Chapter 65

“I don't know, James. His sugar coated attitude is dangerous.” Said the old man while staring the other young male who was asleep on the couch.

“But he is true to himself now. Believe me.” James put a hand upon the aged man’s thigh when he supported the only man to whom the whole world was still considering as a bad guy.

“He has done so many things that are surely unforgivable.” The old man was being the fate's desirer when he denied to accept Marquis's pleasant behavior.

True that Marquis has done so many unpredictable sinful things that were surely undeniable, imprudent and cannot simply be neglected like that, but now that he was sorry when he meant it, when the poor man told himself and made them believe that he was ready to apologize every single being to whom that he made suffer but the world was being his hell. Marquis was surely fighting with the hell in order to protect his heaven. He had one thing in his mind pasted by now that she'll surely be having her time with her love but the truth was being exactly opposite. One end of his heart's string was still attached with her heart which was making both of them tingle every time but they both were ignoring it. He doesn't knew how to be good or how to act good when like a new toddler getting an admission in the Cambridge for the first time, just like that Marquis was facing difficulty in learning the new language of being good when new types of explanations were building inside his brain and he wanted to study every one of them in detail.

“But now? He's changing as he took the decision. I don't know what magic that that girl has done to him but just look at him now.” James talked slowly with Derick when he gathered the papers. “He was not in his control at that age, when people don't think straight. Fate has been with him that held his hand now and decided to let him out from that black hole. Don't you think that we should help him?” James kept on insisting while brightening up the positive side when he tried to convince Derick at accepting the bad guy's positive behavior as James continued further ahead when the old man simply sighed after hearing his every word and kept on thinking deeper when his sight was fixed upon the sleeping Marquis. “And did you ever expect those words from him that he just said? Those words of forgiveness.”

“May be you're right, James. I wasn't really expecting that.” With a concerning tone that Derick nodded while agreeing to James.

“Please forgive him. He's facing a really hard time.” James sighed.

“Okay.” Derick nodded positively and asked the actual thing the next moment. “So, on whose name that he want these documents to be converted?”

“Yenail.” James declared.

Whereas outside at the same location, disturbance was happening from an hour when some voices could be heard, time to time as a deep low voice roared among the dark.

“Are you sure this is the place?”

“Yes, sir! Officer Louis Parker sir.” A whisper was heard later.

“There's his car!” Another loud whisper was heard.

____

“The papers are ready and named. We just now need his signature.” The old man alerted James as he began gathering up the paper work.

“Oh. Okay.” James asserted, when the work which usually takes days and sometimes months to get done? Was apparently done in one night when James slightly shook the sleeping guy who was now feeling partially refreshed when Marquis stretched his arms with his one eye opened. “Marquis?”

“Why didn't you wake me up?” With his eyes closed, Marquis asked in his raspy morning voice.

“We didn't need you.” James simply smiled towards the drowsy man. “Did you had a nice sleep?”

“Yes. Thanks so much, James.” Marquis smiled back but the next passing moment that he asked right away with curiosity. “A-Are the papers done?” When after sleeping for like three to four hours, he was all refreshed and it was also almost morning when the stars disappeared and the rays of the sun started shooing away the darkness of the night, when he looked towards the old guy and saw how he seemed all tired when he rushed at him. “I'm really sorry.” Marquis knelt down placing his hands upon the old man's knees when he pleaded with his soft eyes asking for forgiveness as he was feeling bad for the aged man to be working all night. He had his eyes locked with him, when the old man was somehow wrong. Marquis's eyes gleamed with honesty and trueness as the false sugar coated behavior wasn't even there when it seemed like his reflection was pure like a crystal as he was telling the truth.

Derick simply smiled while staring him back when he patted Marquis's head and told him to sit beside himself. Marquis immediately followed his words and sat. “That girl really got a magic wand.” The old man's comment made Marquis's lip broke into a cute giggle when the three men shared few small laughters in the morning. “Now. Here. Sign this authority document and from now on? These papers and your property? Won't be remaining yours.” Derick held the pen when he explained Marquis everything in a strict voice and Marquis nodded with silence when his face immediately formed a serious look. “Everything will be now owned by another owner, named as Yenail.”

His stern voice once again rung Marquis's ear when, while gulping the reality that he has given his everything to her without any regret but with a heavy heart, Marquis's hand held the pen and tightened the grip around it when his face suddenly owned a worried look.

“What's wrong?” James asked.

Marquis closed his eyes and opened them again, and signed the authority documentation. He put the pen down and sat at the same spot while being silent for a while.

The property. The money that he collected, that he gathered in past several years. Now, everything belonged to someone else. The gambling money that he had, the property that he made in all these years, it was all gone. He had nothing remained by himself now at this stage of his life, when Marquis remained silent as he could not utter any word. True, it was also too shocking for both of the men who surrounded Marquis, thinking to how the man who gathered his every single thing with his own bare hands? Just gave away everything like that.

“Tie up these documents, James. I'll take them and give these to Seth. He'll handle it over to her.” Marquis simply ordered James and stood up.

“I'll take my leave now. Have a good day, Mr. Lunard.” Derick slowly stood up and headed towards the main door but stopped in his tracks when he felt a hand over his shoulder as he turned afterwards when Marquis took the old guy in his embrace.

“Thank you for helping me. Mr. Derick.” He politely said and broke the hug while lowering his gaze. “I'm so sorry once again. I hope that you forgave me, because I don't know if I'll be coming back.”

“Son, I pray that you be a good example for everyone.” The old man caressed his soft cheek. “You're still breathing. Fate hasn't decided your death yet. Don't overthink. Live while you're still alive.” The man's wise words never forgets to confuse Marquis's mind when he simply was unable to tackle that another level of experience about life that the old man had. “Now if you allow me? I really need to go.” He patted young man's head as Marquis see offed him with a warm smile.

“Drive safe!” Marquis alerted after he waved.

“Take care and... good luck!” The old man chimed as later that he left the house.

_____

“Sir, look! Someone left the house.” A manly whisper alerted all the agents who were hiding among the bushes.

It was bright as the sun was shining while being behind the clouds, slightly narrowing their eyes when Louis saw a man leaving the house as that man later got inside a different car.

“Sir, he's still in there.” Another manly voice filled Louis's ears when the man showed him the laptop screen which was still flashing the same red blinking dot that didn't leave the location as it was Marquis's phone that they've been tracing up till now.

_____

“Thank you so much, James! You've been such a huge help to me.” Marquis chimed when he shook hands with the only man that he trusted well after his girl.

“It's nothing. You can come visit me anytime.” James smiled back warmly with equal amount of happiness and Marquis nervously laughed.

“Let me get these in the car. I'll get my other stuff later.” Marquis said when he took the tied pile of files and headed outside.

“He's here!” Louis quickly loud whispered towards the other agents after he spotted him leaving the house.

“Sir, that can't be.” Another man told. “How can you tell while being at this distance?”

Louis and his men were waiting for the wanted criminal to come out soon when half of them were gathered and hidden near the house whereas the others were being on a distance when they saw the man reaching the blue car as he opened the car door and put the documents safely inside the dashboard of his car, and later from his shirt's front pocket that Marquis also pulled out a black velvet box which that he put inside the mini middle compartment between the front seats when he smiled and closed the door afterwards.

“Marquis, here's your stuff.” After moments, James came out and reached the young man when he gave Marquis his black blazer along with phone as with a nod that Marquis took his things when right after that.

“Freeze!” Several manly voices rung their ears as some men suddenly appeared out of nowhere, making Marquis and James turn their faces towards the direction of the voices when both of the young men stared the other ones in black suits who were having their 9mm pistols aiming towards them.

Marquis's mind could not process further more while looking towards the sudden situation that just happened when his wide eyes over the men in black, jumped from one person to another, as he was surely surprised at the moment but wasn't even afraid, not a little.

“We finally found you.” A deep voice smothering with seriousness distracted Marquis's ears when he got alerted and turned as he saw a tall figure walking towards his direction.

“Louis.” With a smirk that Marquis locked his eyes with the police officer and later bowed saying few more words in a playful tone. “Proud and honest officer Louis Parker.”

Louis simply scoffed.

“Hmm. Honest officers. I see.” Marquis looked each officer right in their eyes when he ran his sight among the men that Louis brought with himself as the men who were being with Louis, seemed kind of scared a little at the moment as their hands shook when Marquis slowly started walking towards the police officers and teased them all by conveying such unpleasant words. “The previous ones took so much bribe. Guess you guys haven't tasted some yet?”

“Shut up!” One man from them suddenly yelled out of frustration and Marquis simply laughed mockingly at them all while being fearless as he knew that they could not simply face him. He even knew how to fight without a gun when he doesn't even cared about the already aimed gun from Louis's side.

“Hm. I must say. Pure honest officers that you got this time.” A smirk flashed by Marquis when he turned his head towards Louis as right after slipping his hands inside the pockets of his blue jeans, he stood so close to them.

“Where is she?” Louis asked.

“Who?” Marquis arched his perfectly thick brow.

“A girl named Yenail.” Louis replied in a stern tone yet with an aggressive manner.

“Ah. Yenail.” Marquis closed his eyes when his head faced the sky above them all while remembering his favourite girl. “She's not with me.” He suddenly said with a shrug.

“What the hell are you talking about!?” Louis dashed towards him and grabbed Marquis by his collar when he raised his voice at him as his angry eyes pierced the criminal's soul. “She was with you! You kidnapped her!”

“I'm telling you the truth. She's not with me.” Marquis still talked politely when he stared deep in Louis's orbs.

“Search his car.” Louis ordered while still holding him between his hands, when he pushed him harshly and talked with no calmness in his tone. “What if she's inside his car? Hidden. We have no idea.”

“I've got the keys to the car. Don't shoot. It's bulletproof.” Marquis casually talked in a low voice while fixing his shirt when his behavior was really yet surely confusing for Louis as Louis was expecting him to be rude and accusing, and more, he was expecting explicit swearing from this guy but Marquis was acting truly opposite.

Marquis wore his blazer and put his phone in its pocket.

“Found me? Now please shut off that detector or I'll do it myself.” Marquis sternly ordered the officers right in front of their faces when he unlocked his car and turned the keys in the car back’s keyhole, opening it afterwards. Marquis really had the audacity of talking to them like that, when he doesn't even cared about what they'll going to say as he had enough powerful vocabulary to tackle them when he knew how to deal with these departments.

“No one's here, sir.” A man cleared his throat when he stared the empty car’s back.

The other men furiously opened the car's every door while Marquis stood at one spot with his arms crossed over his broad chest and stared all of them, allowing them to search through his vehicle but his senses were alarmed and alerted towards their actions when his sight was fixed towards their hands, where they were actually searching for something special if they needed it. He was observing them carefully just in case if they put their hands at a wrong place in order to steal something. He was well aware from this department. They stopped searching after a very long while.

“Where do you have her hidden?” Louis asked once again whereas Marquis simply sighed when he rubbed his forehead in complete disbelief.

“I'm telling you. She's not with me. I freed her already before coming here.” He declared.

“What...” Louis spaced out for a moment. “Where is she then?”

“I don't know.” Marquis shrugged and now started walking towards his car. “Now, if you'll excuse me? I need to get some work done.” He stood aside his car when he held the car door whereas Louis blankly stared the completely-unexpected-yet-beyond-thinking Marquis. “You're such a nice one.” Marquis smiled towards Louis when he sweet talked with him. “I don't like them.” He threw an annoying expression towards the other men. “You can have a ride with me.” Marquis waited for Louis's words.

Louis thought of capturing him the hard way but it all came out so easily. He was still doubting Marquis as no one could easily trust the bad guy whereas more, the guy from whose name that the world shook somehow.

“Hey! I don't have all day.” Marquis snapped out the officer while waving his hand in front of Louis's face.

Louis was ready to take risks this time when he walked towards the other side of the car but didn't forget to pass a threatening glare to Marquis before getting inside the car and while following a chuckle that Marquis too got inside and started the engine. Louis could not trust him when he pointed the gun towards Marquis's head whereas Marquis simply shook his head when he sighed and pulled the car over the road, now started to drive towards a new location which followed the same track.

“Can you put this down?” Marquis's eyes were glued towards the road when he broke the awkward silence that ruled the interior of the car.

“Why? Scared?” Louis blew sarcastically.

“Me? Scared? Are you kidding me, bro?” Marquis scoffed. “I just don't want you to pull the trigger and get me dead when we face a speed breaker or something, until I get this stuff to its owner.” Marquis casually talked when he already knew this police officer beside him.

“What stuff?” Louis still talked with a heavy yet stern voice.

“Relax, officer. I'll tell you everything on the way.” Marquis smirked when he persuaded covering the road.
