide sky and also the way they both were holding each other?” Marquis's words drizzled with affection. “I didn't think straight and started beating him up. I was controlled by just one feeling at that time and it was nothing else but jealousy. I didn't stop until she made me. What boiled my blood even more? Was that she was supporting him when she tried everything to save him and that hit me hard afterwards but somehow, I was being all calm after few days. It hinted me that she loved him more than me when she tried everything to protect him at any cost.” Marquis gasped. “With me? She was suffering, but with Seth? She would be happy. I decided later on, that I'll never ever look back at her as I decided to let her go. Let her go and live her life. I know it won't be remaining the way like it was being before but at least, she'll be having her love.” Over his last words, Marquis's orbs started brimming up when he turned his face to the other side while thinking about her as he was afraid that Louis would simply make fun of his tears but it was truly opposite when Louis was suddenly sad after he saw him rubbing his eyes and sniffing for few moments when the other man literally just smiled through his own pain and faced Louis. This was the mere moment when the police officer believed this man right here knowing the fact that he was really changed as she was the magic happened to him. “She told me that we think about the others while being in love, so I did the same and let her go. Allowing her to live with her own love.” His cracked up vocals captured Louis's attention, suddenly. “And also, I decided to give my everything to her.”

“WHAT???” Louis was shocked when his wide eyes were almost popping out as he inhaled deeply and later started coughing.

“Oh god!” Marquis panicked while timely glancing the road when at the same time his one hand was being on the wheel whereas another one got busy in searching a water bottle as he soon found it upon the dash board. “Here!”

Louis drank while controlling the cough and breathed hard when his expression were smooth as he patted Marquis's arm. “You are so full of surprises. I really didn't know that you were being this much dedicating and nice.”

“There's always a good side. Even of a bad thing. The world focused on my dark side while the other side was just being unbothered and blurred out to it.” Marquis simply responded with a warm smile.

“You really are nice.”

“Thanks, Louis.”

“So, do you only have this car as your property or everything?” Louis chuckled.

“Open that.” Marquis pointed towards his dashboard and Louis followed his words when he opened the dashboard and later found a little pile of files being tied up that was present inside it when he frowned towards those things.

“What are these?” Louis asked when he took out the pile, untied it and opened one file from it.

“These are my property papers.” Marquis told him. “I gave them her name. It's hers now.”

“Don't tell me. Ar-Are these really yours?!” Louis started losing his mind when with his wide eyes that he flipped every page which had the only name over those powerful, heavy yet extremely loaded property that Marquis collected himself, as now that it held only just one name. Yenail. When Louis never really expected this act from him as he turned while being extremely surprised yet spaced out. “Are you serious?”

“My everything is hers now.” Marquis widely smiled.

“And what made you think that she'll ever accept this gambling black money?” Louis asked and started tying up the files like they were being before.

More than half of the path was already covered while they were talking as while passing the time like that, which surely helped Louis knowing this guy yet also the things that he never really wondered of knowing about this criminal. The things that were new, rare and strange. The things that actually melted Louis's heart as the danger left him.

They now entered the destined area while being at the end of the highway and entered the city, where Marquis was driving to as he knew almost every way, whereas while being concentrated over the way further ahead, he still talked onwards. “That's why, I'm thinking of making it white. I thought maybe there could still be people out there who would be needing the money for their needs? Or maybe Seth or her, can help people together by building orphanages? Helping the poor or whatever the good or helpful things can be done.” Marquis shrugged while rolling the wheel when he talked so peacefully.

“Huh. Seth would never touch your money. Why don't you do it yourself?” Louis scoffed and suggested furthermore. “If you want to be nice for real? This could be a great chance for you. Don't you think?”

“I don't know. The world will never accept me. I just don't want to live anymore and if you'll arrest me and keep me behind the bars? It won't be helping either, because the next day, you'll simply found me dead.” With no emotions lingering his words, Marquis said.

“But you've changed. You came out beyond my expectations. Marquis Lunard! Why don't you want to live on with this change?” Louis asked with a little touch of excitement.

“I kept myself controlled so hard up till now, Louis, and only I know that. I used to kiss her every moment. She was being my drug. I never thought about this happening. Ever!” Marquis inhaled when his chest was heavier and so were his eyes. “I loved her hard and I can't live without her. Only death would embrace me after I'll give these to its owner.”

Louis could not utter any word furthermore when Marquis's sad cracked up vocals were enough for him. It indicated that he was suffering too when it hinted Louis that he simply didn't had any strength remained inside himself which was being the reason that he wanted to be dead than to face the world's hate compliments.

“Where's your house?” After entering in an alley, Marquis immediately lifted the car's black tints when he asked while following a sniff in a low voice. He turned when he sternly talked with the other guy. “I need to get these safe before we go somewhere else.”

“At the end of this alley. House 45D” Louis replied and Marquis drove at the location that he told him when his car covered the path slowly, as his head was slightly lowered when his sight searched the house. “That one.” Louis pointed out and the car stopped right in front of a house which was elegant yet graceful.

“I'm hoping that you'll be keeping them safe with yourself.” Marquis took the car in the neutral mode when he turned himself towards the other guy with eyes that held sincerity along with a touch of trust.

“Don't worry. I will.” Louis nodded.

“Oh. Uh, Louis?” His sweet vocals later rung his ears.

“Yes.” Louis turned once again when he was about to step out of the car but didn't as Marquis suddenly held him by the shoulder when he signed and told him to wait, later that he took out a small velvet box from the mini compartment between the front seats. “What's this?” Louis questioned right away and furrowed his brows towards the little velvet box.

“I know, Seth would be mad at this that I'm still trying to steal his girl but....” Marquis nervously talked but still pursue further ahead when he smiled after opening the little black velvet box which had a beautiful diamond ring inside it. “Please give this to him. As a gift. From me.”

That made Louis drop his jaw when his sight was stuck over the ring as he could not move his side from the thing. The only thing that someone like Marquis could afford as the ring was yelling the word expensive itself.
