Chapter 95 Found the Factory

Chapter 95 Found the Factory

Donna was alone in the office, with all the lights in the studio outside already turned off.

She was checking information on her computer, looking for any possible solutions.

This was her problem. She hadn't made thorough preparations from the start. Since the pre-sale was already complete, she couldn't let customers not receive their orders.

The most urgent thing now was to calm the customers down.

Donna posted an apology announcement on the homepage, saying that due to certain reasons, this batch of goods couldn't be delivered on time. To make up for the wait, they would first send a small gift to customers with orders. If anyone really didn't want to wait, they could apply for a refund directly, and they would still receive the small gift as compensation for their support.

For customers who didn't request refunds, besides the small gift, they would also receive a matching accessory when the product shipped - basically a buy-one-get-one-free deal.

After posting the announcement on the store page, Donna sent the message to Carol to post on the company's Twitter account, which Carol had been managing.

Whatever losses came from this, Donna would take responsibility herself.

She didn't want to become a profit-obsessed businessman like Peter. Since she chose to create her own brand, she wouldn't let it have any stains on its reputation.

Customers chose her brand because they trusted and liked her. Donna wouldn't let them down.

After handling all this, Donna started preparing to set up her own factory.

Building a new one from scratch would definitely take too long. The fastest option now was to take over someone else's factory, then improve it to make it her own.

While searching for information online, Edward's call came through.

It was very quiet on Edward's end, his voice as deep as always.

"Why aren't you home yet?"

Only then did Donna realize - she wasn't single anymore. She had a husband now.

"There's still some work at the company. I probably can't come back for now."

From her tone, Edward could tell she'd run into trouble.

"Is there anything I can help you with? Even if you're not coming home, you should eat dinner at the office."

Donna's eyes lit up as her gaze focused on the computer screen - she'd found her target.

"No need, I've got things to do. Gotta go."

Donna was in a rush. She quickly called the number listed and had a preliminary discussion. They did indeed intend to sell, but the person who could actually make the decision was currently in Silverlake Springs. They'd already discussed most of the details and needed Donna to come inspect the site in person before finalizing the contract.

Donna didn't dare waste a moment. The sooner this was settled, the sooner her products could ship.

Within ten minutes, Donna was already in a car heading to the airport. She'd booked the next available flight to Silverlake Springs.

……

Grandview Estates.

Edward finished dinner alone, looking at the plate of untouched roasted ribs.

This was Donna's favorite dish. Edward had specifically asked the chef to make it today, but Donna was too busy to come home for dinner. Since he didn't care for it himself, it sat there untouched.

Back in his study, seeing it was about to rain outside, he thought about calling Donna again. If she was going to be really late, he could pick her up.

But when he called, it went straight to busy signal.

Edward immediately called Marlon.

"Go find out if Donna's run into some kind of trouble."

Though Donna hadn't told him, he wanted to know what trouble she'd encountered and whether he could help.

Marlon was quick. He immediately told Edward about how Donna had spent the whole day running around with no results.

"Dino personally gave orders this time. Which processing factory in Silvermere would dare disrespect him? Mrs. Russell is in such a rush because she has a batch of goods that need to be produced immediately. She's already flown to Silverlake Springs."

Edward frowned. "Silverlake Springs?"

"There's a suitable factory there. Processing factories in Silverlake Springs have always been better than ours here."

Edward instructed, "Have our people in Silverlake Springs look after Donna. Report any situation to me immediately."

After hanging up, Edward sat in his study chair, his gaze unconsciously falling on the hydrangeas on the desk - the ones Donna had picked yesterday. The vase was full of water, keeping the hydrangeas moist. They were still blooming beautifully.

……

As soon as Donna got on the plane, she felt tired. She simply slept for a while so she'd have energy to negotiate with them later.

After landing, the other party immediately contacted her and invited her to visit the factory right away. They seemed very eager to sell.

The factory was in the suburbs. Donna declined their offer to pick her up and just took a cab there herself.

When she arrived at the factory entrance, it was already 11 PM, but the factory lights were still on.

Someone nearby answered her unspoken question.

"We're a 24-hour production facility. We're working overtime to finish the last batch of orders. Should be done tonight. If you can sign the deal, it won't delay your order production at all."

Donna had already done her research. This processing factory was very reliable and had previously done work for several major brands.

During the negotiation, Donna found things went surprisingly smoothly. Both parties were straightforward people. After arranging the workers and machinery, they immediately signed the contract.

Aside from having a new owner, everything at the factory remained the same, including the person who had just shown Donna around - he would continue working at the company too.

Donna needed this batch urgently, but quality had to be guaranteed. She wasn't completely confident, so she decided to stay and supervise personally.

Carol hadn't slept either. While answering questions from followers online, she discovered Donna had already gone to Silverlake Springs. The speed impressed her.

During her meal break, Donna called Carol.

"How are the online comments?"

She had to squeeze out time even to eat - no time at all to check what people were saying online.

"Very favorable for us. Everyone says they're willing to wait, and with the small gift you're personally sending, it makes up for things somewhat."

After hearing this, Donna let out a long breath of relief. She was truly grateful to these customers, so at this moment, she absolutely couldn't let down their trust. After wolfing down her food in a few bites, she went back to supervise at the factory.
