Chapter 21 Chapter Twenty-One
“I won’t tell little Alpha, unless he hurts you.” George winks at me.
Laughing I say. “Thank you, George.”
He smiles and leaves the dining room. I let out a sigh of relief. At least he isn’t going to tell my father. I honestly don’t know what I would do if my father found out. He would probably ban Malakai from the pack. I have nine more years before I can take over the pack, I can’t risk losing Malakai, especially not for that long.
The doorbell rings, echoing through the house. I wonder who that is. No one ever comes over when my father is away. From the dining room I hear George greeting the unexpected guest. “I’m here to see Leilani.” I know that voice, but I don’t know why.
Peeking through the dining room door I see LOGAN. His usually wild blonde hair is styled making him look more mature. Logan’s green eyes meet mine and he smiles excitedly. What the hell is he doing here? Malakai is going to murder him.
“What are you doing here?” I ask perplexed.
“I wanted to talk to you, I didn’t have your number and we haven’t talked well, since we kissed.” Logan smiles softly putting his dimples on display.
Looking around nervously I check to make sure Malakai isn’t watching as I drag Logan outside and shut the door. “You can’t be here Logan.”
“Why not?”
“You just can’t, Malakai won’t be happy you are here.” I say quietly.
“Malakai? Is that the guy that interrupted us on New Year’s Eve?”
“Yes, and well he is my mate.” Malakai flings the front door open. His eyes are black, and claws are out.
Logan laughs staring at Malakai. “What are you going to do? You are old as shit dude.”
Malakai growls and snatches Logan by the throat lifting him several feet in the air. “Malakai no. You are going to kill him.” I shriek.
Logan’s face turns a light shade of purple as his oxygen supply gets cut off. “Malakai please stop.” I beg grabbing his arm. “Please.”
Malakai slowly turns to look at me. “Please Malakai. He just wanted to talk to me. I was trying to tell him to leave.”
I hold onto his arm begging with my eyes. His eyes slowly return to blue as Malakai drops Logan, making him hit the porch. Logan grabs his throat, gasping for air. His throat is bleeding from Malakai’s claws.
“If you ever look at, touch, or even talk to my mate again, I will rip you in half and feed you to the wild animals. Do you understand me?” Malakai growls at Logan who is still gasping for air. “Do you understand? Malakai bellows loudly.
Logan nods with fear filled eyes, unable to speak. “Good now leave and never come back.” Malakai points towards the driveway. Logan scurries trying to get to his feet. We watch as he runs as fast as he can to his car, speeding away.
“Why were you hiding him from me?” Malakai asks suspiciously.
My eyes widen. “I wasn’t hiding anyone from you.” I say defensively.
“You were on the porch, in the cold with him. Instead of inside where it’s warm with me. Were you waiting for Logan to warm you up?”
“I can’t believe you asked me that.” My voice breaks. “I thought we were moving on from this.” Tears form in my eyes, and I run down the steps taking them two at a time. As my foot hits the last step I shift, ripping my clothes.
I run as fast as I can through the snow dusted yard. The air blows through my sandy blonde fur, making me feel free. Weaving through the woods I dodge trees, and loose branches. I catch the scent of a rabbit and I chase it through the woods. The rabbit is easy prey, but I don’t kill animals, I just like the chase. It was something I used to do before anyone knew I could shift.
After catching and releasing the rabbit several times, I let it go. Coming to a slow jog I stop when I run into the cabin Malakai bought for me. I shift back into my human form as I search for a spare key. “The key is in the back porch light. Just unscrew the light cover.” Malakai’s voice comes from the tree line making me scream.
He slowly steps out of the tree line revealing his full nakedness. His body is extremely muscular and toned, tanned skin, dark brown hair and then my eyes fall lower. I gasp and my eyes widen with shock as I take in his size. “Do you like what you see baby?” Malakai says smirking.
I blush, turning away from him, a cold breeze blows, and I realize I’m naked as well. “Oh my god.” I shriek and run behind the house.
Unscrewing the light cover I quickly unlock the door and run inside. I yank a blanket off the couch and cover myself. Malakai walks in the house smiling. He grabs a blanket and wraps it around his waist. He slowly approaches me and without thinking I take a step back. Malakai stops.
“I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” Malakai says sounding upset. My wolf whimpers at his pain. Why did I take a step backwards?
“Malakai, I’m sorry. I don’t know why I stepped away from you.”
He flashes me a half-hearted smile “It’s okay.”
“No. You didn’t make me uncomfortable. I just got nervous. You’re the first person I have ever seen naked.” I say embarrassed.
“It’s okay baby. Sometimes I forget. I just want you all the time, and I forget I need to be patient with you.”
My face turns a bright red. “You want me all the time?”
“Yes baby.” Malakai starts walking towards me, but quickly stops.
I frown. Biting my lip, I walk towards him. His lips curl into a flirty smile. “What are you doing?” He asks his tone full of desire.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I slowly guide him to the couch, pushing him down. His eyes flash with excitement. I straddle his lap, pulling the blanket up to mid-thigh. Malakai grabs my hips as I place several kisses from his lips down to his neck, making him groan.
Loosening the hold on the blanket, I let it pool around my waist. Malakai groans loudly. “Do you like what you see?” I ask anxiously.
