Chapter 93 Willingly

Chapter 93 Willingly

Donna thought for a moment. Since they'd already said that, it meant they definitely couldn't deliver. Better to think of other solutions.

"Before we confirmed this manufacturer, didn't we research several others? Have we contacted them?"

Carol said, "I thought of those other manufacturers too. I just called them, and they all made excuses, saying they also can't deliver."

If it were just one or two manufacturers, Donna might think it was a coincidence, but with all of them saying they couldn't deliver, this was definitely deliberate.

Last night Edward had warned her to be careful of Peter and Maya, and this morning something like this happens. Donna suspected these two were behind it.

Perhaps Dino was pushing things along too. After all, Peter didn't have that much power now, and he would definitely blame her for what happened yesterday.

......

In a private room at an upscale restaurant.

Peter was beaming, waiting for his most honored guest to arrive.

His phone, which usually rang constantly, was quiet today. That morning, Peter had received a payment from Dino—a full fifty million dollars.

He'd paid off those debt collectors, so naturally they wouldn't be calling anymore.

He'd also used the money to settle most of the outstanding payments he owed.

But this money was far from solving all his troubles. Still, it could give him peace of mind for a while, which was pretty good.

He still needed to figure out how to get more money out of Dino.

Last night Peter had stayed at the hospital with Dino until midnight. Dino was discharged today—his erectile dysfunction was mostly psychological. Dino felt that if he stayed in the hospital any longer, his sexual function really would be ruined, so he checked out early this morning.

After Peter handled everything, he invited Dino out.

He was just thinking about what to say when the door to the private room opened from outside. A server led Dino in. Peter first checked Dino's expression, confirmed he looked pretty good, then confidently went up to greet him.

"Godfather!"

He called out "Godfather" with real feeling, more enthusiastically than he'd greet his own father.

"Godfather, it's such an honor that you accepted my invitation to have dinner with me."

These flattering words made Dino look even more pleased.

Plus, Peter was bending at the waist as he spoke, with such a fawning expression that in Dino's eyes he looked just like a lapdog.

"Peter, you've always held a high place in my heart. Otherwise I wouldn't have helped you marry Calla."

Dino had indeed put in a lot of effort to help Calla marry Peter quickly.

"I'm so grateful for your help back then, Godfather. It's just that last night, I ruined your fun. Today is my apology—I'll drink three glasses as punishment."

Peter personally helped Dino to his seat, then poured a glass of wine and, without waiting for him to speak, downed three glasses.

Dino smiled and patted his shoulder.

"I knew you were sincere."

Last night when Donna brought people over, he'd actually already had his fun. Apart from being a bit unsatisfied, everything else was fine.

The Chloe that Peter sent over this time wasn't his usual type, but that innocent contrast in her really gave him a thrill.

"To earn Godfather's approval is the most sincere praise I'll ever hear in my life. When my company was in trouble, only Godfather was willing to help me. From now on, I'm like your own son. For you, no matter how dangerous something is, I'm willing to do it."

Peter made another show of loyalty.

Seeing him being so ingratiating, Dino took the opportunity to bring up last night.

"We're all family. Last night, the gift you sent me—I was very satisfied. But I keep thinking your daughter would be even better. I wonder when I could have a good chat with your daughter?"

Seeing Dino bring this up again, Peter naturally understood he was impatient.

"I understand, Godfather. Let me apologize on my daughter's behalf first. She interrupted your fun. I'll definitely have her apologize to you in person when I get the chance."

They both knew who "she" referred to.

Peter wasn't planning to take that risk with Maya anymore. The Russell family wouldn't allow a woman who'd been used by others to marry in. Donna was different—Peter would love for her to be rejected by Edward as soon as possible.

Power that couldn't be used for him and kept causing him trouble should be eliminated early.

He couldn't target Edward, but he could target Donna.

No man could stand his wife being violated by someone else. Edward would be no exception.

Dino sneered.

"A personal apology won't be necessary. I'm someone who always gets revenge. Since she started it last night, naturally I'll get back at her."

Dino wasn't without influence in Silvermere. Last night he'd already given orders—all the factories under his control wouldn't supply goods to Donna anymore. He heard she needed them urgently, which suited him perfectly.

Peter was delighted to hear this. He'd wanted to teach Donna a lesson for a long time, but didn't have the ability. Now Dino was getting revenge for him.

"Thank you so much for teaching Donna a lesson for me, Godfather. I know you're looking out for me, so I also wanted to ask—isn't fifty million dollars a bit too little? You know my company's situation, and besides, this isn't what we originally agreed on."

Peter said the last part carefully. Dino, holding his wine glass, looked over coldly.

"I know this isn't what we originally agreed on, but the person you sent over wasn't either."

Seeing Peter's troubled expression, Dino continued slowly.

"You know I'm not short of money. As long as you help me get things done, I definitely won't shortchange you. I really like coming to Silvermere because I think it's developing so fast. I heard they're opening a hot spring resort soon—the publicity is everywhere."

Peter smiled obsequiously beside him, not saying a word, waiting for Dino to continue.

"The organizers have already invited me. If you can have your daughter accompany me on opening day, I guarantee I'll sort out the money issue for you."

Peter's breath caught.

"Godfather."

Before, Dino had only asked him to find an interesting woman. Chloe had already been with Dino, and now he wanted Donna.

Donna was completely beyond his control now. How could she possibly go willingly?

Dino compromised.

"I only said your daughter. I didn't say which daughter. I've already given you two choices. If you're not willing even with that, then I won't force you. But as for the money, you'll have to figure that out yourself."

With that, he had no desire to stay any longer. No matter how Peter called out behind him, Dino didn't stop. His goal was achieved. He believed smart people would make their own choice.
